SSSC91 - Merry Christmas

Happy Halloween!!!  It's time for the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge and Karen has another great sketch for all of us to try!  Yes its Halloween and I've got a Christmas card to share, lol.  If you've been out at the stores you've seen that Christmas is everywhere and it seems like its out earlier each year.  I used the stamp set Season of Joy for my card and ended up turning the sketch vertical so that I could use the tree from the set.

Supplies: Season of Joy, Retired SU DP, Nesties, Ribbon, Gems.  Colors: Old Olive, Very Vanilla, Real Red.
To play along create a card using Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch, then go to Karen’s blog The Sweetest Thing and link your card so we can all see your creation!

A Fall Thinking of You

Hello friends!  The card that I have to share today makes me think of apple picking a few weeks ago with my family.  It's a tradition that we have each year, then of course comes the apple pies, apple cakes and loads of fresh apples to eat, I love it!
For my card I use the Taylored Expressions October Key Ingredients Kit and the TE stamp sets Branching Out and Branching Out Coordinates.  This card was so fun to create with the wonderful assortment of fall designer papers, buttons and colors that come in the Key Ingredients Kit as well as the adorable images I could choose from in the Branching Out & Branching Out Coordinates stamp sets.
I started out by stamping the tree trunk on Buttercream card stock, then stamped the tree top onto a piece of the designer paper from the kit then cut it out and added it above my tree trunk. Next I stamped, colored and cut out all of the fun little details to spruce up my tree image like the apples and the cute squirrel at the base of the tree and added those to my main image.

If you haven't had a chance to order this month's Key Ingredients Kit, you can by following the link here.

Here to give you a Lift

Wow it's already Tuesday, where did Monday go?  I knew this week would fly by fast since I have a ton of things I need to get done.  Today I have a few quick cards that I created for some friends, I went with bright colors because I wanted them cheerful looking.  I used the Papertrey Ink stamp sets Everyday Button Bits and Blooming Button Bits as well as more of the Cosom Cricket DeLovely designer paper which I can seem to get enough of.

The Taylored Expressions Blast from the Past Blog Hop

Hello friends!  Are you ready for some fun?  I hope so because it's time for the Taylored Expressions Blast from the Past Blog Hop!  This month the theme for the Hop is Christmas so everyone who is participating in the Hop has used their Taylored Expression Christmas stamps to create a card or project.  For my card I used the TE stamp sets Branching Out and Branching Out Coordinates as well as one of Taylor's past sketch challenges, TESCC61.  You can see from the picture below that I stamped the bare tree branch from the set then added three leaves, stamped the three ornaments and used Liquid Applique and glitter to give the effect of a snow covered branch.  I colored the leaves and ornaments using Copic markers and added a touch of Spica glitter pen to each of them.  Then I stamped two of the little birds from the set, colored and cut them out and using foam tape placed them perched on top of the snow covered branch.
Thank you for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the rest of the Taylored Expression Blast from the Past Blog Hop!

MTSC96/CQC55 - Birthday Wishes

Happy Thursday!  This week has been a busy one which hasn't left me with much time to stamp but I managed to sneak in this card for Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge and the Colour Queen Color Challenge.  I used the Papertrey Ink stamp set Four of a Kind and rocked and rolled each flower in Pink Pirouette and Regal Rose, then added white flocking to the center of them so they would look soft and fuzzy.  I stamped and cut three of the flowers out and popped up two for some dimension.

Supplies: Four of a Kind & Everyday Button Bits (for sentiment) - PTI, Nesties, Ribbon, White Flocking, Pearls, Perfect Polka Dot Impressions folder, Foam tape.

Color Throwdown #114 - Enjoy Your Day

Good Monday morning to you!  Today I have a card that I created using the colors from the Color Throwdown Challenge and another image from the Betsy Bluebell stamp set from Penny Black.  I colored this fun image using my Copics then added some glitter with a Spica pen to some of the flowers and insects.  After cutting the image to a circle I decided to make a tent topper card where the base of my card measures 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" and the scallop circle with the image rest a little more than half way onto the top of the card.

Supplies: Betsy Bluebell - Penny Black, Sunny Garden DSP, Ribbon, Picket Fence border punch, Flower, Button, Copics, Spica glitter pens, Nesties, Scallop border punch, Foam tape.

Hope you enjoy YOUR day!

SSSC89 - Happy Everything

It's Sunday and it's time for the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge!  Karen has cooked up another fun sketch for all of us to try this week and I hope you'll jump in and give it a go!  For my card I ended up turning the sketch on its side and creating a birthday card using the stamp set On a Pedestal.  I wanted to use some of the retired Razzleberry Lemonade designer paper I still have and that's where I pulled my colors from.

