Heartfelt Condolences - CTD816

Hello, crafty friends! I know it’s been months since I’ve posted here on my blog but I have posted cards over on my Instagram page which you can find here: The Queen’s Scene

Today I’m here joining my other Color Throwdown team mates as we honor Barbara Anders who passed away recently from pancreatic cancer. Bar was the backbone of our Color Throwdown Challenge, she handled so many behind the scenes aspects of running our challenge but more than that Bar was a creative inspiration to myself and so many in the paper crafting world. Bar’s cards were beautiful and designed with an experts eye, stamp companies and other online sites were blessed to have her representing their products. I know that Bar is in the hands of the Lord and is resting and no longer in pain.
For my card today, I used this week’s colors along with the following Spellbinders dies: Autumn Sealed Sprigs and Sunflower Serenade and die cut the sunflower from cajun clay (PTI), the leaves from kraft card stock, the maple leaves from pumpkin pie (SU), the flower centers from chocolate chip and the small daisy flowers from apricot card stock. All of the pieces then had distress oxide ink blending on each of them.
For the background I used a piece of cream card stock and die cut it using the Outside in Stitched Rectangle dies, then stamped the Waffle Flower sentiment and used a wood impression plate for just the inside rectangle.

Treat Cart - CTD796

Hello there! It’s time for this week’s Color Throwdown Challenge where we have some fun citrus colors to create with!
For my card, I used the adorable new Lawn Fawn Treat Cart stamp set and Treat Cart dies to create a Father’s Day card. I started out by stamping all of the images in the stamp set, die cutting them using the dies and coloring them using copic makers.
Using the Outside In Stitched Rectangle dies, I die cut one rectangle from some orange gingham Doodlebug paper and another from white card stock which I then used the Cloudy Stencil to stencil on some clouds along the top and used the Simple Stitched Borders dies and some lime green card stock for the bottom. For my sentiments, I used the Everyday Sentiment Banner dies. This was a very fun card to create and I can’t wait to use this set again!

Primrose Garden - CTD787

Hello! Long time no see. I haven’t blogged since January but I have still been creating and sharing over on my Instagram account which you can see here

Today I’m jumping in to share my card for this week’s Color Throwdown Challenge #787 where we’ve got some cool aqua and green colors to create with.
Ever since I saw the new Primrose Garden Bundle from Concord & 9th with the bold flower dies and the coordinating sentiment stamp set, I knew I need it. I’ve made a handful of cards using it so far and I absolutely love it!
To create my card, I started out by die cutting the outline base for the flowers and leaves from always artichoke (SU) card stock and adhering it to a white card base.

Next I die cut the large center flower and matching bud from cool caribbean (SU) and ink blended the center with peacock feathers distress oxide ink and added the black die cut center. For the leaves, I die cut them from old olive and lucky limeade and ink blended on some lucky clover and peeled paint distress oxide ink. the small cluster of flowers were die cut from taken with teal card stock and the medium sized flowers from white card stock and ink blended with tumbled glass. The berries were die cut from limeade ice (PTI) card stock and ink blended with some mowed lawn distress oxide ink. Once I assembled all of my die cut pieces, I die cut and stamped my banner and added some turquoise gems to the white flower centers and some tiny clear gems to the teal ones.

Recently I purchased the Lawn Fawn Henry’s ABCs alphabet dies and I’m going to try and make sure I actually use them. I thought they be fun to use with the Loads of Fun stamp set since I haven’t used it in quite a while and of course I had to add some mice.
Supplies: Loads of Fun stamp set & dies, Henry’s ABCs dies, Small Slimline with Lift the Flaps, copic markers, white gel pen, Dandy Day stamp set & dies (for mice), tumbled glass & faded jeans distress oxide ink, Everyday Sentiment Banners, Doodlebug patterned paper for paper piecing, Night of navy & dark gray card stock, foam tape & glossy accents for bubbles.

Hollyhocks Anniversary - CTD758

Hi there! I’m hostess over at the Color Throwdown Challenge for this week and I chose the colors pink, green, magenta and white for us to create with. I can’t wait to see what you create using these colors!
For my card I used The Greetery’s Hollyhock BotaniCuts dies to create an anniversary card. I started out by die cutting the leaves in mellow moss and the flowers in white, pink pirouette and raspberry fizz card stock and then using peeled paint, scattered straw and spun sugar distress oxide ink along with some Altenew razzleberry and Pinkalicious ink to blend on each die cut piece. I also blended some spun sugar distress ink on the background of my white card base. I used the Papertrey Ink stamp set, Think Big Favorites for my sentiment which I stamped onto a strip of raspberry fizz card stock for along the bottom of my card. As a finishing touch, in the center of each flower I added some yellow Stickles glitter.
