You're a Blast!

This is one of the cards that we made at my last Stamp Camp, I wanted to have us make a birthday card for a boys birthday because I always seem to do girly flowery cards most of the time. I cased this card from Beate's blog Fresh & Fun because I loved her layout and design. I changed my card into a full card and used the East Coast Prep designer paper and different colors, along with using the Canvas stamp for the bottom portion of the card (Real Red panel).

Supplies: Pun Fun, Canvas BG, East Coast Prep designer paper, Small star punch, Small circle punch, Photo corner punch, Brads, Ribbon, Aqua brush, Piercer w/mat, Pop dots. Colors: Tempting Turquoise, Real Red, Old Olive, More Mustard, Whisper White.

Bear Swap

This is one of the cards (out of six) that I ended up making for the bear swap I'm in on Splitcoast Stampers. This card is fairly simple because what I didn't realize before I ordered two of these Gruffies stamps is that the images are so large, it doesn't leave much room on your card for anything else. I colored the image with my Copic markers and then added some Dazzling Diamonds on the lilacs, I also used my Cuttlebug Swiss Dot embossing folder on the Orchid Opulence piece. The Thinking of you is from the Warmest Regards SU stamp set and is matted in Always Artichoke, the same color of the card base and mat for the image. I hope the other swappers like them!

Thanks for dropping in!

Bloom

Happy Saturday everyone! Today has been a productive day for me with cleaning the house and organizing and cleaning my craft studio.
I made this card last week thinking I would use it for my Stamp Camp last Wednesday, I was trying to come up with a card using this Bloomin' Beautiful stamp set from the Stampin' Up Occasions mini and this is what I came up with. I didn't use this card for camp because I ended up going with other projects, but I don't think it came out so bad. The flowers in this stamp set are so pretty!

Supplies: Bloomin' Beautiful, Nestabilities dies, Ribbon, Brads, Ticket corner punch, Circle punches, Dazzling Diamonds, Aqua brush, Pop dots. Colors: Mellow Moss, So Saffron, Rose Red.

A Tag and Computer/Email Problems

I've been tagged by Kim from Stampin' in the Rain, if you've never visited Kim's blog you really need to go and check it out, her work is fabulous. Now I'm supposed to list seven random things about myself, so here it goes.

7 random things about myself:

1. I'm always striving to be organized, but still feel like a disorganized mess.

2. I've always wanted to travel to the East Coast and still haven't gone.

3. This is going to make me sound like a pack rat and a weirdo, but I don't think I am LOL. I have a hard time letting go of dresses from the past. OK so I still have my prom dress, wedding shower dress, my MIL's (who's passed away) dress that she wore to our wedding and my wedding gown still in my closet, yeah I guess this does make me sound rather strange.

4. I love Fall and Halloween, its my favorite time of the year.

5. I think if there is a hard way of doing something, for some reason I've got to do it that way. But I guess its one way of learning.

6. I enjoy doing at least one large 1000 piece puzzle a year, I like the Home Town Collection by Artist Heronim, there is a cat hidden in each puzzle.

7. Some day I would like to take some computer classes and learn about different programs and really learn a lot more about Photoshop.

Now its my turn to tag 7 other bloggers:
Dawn from Dawn's Special Creations
Deb from Sharing my Obsession
Tina from Wooded Views
Charly from Charly's Crazy Corner
Cindy from Cindy Haffner's Corner
Wanda from My Creative Corner
and sure why not Em from Bloggabella

Thanks Kim

Tip for the day, if you use AT&T Yahoo for your email and you keep all of your contact information there, print off a hard copy to save just in case. Tuesday I was practically crying because a few months ago we switched to Comcast for our Internet service and were told that I could keep the same email address and everything would be the same. Well on Tuesday when I went to check my email a notice came up that said my AT&T Yahoo service was cancelled and I would either have to pay for another AT&T services or transfer over to a free Yahoo account. Needless to say if anyone tried to send me an email on Tuesday I didn't get it and everything is still a mess.

Summer Happiness

This card was made with another one of the stamps I purchased at Hobby Lobby, I've seen so many cute cards on Splitcoast using these little bees and this bee stamp looked perfect for a summer time card. This card is pretty straight forward, I used my Copic markers to color the bee and added some Spica glitter to the wings, antennas and salt, I also embossed the bottom half of the card using the Swiss Dot embossing folder. The happiness saying from the SU stamp set Warm Words was stamped and then punched out using the large and small oval punches.

