Beate's Weekend Challenge
This file folder card is for Beate's weekend challenge and in her directions she said to use the Stampin' Up corner rounder to round all of the corners, well I don't have one so I'm going with the squared off look! I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder on the background lovely lilac and some of the new meshy ribbon from one of my favorite scrapbook stores the Little Scrapbox. The cat from this stamp set wasn't as much fun to color as I thought she would be, but it will do.
Supplies: Haunting Halloween, stamp set, Cuttlebug embossing folder, Photo corner punch, Round tab punch, piercer w/mat, stapler, Ribbon, Star brad, Yellow glitter, Aqua brush. Colors: Basic Black, Lovely Lilac, Only Orange, Green Galore, Whisper White, Basic Grey/for cat, Close to Cocoa/for broom, More Mustard/for broom.
Thanks for looking!

Something Good
Yesterday I stopped in a local scrapbook store and was shopping and right near the door were these pretty papers that caught my eye and then I looked at the maker and it was Karen Neuburger. I recognized the logo and name because I have a pajama set made by her, after looking her up on line she has a lot of things with her name on them.
In honor of Breast Cancer awareness, which is next month if you visit the Karen Neuburger web site and register with the site they will donate a dollar. They also have different products for sale that when purchased a donation is made, so if you have a chance to check it out here is the link: Karen Neuburger

A Sticky Subject
About a year ago I was interested in purchasing a industrial tape dispenser, with all of the paper crafting that I do it just seems that I'm always going through tape. The one that I was looking at was the ATG Scotch tape dispenser, I didn't have the money at the time to get one and I didn't know how well it actually worked. Now of course I've been ready to buy one except I'm waiting until November for when this new tape dispenser comes out, its by a company called Glue Arts its called the Glue Glider Max I've heard that this tape dispenser is the best! I signed up for their email news letter so that I can stay posted as to when it actually hits the stores, if I get any info on the Glue Glider Max I will keep you up dated.

A Friends Fall Birthday
This card is for a friend of mine, her birthday is this week, so when I saw today's splitcoast stampers sketch challenge I thought that I would use the sketch to make her card. I knew that I wanted to use some fall colors on her card but didn't know which stamp set until I pulled out the set Looks Like Spring and wondered if I could make it look like Fall. I haven't used this set in quite a while because when it first came out I was using it all of the time and kind of got sick of see it. Hope she likes it!
Supplies: Looks like Spring, Polka Dot BG, Warmest Regards, stamps, Ribbon, Button, Piercer w/mat. Colors: Chocolate Chip, More Mustard, Pumpkin Pie, Elegant Eggplant and Whisper white.
Thanks for looking.

The Smell of Autumn
This is a non stamping post, but I do like sharing things I like and I really like Yankee Candles. During the fall and winter I bring out a few of my candles and there is nothing better than walking into a room when a good smelling candle is lit, it makes the room seem cozy. When I light a candle for some strange reason it seems to calm and relax me. One of my favorite scents for fall is Harvest or Cinnamon Stick, if your interested this is the link to Yankee Candle : http://www.yankeecandle.com/cgi-bin/ycbvp/retail.jsp?cm_mmc=yahoo-_-071806-_-WebSitePublicity&c1=brand~domain&source=overture&kw=www+yankeecandle and if you sign up they will send you coupons in the mail and on line.

Having Fun with Alexa's Stamps
Well I've been wanting to play with this stamp set ever since I got it in the mail about a week ago. This card was so much fun to make and color, the pattern for this card is Jan Tink's and she calls it a Bib Card as in baby bib if you click on the highlighted link it will take you to her tutorial. Jan Tink is an amazingly talented woman and has a great sense of humor, I really enjoy reading and visiting her blog Stamps, Paper, Scissors!
The stamp set I used on this card are from MissyB Designs and it's called Alexa's Set, it's totally adorable not to mention that it's for a great cause. This stamp set was designed for a little girl that has been through so much and really needs all of our thoughts and prayers especially right now, if you would like to read Alexa's story or post a message to her mother Lauren Meader you can follow this link to Lauren's blog: The Beauty Within. Grab your tissue box :(
Supplies: Alexa's Set-MissyB Designs, Polka Dot BG-Stampin' Up, Scalloped Circle punch, Coluzzle, Prima Flowers Sprites 2, Rhinestone brad. Colors: Certainly Celery, Lavender Lace, Regal Rose, Apricot Appeal, Whisper White.
With all of the money that is spent on rubber stamping and scrapbooking, buying this set to give a donation to children's cancer research was well worth it!
Thanks