Supplies: On a Pedestal, Razzleberry Lemonade DSP,  Ribbon, Perfect Polka Dot Impressions Folder, Scallop border punch, Corner Rounder punch, Circle punch, Buttons, Dimensionals.  Colors: Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo, So Saffron.

Taylored Expressions October Key Ingredients Kit

Hello there friends!  I'm super excited to share the projects I've created today using the Taylored Expressions October Key Ingredients Kit!!!  On the 15th of each month Taylored Expressions releases a new Key Ingredients Kit which is loaded with beautiful papers, ribbons and embellishments.  To view all of the details for this months KI Kit or to sign up for a subscription you can click here.
On the 15th of each month when the new KI Kit is released Taylor issues a challenge to jumpstart every one's creativity.  This month the challenge was to use the October KI Kit and create a simple card that could easily be recreated (card above) and then to create a stepped up version of that card (card below).  I used the Taylored Expressions stamp set Branching Out for both of my cards and the fun Imaginisce Cider Apple designer paper, cardstock and ribbon from the Key Ingredients Kit.  For my first card I kept it relatively simple with most of my stamping being done directly onto my main image panel and only a bird and few leaves popped up for dimension.

For the stepped up version of my first card I added more detail, which included added dimension to the top of the tree, two birds, a nest, more leaves, border punch, stamping and matting my sentiment, a hilltop for the tree and buttons.  As a perk for Key Ingredient Kit subscribers Taylor has put together a step-by-step instruction sheet for the cards you not only see here on my blog post today but for all of the other cards the women on the team have designed for the challenge.

Be sure to visit the rest of the Key Ingredients Design Team members below to see what they've come up with for this month's challenge.

and Taylor of course!

We would also love to see what you can create for this month's challenge when you receive your Key Ingredients Kit!

Thanks for stopping by!

CQC#54 - Happy Halloween

Happy Thursday everyone!!!  This morning I'm headed to a garden center for a field trip with my preschooler so he can learn about the life cycle of a pumpkin and have cider and donuts, but before I go I wanted to post my card for the Colour Queen Challenge #54.  I used the fun Papertrey Ink stamp set Friendship Jar & Friendship Jar Fall Fillers for this card. It may be difficult to see but I added glitter to all of the stars and swirls on this image after I colored it using my Copics (you can click on the picture above for a closer look).

Supplies: Friendship Jar & Friendship Jar Fall Fillers, Halloween Prints designer paper, Button, Ribbon, Label die, Copics, Glitter, Foam tape.
Hope you have a great day!

Mojo Monday/Just Add Ink Butterflies

Hello there, hope you're having a good start to your week.  Today I have a card that's for the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge and for the Just Add Ink Challenge which was to create a card using bling & pink since October is breast cancer awareness.  I used the SU stamp set Flight of the Butterfly for my card and instead of circles or buttons I used a flower punch and rhinestones.  I omitted the bracket shape on the main image from the sketch because I couldn't get it to look right with my butterflies but other than that I stayed true to the sketch.

Supplies: Flight of the Butterfly, Butterfly punch, Flower punch, Ribbon, Perfect Polka Dot Impressions Folder, Rhinestones, Jumbo Scallop die, Dimensionals.  Colors: Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink.

Stampendous

Happy Thursday!  I've got something different to share with you today, something not very many people know.  Last year I was asked by Stampendous to create some card samples using their stamps for their up coming catalog and these are two of the cards out of the ten that were published in the January 2010 Stampendous Catalog {pg. 117-119}.  The cards were to be created using the stamps, supplies and colors they had selected and to be clean and simple.  I know what some of you are thinking, at the time I was a Stampin' Up demonstrator but this was before SU had changed their demonstrator agreement.  Once Stampin' Up had issued the change in their demo agreement I was put in the tough spot of choosing to stay as a Stampendous Design Team member or to continue as a Stampin' Up demonstrator.  The choice was hard but I ended up signing the SU demo agreement and switching my blog to be all Stampin' Up.  Now that I've resigned as an SU demo I have the freedom to share and link to whom I like and that's why I'm excited to share these cards with you today.

Supplies: Spring Sprigs, Sunny Flowers (for sentiment) - Stampendous, Nestabilities dies, Ribbon, Copics, Glitter, Pop dots.

This is a close-up shot of the flowers that were stamped on the second card, its difficult to see but I added glitter to the tips of the flowers.

Supplies: Dandie Trio, Sunny Flowers (for sentiment) - Stampendous, Nestabilities dies, Copics, Glitter, Ribbon, Pop dots.