4th of July

Can you believe that next week is the fourth of July? for some reason I thought I had another week (other than this one) before the month of June was over. Why does time seem to go by so much faster the older you get? As a kid it felt like the summer would last forever, now as an adult the seasons feel like there flying by.

This Biker Bee image is a stamp that I purchased from my last trip to Hobby Lobby, I couldn't resist buying it especially after see my friend Dawn's card using this cute little bee, besides all of their stamps were 40% off so I got this one and a few others. Its hard to tell from the photo but I used my Distressed Stripes Cuttlebug embossing folder on the red panel and my Spica glitter pen on the bee's wings and antennas. This was a fun card to make and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out!

Supplies: Biker Bee - Stampendous, Sparkle - Warm Words - SU, Doodlebug designer paper, Distressed Stripes embossing folder, Square Nestabilities, Copic markers, Spica glitter pen, Large and small oval punches, Striped ribbon, Pop dots (for main image). Colors: Brilliant Blue, Real Red, Whisper White.

Scrappy Sketch #21 - Glamor Girl

These scrapbook pages are for this weekends Scappy Sketch #21, I had these pages done last night and then this morning I woke up and looked at them, and guess what, the scrapbook fairy didn't come! I had the title letters cut out, but they looked to floaty, so I changed them and cut them into tags instead using my Cricut.

I'm loving my Cricut lately and I'm happy that I just invested in two more alphabets because I like all of the fun things you can cut out with it! The only frustrating thing about it is that I need a new mat (which is supposed to be sticky so your paper stays put) mine has lost all of its sticky, so lets just say I was doing a little hair pulling out trying to cut some of these flowers!

These pictures are of my daughter from her first manicure that Grandma treated her to for her birthday. I still need to add journaling under the title, were I left room.
On the close up of the flowers you can see that I used turquoise glitter paper on the large flower.

Don't forget to stop by and check out Cyndi's pages for this fun sketch!

Supplies: Doodlebug designer paper, Cricut cartrages - George and Basic Shapes (for flowers), All Mixed Up (for title), Scalloped scissors, SU flower punch and circle punch (for centers of flowers), Doodlebug sugared glitter paper. Colors: Tempting Turquoise, Pumpkin Pie, Green Galore - SU, Pink & Lavender.

Surfafella

Tonight's post is a quick one, I used a stamped image that I received of this Surfafella and tried to make him work for this card. I thought he would go with my last post which was Kinibella, after all who would save her in the water if she got a cramp, LOL! I always have a hard time creating masculine cards and I know a lot of you out there feel the same way.
For some reason my Copic markers were just not blending on this paper, when normally I don't have that problem. I used Old Olive for the card base, East Coast Prep designer paper for the background, More Mustard stamped with the Canvas background stamp, Tempting Turquoise and Real Red for the mats on the image and saying. I also added a touch of silver Gelly pen to his sunglasses and whistle.

Thanks for looking!

Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka Dot Bikini

Happy first day of summer! I thought I would post this Kinibella card that I made last night seeing that it is the first day of summer today and she definitely looks like shes ready for summer. Its hard to see in this picture (unless you click on the photo to enlarge it) but I embossed the bottom part of the background Summer Sun with my Cuttlebug Swiss Dot embossing folder and after coloring this Bella with my Copic markers I used Spica glitter pen on the flower in her hair, on her basket and her sandals.
Supplies: Kinibella, Sunshine - imaginisce, K&Company designer paper, Cuttlebug, Ribbon, Copic markers, Spica glitter pen, Large yellow brad, Flower, Pop dots. Colors: Pumpkin Pie, Summer Sun, Whisper White.

I just had to share this picture of my two older kids at Cedar Point this last Tuesday. A lot of the time their fighting at home, the usual brother sister stuff, but Tuesday the two of them were best buds and having so much fun! It was so great to see the two of them getting along so well, the trip to Cedar Point was worth every penny and the kids can't wait to go again next year!
Have a fantabulous day!

Beary Full of Truffles

I'm currently typing this in my sleep I think, since this afternoon we just got back from Cedar Point the amusement park. Yesterday we drove down to Ohio and got to the park around one in the afternoon and stayed until almost 10:00pm, then stayed the night at a hotel. It was the first time our kids had ever been to Cedar Point and they loved it, but mom is wiped out!