Beate's Weekend Sketch & Inspiration Challenge
It's so nice to have a plan when you want to come up with a card! This card is for Beate's weekend sketch challenge and for the splitcoast stampers inspiration challenge. The inspiration challenge for this weekend is different but pretty and the only stamp set that I could think of that might come close to working was Roses in Winter. RIW is a retired Stampin' Up stamp set, but I just couldn't get rid of it!
Supplies: Roses in Winter, Warm Words, Linen BG, Tres Chic BG, Ribbon, Square rhinestone brads, Large and small oval Punch's, Dazzling Diamonds, Pop dots. Colors: Certainly Celery, Mellow Moss, Lovely Lilac, Lavender Lace, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White.
Have a great day :o)

Seasonal Whimsy
This was another card that we did for stamp camp the other night, I love this set with the matching Whimsy wheel.
After playing around with how I wanted to do the main image, I decided on using markers directly on the stamp was the best way to go for this card. Below you can see a few of my attempts and the different looks you can get.
Supplies: Seasonal Whimsy, Whimsy wheel, Canvas BG, Ribbon, Stampin' Up markers, pop dots. Colors: Chocolate Chip, Really Rust, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White, Markers-Old Olive, Ruby Red, Pumpkin Pie, Really Rust and Chocolate Chip.

Halloween Goodies
These were the little goodies that I made for each of the ladies that came to stamp camp last night, they're filled with Hersey kisses. I found the idea from someone on splitcoast stampers, but the I don't remember the woman's name, she used a different tag and ribbon but the idea was great - so I cased it!
The tins were from the dollar bins at the front of Michael's craft store, you never know what you can find in the dollar bins at Michael's, JoAnn's or Target.
I used the Stampin' Up Creepy Crawly designer paper (so cute) and the stamp set Batty for You.

A Good Find
A few weeks ago I was shopping at my neighborhood Archiver's and as I was browsing along I found this book on scrapbooking a child's toddler hood, I didn't buy it that day but it stuck in my mind that I could probably use some new inspiration when I start scrapbooking my son Connor's books. So when I had a coupon I went back and got it, it was the last one! I like this book because the scrapbook pages are great but not over the top, something maybe I could do and through out the book it gives you extra ideas for mini scrapbooks or other projects that you could do. So if you have a toddler or will have a toddler or know someone who does, this is a good book, at least I think so.

Missing in Action
For the past few days my time has been taken up with preparing for tonight's stamp camp and caring for my baby boy who has been sick with a bad cold. I don't remember going this long with out sleep with my other two children, there are soooo many days that I feel like I'm walking in my sleep because I've been up at least two times during the night, for the past 10 months. Our youngest Connor is a blessing just as our other children are, but man hes going to be the one to keep us on our toes.
It sure is harder doing all of this baby stuff 10 years later!

Getting Organized
If I close my eyes, in my dream world I would have my life be completely organized, Yeah I know its time to wake up! I have a family and most of us don't put stuff back like we should. So my closets don't look like Martha Stewart lives in my house but I try my best.
Before I move into my new craft room (still a work in progress) I know that I need to get rid of a lot of stuff since I'm going into a smaller room and I need to be organize. For all of my little embellishment do dads I used to use these metal watchmaker tins but they never stayed closed and didn't travel well so just last week I found these medium size Artbin cases at JoAnn's craft store used for beads and jewelry making and sorted through my stuff. I only put in thinks I know I'm going to use and got rid of the rest. I bought four cases one for brads, another for buttons, eyelets and the last for glitter.
Now I just have to go through all of the rest of my mess :(

Mixing up some Toil and Trouble
This card is for today's sketch challenge at SCS, it was a bonus round, two sketches in one day and I decided to give this one a try because I'd never done a round card before. This round card was trouble, I first used my aqua brush to color the cauldron in with basic black NOT a good idea, I forgot how purple BB is when used for water coloring (use Basic Grey). Next I wanted to pop the frog so I stamped him a second time and colored him and went to cut him out and ripped off his poor little legs. Needless to say it doesn't pay to rush, I gave myself 20 minutes to get this card done before my kids got home from school and this is it!
Supplies: Haunting Halloween-Stampin' Up, Stitched Ribbon-Hero Arts, Ribbon, Coluzzle, Piercer, Aqua Brush, Dazzling Diamonds, Stickles, Pop Dot, Googlie Eyes. Colors: Green Galore, Basic Black, Only Orange, Lovely Lilac, Craft White, Basic Grey.

