Ready, Set, Snow - CTD562

Hello, hello! I hope your week is going well. It’s Wednesday and time for this week’s Color Throwdown Challenge.
Yes I’m jumping ahead with the holidays with a Christmas card for today but when I saw the colors for this week’s challenge, I thought of the Lawn Fawn Ready, Set, Snow stamp set and dies. To create my card, I used the Outside In Stitched Square dies to die cut both a white card stock square and also to die cut a piece of Doodlebug Design dot-stripe paper in blue. I stamped all of my images from the Ready, Set, Snow set and colored them using Copic markers then die cut them out. For my snow-globe, I masked off the bottom portion of the globe and blended on some SU brilliant blue ink. I also used some Lawn Fawn Sparkle Cardstock for the inside bottom of my snow-globe, I stamped the snow-globe onto a strip of the sparkle cardstock and trimmed it to size. I added glitter to the snow covered trees and houses and used a white gel pen to add dots of snow for the background. I popped up the group of houses and the white stitched square I adhered my snow-globe to with foam tape and used the Mini Snowflakes dies and some silver metallic paper to die cut some small snowflakes. I stamped the happy holidays from the Winter Wavy Sayings set onto a white banner that I die cut using the Simple Wavy Banners dies.

Fairies & Flowers - CTD561

Hello, crafty friends! It’s time for this week’s Color Throwdown Challenge where we have the pretty colors of purple, light green, teal and ivory to create with.
For my card, I thought it would be fun to combine a few Hello Bluebird stamp sets to create a flowery fairy birthday card. I started out using the Fairy Garden stamp set ( I adore these sweet fairies) and stamped three of the fairies then colored them with Copic markers. I then used the Fairy Garden dies to die cut them out. Next I used the Wildflower Bouquet stamp set and Wildflower Bouquet dies and stamped out the leaves in mint julep, new leaf and tropical teal and the flowers in lavender lace, orchid opulence, royal velvet and aqua mist. Once I had all of my pieces ready, I used the Outside In Stitched Rectangle dies and die cut a piece of white card stock. I placed a rectangle stencil on top of this piece so that I could blend on some tumbled glass and peacock feathers distress oxide ink to create a soft background for my scene and to anchor all of my pieces. Next I used my Misti tool and the Cheery Greetings stamp set and stamped the celebrate in tropical teal and the it’s your day in black ink. To finish off my card, I used some purple stickles in the center of the purple flowers, some clear Wink of Stella glitter pen on the fairies wings and dresses and glued on some iridescent sequins in my background.

Let’s TACO ‘bout your birthday - CTD560

Hello there! A brand new Color Throwdown Challenge starts today where we have the colors red, yellow, brown and green to create with and we hope you’ll play along.
For my card I used the adorable Lawn Fawn anniversary stamp set Year Nine along with the coordinating Year Nine dies to create a fun birthday card. I started out with a square card and die cut a piece of Doodlebug Designs paper using the Outside In Stitched Square dies. Next I used the Stitched Scalloped Circle Frames and die cut a piece of white card stock. For the inside of my circle, I used more Doodlebug Designs paper and die cut the red striped paper using the Simple Stitched Hillside Borders and stamped my sentiment. I stamped all of my images and colored them using Copic markers then die cut them out. I used the Simple Wavy Banners dies and Wavy Sayings stamp set for the happy birthday sentiment banner and popped the banner and the center taco up using foam tape. This was a fun card to make!

When Friends Gather - CTD559

Hello, hello! It’s Wednesday and time for this week’s Color Throwdown Challenge.
I created my first fall card of the year using the Hello Bluebird stamp set Fall Friends and the Fall Friends dies. To create my card, I started out by stamping my images and coloring them with Copic markers then die cutting them out. Next I used the Outside In Stitched Rectangle dies to first die cut a piece of white card stock for my background panel and second to die cut a piece of scrap paper with a smaller rectangle so that I could use it as a stencil to blend on some tumbled glass and mermaid lagoon distress oxide ink. After that, I die cut a piece of kraft card stock using the rectangle dies again and the Simple Stitched Hillside Borders dies and blended on some vintage photo distress oxide ink I stamped my sentiment.
