You’re So Sweet - CTD729

Hello there! It’s time for this week’s Color Throwdown Challenge where we have the colors of red, pink and gold!
For my card I used the Pretty Pink Posh, Sweet Cherries stamp set and coordinating dies. I started out by stamping and die cutting a bunch of the cherry and flower images and then coloring them using copic markers and white gel pen for highlights. Once that was done I used the Outside in Stitched Rectangle dies and die cut one rectangle from black and white polka dot paper and another from white card stock.
Then I stamped my sentiment in the center of the white rectangle, adhered it to the black polka dot paper and card base and arranged my images around the sentiment. Once I had them where I wanted them, I used Press n’ Seal to lift them up, I added adhesive and foam tape and press the whole thing down in place.

Apple-solutely Awesome

Hello and Happy Labor Day to those in the U.S! Today I’m popping in to share a card set and apple themed gift bags using the new Lawn Fawn Apple-solutely Awesome stamp set and dies.
I originally wanted to make tags to go with my gift bags but decided square cards would work.
Supplies I used to create my cards: Apple-solutely Awesome stamp set and dies, Outside In Stitched Square dies, Copic markers, Cloudy Stencil and tumbled glass distress oxide ink, Everyday Sentiment Banners die, white gel pen and foam tape.
I put two gift bags together, one for my son’s doctor and another for his nurse. Having your son go through chemotherapy each week, you appreciate having good doctors and nurses to take care of your child. I wanted to give them each a little
something. I used the square cards I created as a kind of gift tag by putting each card in a clear cellophane bag and punching a hole in the top and tying them to the gift bags with bakers twine.

Exciting News! Hello Bluebird

Hello there, crafty friends! I’m excited to announce that I’m guest designing for Hello Bluebird's new release for the month of August!

I’ve always been a fan of Hello Bluebirds since day one and I’m thrilled to share what I’ve created using all of the adorable products from this month’s release!

To create my card, I stamped some of the images from the Bonfire Buddies set, then die cut them using the
coordinating dies and then colored them using copic markers. Once that was done I used the Campsite Scene die and die cut the different colored pieces of card stock (kraft, green, gray, white & light blue) to create my scene. After that I used some chipped sapphire distress oxide ink on the sky and some vintage photo and ground espresso on the ground piece which I also watered down and added splatters. I also used some going gray and handsome hunter inks to shade the trees and mountains and used a copic marker to add some detail to the birch tree. Once all of that was done, it was fun adding in each piece like fitting together a puzzle. Then I stamped my sentiment from the Skating Together set and then added my images popping up the two main characters with foam tape.

Fall Thank You - CTD668

Hi there! I’m hostess this week over at the Color Throwdown Challenge and I’ve chosen some fall colors with a pop of dark blue for all of us to create with. I hope you’ll take the time to play along!
For my card I created a mini slimline fall themed thank you card using the Hello Bluebird stamp set Fall Friends along with the coordinating Fall Friends dies and the new slimline dies. I colored all of my images with copic markers and used some walnut stain distress oxide ink to blend on the kraft card stock for the ground piece and then stamped my sentiment.

Feathered Friends - CTD623

Hello! I’m popping in with my card for our last Color Throwdown Challenge for this year. We’ve got the colors green, aqua and pink to create with and we hope you’ll play along.
For my card, I used two Ink to Paper/Papertrey Ink stamp sets to create a thank you card. I started out by using stamp set Blossoming Branches and the Blossoming Branches dies and stamping the images in hibiscus burst and raspberry fizz for the flowers, new leaf for the leaves and chocolate chip for the branches.
Next I used the stamp set Feathered Friends Mini 5 with the coordinating Feathered Friends Mini 5 dies. I love this set not only because I love birds but because I actually own two parakeet’s so using this set is extra fun. I stamped the parakeet in limeade ice and new leaf ink with canyon clay for the beak and feet and used tumbled glass distress oxide ink for his cere (which shows that he’s a male). I also used tumbled glass and peacock feathers to along with a stencil to blend my background. I stamped my sentiment and added all of my images, popping up the bird and three flowers with foam tape then added some iridescent glitter to the center of each flower.

You’re a Friend like Gnome Other - CTD610

Hello, hello! Today has been a gloomy day and on top of that, I woke up with a terrible migraine headache but now that its afternoon and I’ve had some Motrin, some tea and time to rest I was determined to get my card post for this week’s Color Throwdown Challenge.
For my card I used the new Hello Bluebird stamp set, Next Door Gnomes along with the slimline Gallery Frame Die #5. I stamped and die cut all of my images then colored them using Copic markers. Next I used the Gallery Frame Die #5 and die cut it first from white card stock and then from brown card stock for the inner frame. I used a white slimline card base which I covered with a piece of pumpkin pie card stock.
For my background, I used a cloud stencil and blended on some carved pumpkin distress oxide ink then die cut my hills using the Stitched Hillside Borders dies from a piece of mellow moss card stock and blended on some vintage photo distress ink on the hills and also on the birch trees that I die cut using the Birch Tree dies.
I used a few other Hello Bluebird stamp sets to add a fall look to my card including the Fairy Garden set for the smaller mushrooms, the Pumpkin Time set for the pumpkins and leaves, the snail from Garden Friends and the Pig Day set for the little bird.
I stamped my sentiment onto a banner I die cut using the Everyday Sentiment Banners die and adhered all of my images, popping up the three gnomes, the snail and butterfly with foam tape.

Thank You for Your Kindness - CTD606

Hello friends! It’s Wednesday and time for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge.
For my card I used the pretty stamps from The Greetery to create a thank you card. I started out by using the Sprinkled with Kindness stamp set and die and die cut several of the watering cans. Next I used my Misti tool and stamped the multi step watering can in speckled egg, cracked pistachio, a bit of brushed corduroy and weathered wood distress oxide inks. After that I used the Budding Beauties Summer stamp set and dies and stamped the peony images in blush blossom (su), melon berry (pti), spring moss and simply chartreuse ink for the leaves. I also used the Petite Eucalyptus stamp set and dies and stamped them in ocean tides (stamping off for the first step and full strength for the second) along with ripe avocado ink for the stems.
Once my watering can and flower/stems were complete, I die cut a piece of white card stock using the Outside In Stitched Rectangle dies and blended on some antique linen distress oxide ink in the center and used a piece of scrap paper as a stencil and blended on some brushed corduroy distress oxide ink. I stamped my sentiment in the upper left corner and adhered my images, popping up the watering can and peonies with foam tape. To finish off my card I added a few iridescent sequins and stamped my envelope.