Happy Fall
This card is for today's color challenge over at splitcoast stampers. The colors to use were Always Artichoke, Taken with Teal and Purely Pomegranate. I must have been lacking in the brain cell department today because I used the Big Deal Alphabet letters and it took me about 5 minutes or so before I realized that I had mounted the T on the F and the F on the T (scary) I kept wondering why the F kept coming out backwards, OMG!
This Autumn Fest was one set I knew I had to get as soon as I saw the new Stampin' Up Fall - Winter collection catalog. These colors are pretty bold so I immediately thought of this set, I'm happy with the way it turned out.
Supplies: Autumn Fest, Linen BG, Weathered BG, Big Deal Alphabet, Flexible Phrases - stamps, Ribbon, Button, Linen Thread. Colors: Always Artichoke, Taken with Teal, Purely Pomegranate and Whisper White.
Thanks for looking!

Blah Blah Blah......
Computer problems drive me crazy!!!! We lost our power last weekend due to down power lines and ever since then I was having problems with getting logged onto the Internet. What was making me crazy is that it would work for a little while and then I would go do laundry and come back and it wouldn't work. Today we finally figured out that our wireless router must have been fried when we lost power, so we disconnected it and so far so good :)
OK I'm done venting now.
And the winner is.......
It looks like (out of the shows I listed) Greys Anatomy is the most watched TV show by a vote of 54%.
Thanks for voting!

Max & Pumpkins
This is a card using one of the Stampendous stamps that I purchased from Anna over at her on line store Sassy & Sweet Crafts. I love these cute little mice, I used an aqua brush and Stampin' Up ink pads to color the main image and then filled in the mouth and eyes of the jack-o-lanterns with yellow stickles. I've been seeing some awesome Halloween Stampendous samples over at Taylored Expressions, Taylor has a great blog filled with some wonderful cards and projects.
Supplies: Max & Pumpkins, Stampendous, Canvas BG, See you around wheel, Stampin' Up, Snap Stamps, Karen Foster, Ribbon, Stickles. Colors: Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Yoyo Yellow, Basic Grey and Whisper White.

Bind-it-All Christmas Shopping List
Today I had a little bit of time to play with my new toy, my Bind-it-All. Yes I'm happy that I bought it, the first project I made was this Christmas shopping list book, and it was sooo much fun to make. I thought what better way to kick off the holiday season when it comes around then to be organized with my thoughts of gift giving. On the inside I put a tab for my husband, my kids, other family and a section for notes in the back. I was inspired by two women when I put this together, one of course was Beate who gave an awesome tutorial on how to make one of these books and the other was Tammy on her blog Creative Juices, I really liked the way she colored the Season of Joy stamp on her Deck the Halls card.
Its hard to see but the background of the real red card stock has been stamped with the pointsettia stamp from the SOJ stamp set and the center of the O from the JOY has been popped out and has a rhinestone brad in the center.
Supplies: Season of Joy Stampin' Up stamp set, Snap Stamps by Karen Foster, Cardboard, Lined Index Cards, Tab Punch, Circle Punch, Stampin' Up markers, Ribbon, Rhinestone Brad, Pop Dots, and of course my new BIA. Colors: Old Olive, Real Red, Whisper White.

First Day of School
These pictures are of my two older kids (I also have a 10 month old) last week Tuesday on their first day of school. My son Zachary with his football helmet is 12 years old and this year actually cares about how he looks before he leaves the door. That and I guess he's to cool for me to write a note and put it in his lunch box that says have a great day love mom.
The other picture is my daughter Gabrielle who is 10 years old and couldn't stand the fact that I wanted to take pictures again this year. I tried to explain that she would thank me some day when she has these pictures in a scrapbook to look back on. Zach is in 7th grade, middle school and Gabby is in 5th grade elementary school, its hard to believe how fast they have grown. I'm very proud of the young people they've become, there good kids.