Being super tired and stamping just doesn't go together for me, I started out trying to make this card work for Splitcoast's sketch challenge today but I don't think it really qualifies. I purchased this Stampabilities Gruffies the bear stamp for a swap I'm in. Why I signed up for a bear swap when I had no bear stamps is beyond me, I guess it was an accuse to buy more stamps. I'm not sure I'm really crazy with how this card turned out, what do you think?

Supplies: Beary Full of Truffles stamp, All My Memories designer paper, Copic markers, Scalloped scissors, whole punch, Ribbon. Colors: Chocolate Chip, Creamy Caramel, Whisper White.

TECC #20

This card is for my daughter's birthday today, shes eleven and excited about her birthday party today and having family come over! I used Taylor's Cupcake Challenge sketch from Taylored Expressions to help me pull the card together, except I flipped the sketch. I used the hula penguin stamp from imaginisce and stamped three in black and three in Garden Green, then cut out just the grass skirts and glittered them up. The section of yellow paper behind the penguins is glitter paper and the Cameo Coral panel has been embossed with the Swiss Dot Cuttlebug embossing folder.

Scrappy Sketch #20

Its time for Cyndi's weekend sketch and this weekends Scrappy Sketch #20 was a fun one! Even though these pages look like there for the fourth of July because of all the red white and blue there actually for my daughter's first summer cheerleading camp. I'm so far behind in my scrapbooking, these pictures are from two years ago and I probably have pages to do from way before that.
Instead of the circles on the sketch I used stars cut out of white sugar coated Doodlebug paper and used my Cricut to cut them out as well as the word Cheer. In the pictures these pages look so flat, but in real life the glitter paper is quite sparkly and the SU Classic Stars wheel that I rolled on the bottom section of the pages really shows up great. Pop on over and see Cyndi's knock out pages for this sketch.

Supplies: Classic Stars wheel SU, Large and small star punches SU, Cricut cartridges - Mickey font, Opposites Attract and Basic George (for the large stars), Star buttons, Red star elets, Striped ribbon SU, Doodlebug sugar coated paper, Karen Foster snap stamps for the words on red star. Colors: Brilliant Blue SU, Red & Blue Bazzill card stock.

Thanks for a fun sketch Cyndi!

Enjoy Your Day

This is another card that I made for the kids to give to my DH on Father's Day. The image was given to me by my friend Dawn and I've been wanting to make him into a card ever since I got him. The designer paper is some old paper from my stash with no name on it, but I thought it went with the theme of the card. I used my Copic markers to color the image and used a silver gelly roll pen on the flipper and the metal piece on the lid of the grill. I think its a fun card for the kids to give their dad, not that their dad looks like this monkey, LOL, but I'm sure he'll like it.

Supplies: Changito monkey, Riveting, Copic markers, Brads, Circle punches, Pop dots. Colors: Basic Black, Real Red, Whisper White.

Thanks for stopping by!

Father's Day

This mans wallet card is a case from Lorri and her blog Dream Big, I saw this card a few weeks ago and knew I wanted to try and make one for my husband for father's day. The only thing different about my wallet is that I only did one pocket on the right inside and I made a small card that pulls out using the round tab punch, you can click on the picture to get a closer look. Along with the lucky buck and little card I'm going to put a gift card to my DHs favorite store and a picture of our three kids in the other two pockets.

Now I'll have to delete this post off of his email for tomorrow so DH won't see his card.

Supplies: All Holidays, Sanded BG, Define your Life, Expressive Flexible Phrases, Everyday Flexible Phrases, Round tab punch, Large oval punch (for inside pocket), Brads, Piercer w/mat, Tacky Tape, Sponge. Colors: Chocolate Chip, Naturals Ivory, Creamy Caramel.
And one Quality Husband!

I've been tagged!

Lorien Clark from her blog Stamps N More tagged me and my friend Deb from Sharing my Obsession also tagged me, so I'll play along.

1. Life 10 years ago: 1998 hmm well DH and I were married for six years then and had our oldest Zachary and our daughter Gabrielle and lived in a cute little house with a big backyard and a tree swing. I worked part time at a scrapbook store and DH was still working in the landscape business. The house was small, the kids were young and money was really tight, but looking back those were some of the best days ever.

2. 5 things on today's "to do list": OMG just 5? laundry, vacuum, shop for party supplies and favors for my daughters birthday, take my daughter to dance, and make dinner.

