SSSC#200/CQC#220 - 70 And Fabulous!

Hi there friends!  Today is a special day for the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge, it's our 200th sketch!  Can you believe it!  In honor of our 200th sketch Karen has a fantastic My Favorite Things (MFT) giveaway up for grabs.  Make sure you stop by Karen's blog for all of the detail and we really hope you'll play along.
I was in need of a 70th birthday card for my aunt's birthday which is the day after Christmas, so I used our sketch for today but I also jumped in and used the colors from this week's Colour Queen Challenge #220.  I used the Papertrey Ink stamp set Big Birthday Wishes with the coordinating number dies and Turning a New Leaf dies along with the MFT rolled roses die.

SSSC#199/CQC#218 - JOY

Hi there!  It's time for the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #199.  Karen has another fabulous sketch for all of us to create with and we hope you find the time to play along.

For my card I used the Papertrey Ink stamp set Simple Snowman with the coordinating dies along with some banner dies, snowflake embossing folder, an older SU alphabet set and some doodlebug designer paper.  I ended up flipping the sketch so the long rectangle is vertical to allow for my snowman and I also used the colors from the Colour Queen Color Challenge #218 which I thought were cheerful and bright.

SSSC#197 - Season's Greetings

Hi there!  If you're a subscriber to my blog or visit regularly, your probably wondering if I've dropped off the face of the earth.  I apologize for not posting as to why I've been absent and in all honesty it was a combination of several different reasons.  I've been posting here on my blog for more than seven years now (wow I can hardly believe that) and felt burnt out, I had a lack of mojo in creating cards and to go along with that, my computer took a nose dive and wasn't working.  Creating a blog post with my old computer was beyond frustrating, when I found myself crying because I couldn't get a card posted on time, I asked myself whether this was what I wanted in my life and I took a step back.
But....my dear husband surprised me with a new computer for my birthday and although its faster and oh so wonderful and I'm extremely grateful, it has Windows 8 which I know nothing about.  Now I don't know about you but I'm far from computer savvy so it's taking me a while to find my way around.  I'm hoping that once I get the hang of my new computer it will be easier for me to share what I've created and I'll get back to blogging regularly again.

With all that being said, I'm here today to share a card that I created for today's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #197.
I used the fun Paper Smooches Swanky Snowdudes stamp set along with some Doodlebug Designs Christmas paper to create one of my first Christmas cards of the season.  I took a little liberty with the flag/banner from the sketch and flipped it inward so that I could use it for my sentiment, I added some buttons, twine and my Copic colored snowdude who was cut out and popped up.

SSSC#195 - Happy Birthday Blowout!

Good morning!  Are you ready for a new Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge?  I hope so because Karen has another fun one for us.
I needed a fun birthday card and this Penny Black stamp (Best of Luck) that I have popped into my head so I decided to go with it.  I love these chickens!  (Sorry for the rotten pictures today, my camera is acting up) I also used the happy birthday sentiment from the Paper Smooches stamp set Sentiment Sampler along with some Copic markers and glitter.

SSSC#194/Tuesday Trigger - Birthday Blooms

Hello there!  It's time for the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.  Karen has another fun sketch for all of us this week and we hope you'll join in and play along.
For my card I used the Papertrey Ink stamp sets Bigger Blooms, Mini Blooms, Embroidered Blooms and Boutique Borders to create a birthday card.  Along with the Sweet Sunday Sketch (which I guess I took liberties with, yikes) I also used this week's Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger Challenge as my inspiration (photo above).

CTD#260 - Happy Halloween

Hi friends!  Hope you're having a great weekend!  I'm finally posting my card for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge, even if it is late.  Which brings me to my announcement.  As sad as it is, I've made the decision to step down from the Color Throwdown team.  I've thoroughly enjoyed being part of the Color Throwdown team and working with all of the talented women that I've come to know, but my life has become busier over the past several months and I feel that this is the best decision for me.
For my card I used the Paper Smooches stamp set Halloweenies along with the Clean & Simple sketch challenge from last week, some paper piecing and Copic marker coloring.

SSSC#193 - Sending you a Little Sunshine

Hello crafty friends!  It's time for the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.  Karen has another fun sketch for all of us to create with and we hope you'll take the time to play along.
I used the sketch to create a card for a very special friend of mine and along with the card I sent a box of sunshine (something I saw on Pinterest).  The box of "sunshine" included a bunch of random yellow items that I had collected, anything I though my friend might like from yellow glitter to a sunshine notepad and matching pen.  As for my card I used the Papertrey Ink stamp set Hello Sunshine (appropriate right :) along with some PTI cloud dies, ribbon, scallop border punch, sequins, rhinestones, and glitter for the sun rays.
If you have a chance of sending someone you know a box of sunshine, I highly suggest you do.  Not only was it fun finding yellow items for sending, but it gave me a good feeling hoping that what I sent made my friend smile.

CTD#259/RS80 - Fall Thinking of You

Hi there!  It's Wednesday and time for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge!  Our hostess for this week is Melody who chose this wonderful fall color palette and inspiration photo.
I do believe this is my first official fall themed card for this year, it's got me in the mood for cooler weather (it was close to 90 here today).  For my card I used the Papertrey Ink stamp sets Happy Hexagons and Autumn Acorns along with the coordinating dies.  I also used this week's Retro Sketches Challenge #80, but ended up flipping the sketch and instead of doing strips of card stock I went with hexagons.
Be sure to visit the other Color Throwdown design team members for more inspiration using this week's color challenge!