New Bind-it-All
OK, so I broke down and bought a Bind-it-All Machine, I've seen so many neat projects done with this little baby that when I got a coupon from my local Achievers store for 25% off, I thought why not. Now I just need to justify buying it and get busy making some great things (as soon as I figure out how to use it). My friend Bonnie just received a BIA as a gift, the two of us need to get together and get binding! If anyone has a BIA Machine and can offer any tips or insight or would let me know how they like it, that would be great. One of my main reasons for buying one was so that I could make some Christmas gifts using it. I'll be sure to post my first project using my new BIA machine when I can get in some stamping time.
My kids have started back to school and had homework the very first day and that means Mom gets to help them with their projects instead of my own.
To see some excellent examples of projects done with the BIA machine follow these links:

Great Recipes
OK, I'm far from being a good cook I can burn almost anything so if I can find something easy to make for dinner, that's great. I usually start thinking about dinner at about 4:30 in the afternoon and its the dreaded question .... what can I make for dinner that were all going to like and I can make fast. Last year I found a Kraft's Food & Family magazine while sitting at the doctors office and really liked it and found out that you can have it sent to your house for free. The recipes are pretty good every month they use basic foods, but this months I think are really good especially the Pumpkin Spice Frosted Snack Cake it looks yummy!

Swell News - Beate's Weekend Sketch
Well, I made this card for my friend Dawn who is expecting her fifth child. I'm very excited for her and her family, yes five children sounds like a lot, but she is a fabulous mother and loves children. I knew I wanted to make her a card so I borrowed this Swell News stamp set from my sister-in-law and happen to sit down to make the card last weekend when I saw Beate's sketch challenge and thought why not!
Hope she likes it.
Supplies: Swell News, Happiness BG, Looks Like Spring, Polka Dot BG stamp sets, Scalloped Circle Punch, Circle Punch, Piercer, White Gel Pen, Ribbon, Buttons, Coluzzle, Aqua Brush. Colors: Certainly Celery, Regal Rose, Apricot Appeal, Whisper White.

Color Challenge
For today's color challenge on splitcoast stampers the colors were groovy guava and always artichoke, well I don't have groovy guava so its cameo coral instead. I've always loved cards or boxes with interesting folds or little surprises, this card is called a tri-fold with a twist, its not the first time I've done this type of card, last time I used the unfrogettable stamp set. The butterfly on the front and ladybug inside have been stamped twice with one set cut out and popped up.
Supplies: Garden Whimsy, Whimsy Wheel, Marvy Scallop Punch, Coluzzle, Ribbon, Dazzling Diamonds, Art Institute Glitter (That went everywhere). Colors: Always Artichoke, Cameo Coral and Whisper White.

TV Junkie
OK, I'll admit it I must be a TV junkie! I never used to think of my self as a TV junkie but I kind of feel like that saying ......you know your a red neck when.....well I know I'm a TV junkie when.... I can think of six TV shows I'm really missing, I cant wait till all of the new fall shows start and when they do I'll need to watch TV almost every night just to see them all. I guess I could be worse, my mother circles all of her shows in her TV guide book when she gets it. My favorite TV show is Men in Trees (I'm still watching the reruns), whats your favorite? Take the poll to the right and lets find out which show is number one.

True Friend Tri-Fold Card
Well I had fun making this little card, I followed the tutorial on splitcoast stampers and it was easy. I think I might use this tri-fold pattern for my next stamp camp and do something for Halloween.
I kept this card fairly simple, I used my Stampin' Up markers to color the flower, thank U and ever grateful and I used the linen background stamp on the front, but its hard to see.
Supplies: True Friend, So Many Sayings, Canvas BG stamp sets, Photo Corner Punch, Circle Punch, Scalloped Circle Punch, Word Window Punch, Piercer, Copper Brad, Ribbon. Colors: Always Artichoke, Elegant Eggplant, Really Rust, Summer Sun and Whisper White.

Inspiration Challenge
This is my entry for the inspiration challenge for splitcoast stampers, its been a while since I've done a 3-D project so I thought I would give it a whirl. I'm not completely satisfied with how it came out, I think if I had used chocolate chip paper for the base of the box I would have liked it more. The inspiration this Saturday was a beaded purse and I thought that this box template just might work.

Goodies
These little goodies are a gift from another one of my talented friends. Dawn made this adorable key chain and gum holder for me, and I thought that I would share her work. I believe that she was inspired by a few ladies on splitcoast stampers, but to tell you the truth Dawn most of the time does not need inspiration. This is a woman that when we get together to stamp can whip out fifteen fabulous cards before batting an eyelash or asking for a glass of ice water. Dawn is a good friend and very sweet and is always creating cards or paper crafts for someone special in her life, if you have a chance to visit her gallery on splitcoast stampers give it a look: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=76670
Thanks Dawn :)