3. A snack that I enjoy: Popcorn, chocolate, Chips and salsa, you know the whole salty sweet thing.

4. Things I would do if I were a millionaire: Pay off the bills, buy my DH a great fishing boat, go on a dream vacation with my family, and hire a cleaning lady!

5. Places I have lived: I've lived in a total of four different cities all of them in south eastern Michigan and in the suburbs.

Thanks for the tag Lorien, it was fun!

I'm Back and Scrappy Sketch #19

Whew, I'm sooooo glad that our power finally came back on late last night, it wouldn't have been so bad not having power if it wasn't so darn hot! It was around 94 degrees yesterday and humid, so I packed the kids up and went to the mall during the day and when we got home our house was a hot box. I must be spoiled because I love our central air conditioning and wouldn't live with out it.

I had good intentions on posting these scrapbook pages for Cyndi's Scrappy Sketch #19 this last Saturday, but our weekend was super busy so I just thought I would post them on Sunday, yeah right, that would have happened if I had power. I guess the old saying is right, don't put off tomorrow what you can do today.
These pages are from my son Connor's first birthday, I'm going to do another double page spread for pictures with family, but I just couldn't resist doing these pages of him with his birthday cupcake!
To check out Cyndi's pages for the sketch click here.

Supplies: Bazzill card stock, It's a party Elmo Jolee's stickers, Ribbon, Coluzzle, Yellow doodlebug glitter paper (for the ONE), Accucut letters for the ONE, Cricut Mickey font.

NO POWER

I'm posting from my phone because we have no power at our house due to bad storms that we had over the weekend. I'm hoping the outage is not for long, its 90 degrees & I have most of our food in a cooler :(

Birthday Invites

These little penguin cards are invitations for my daughter's birthday which is next Sunday (yep on Fathers Day). Gabby was born on Fathers Day and her birthday usually falls on Fathers Day most years. I found this cute Imaginisce penguin stamp at Archivers along with the flip flop stamp, but was bumbed out because I couldn't find the hula girl penguin to go with him. The cutest cards that I've seen made with these stamps is Heather Nichols, you have to go and take a look for yourself and I know you'll agree!

These invites were fairly easy to make, I colored each penguin with my copic markers after I stamped them out with Brilliance ink, then added Stickles glitter to his paints and Popsicle. The background panel is embossed using my Cuttlebug with the Divine Swirls folder, the strip of designer paper is by Sandylion Ribbon Stripe (fun paper). I also used the SU stamp sets Hugs & Wishes and All About U for the inside info.

Colors: Green Galore, Tempting Turquoise, Only Orange and Whisper White.

Let the Summer Begin!

Today is the last day of school for my kids, they actually had a half a day so their home now for the summer. Hopefully our schedule will start to slow down a bit now that their out of school, even though they still have baseball and dance going on. This card is for my daughter Gabby to take along with a gift certificate to her girlfriends birthday sleep over later today, its hard to see in the picture but the bottom Summer Sun piece is embossed with the CB Swiss Dot embossing folder and the cupcake is outlined with Spica glitter pen. I used the card sketch over at Splitcoast Stampers this last Wednesday, so I guess I'm a tad late, but it did help me put this card together. The gift certificate we bought for her friend is from Justice (girls clothing store) has a monkey on it and we bought a gift certificate holder that's a stuffed monkey holding a cupcake, so I thought this card would go good.

Supplies: Inkadinkado - Birthday Cupcake, CB Swiss Dot, Ribbon, K& Company Berry Sweet designer paper, Circle & Scalloped circle Nestabilites, Pop dots (for cupcake and small heart). Colors: Pink Passion, Summer Sun, Mint green Bazzill, Whisper White.

I have more to share today, I just hope I have time to up load it onto my blog.

Tart & Tangy Lemons

Tonight I made two matching cards like the one above to go with the two gift bags that I have to give to the secretaries at my daughters school. I found these lemon and clove hand soap and lotion sets at TJ Max and instantly thought of stamping a lemon card to go with them.

On the card base I used Yoyo Yellow card stock and stamped the Print Pattern background to match the gift bag using the same color. On the center piece I stamped the lemons in Versa Mark on white paper and heat embossed using clear embossing powder, then brayed over the top with Yoyo Yellow and Summer Sun and matted this piece with Old Olive. Then stamped the Thank You on top with Stazon. The round lemon on the top was stamped in Versa Mark first then in Yoyo Yellow and then rocked and rolled in Summer Sun, then dusted with clear embossing powder, heated and punched out with a circle punch. I hope the ladies like these!
