Effortless Beauties Card Set - CTD636

Good morning and happy Wednesday! Today I have a card set that I created for this week’s Color Throwdown Challenge where the colors are blush pink, dark pink and cream.
Once I saw the colors for this week’s Color Throwdown Challenge I pictured the card above in my mind. To create my cards I used the Papertrey Ink/Ink to Paper stamp set Effortless Beauties along with the coordinating Effortless Beauties dies. I used the same supplies on both cards.
For my first card, I used the Cover Plate: Vines for the background and used it to die cut white card stock. I stamped all the leaves from the Effortless Beauties set using antique linen distress oxide ink and chocolate chip ink and the smaller bud flowers were stamped in pink passion ink.
To stamp the roses, I first stamped them in my lightest pink, pink pirouette and then using the same solid stamp I rolled the edges of it in pretty in pink ink. After that I inked up the second layer for the rose stamp in pink passion ink and stamped off. Then finally I inked up the same stamp image again in pink passion except I wiped off all the ink on the stamp except for the center of the rose and stamped again. I hope that makes sense, it took a bit longer to stamp each rose but I liked how it gave them some dimension and more color.
For my second card I used the same supplies except I created a horizontal card and instead of used the Vines Cover Plate as it is I cut it apart and used the leafy vines to tuck in around my roses and leaves.
To finish off both of my cards, I used some chunky glitter on all of the roses and added some sparkling clear sequins.

You Brighten my Day! - CTD635

Hello! Today I’m sharing my card for this week’s Color Throwdown Challenge where I used some Hello Bluebird supplies to create a springtime scene.
To create my card I used the Hello Bluebird stamp set Picked for You along with the Picked for You dies. I started out by stamping my images, die cutting them and then coloring them using copic markers. For my background, I die cut a rectangle using the Outside In Stitched Rectangle dies and then blended on some distress oxide ink in tumbled glass, shabby shutters and antique linen.

Craft Room Tour

Hello there! Today I’m finally sharing pictures and a video of my former craft room. I say former because two months ago we moved into a new house and I’m in the process of putting together another craft space for myself.

You can click on this link to watch the video tour (if I sound out of breath in the video it’s because this is the third take I tried doing without editing).

The craft room I had was in the basement of our last house and was a cozy retreat that I loved, it wasn’t very big but it suited its purpose. On one side of the room was an L shaped counter space that I did my stamping, scrapbooking and any paper crafting. Across from that on the entry door wall was my computer desk.
The room was painted in a pale yellow since I was in the basement I wanted something warm and cheerful. I added colorful boxes from the Container Store and baskets from Micheal’s craft store and Hobby Lobby.

In the picture above you can see the area where I’d sit and create. On the counter top from the left I had a cubby shelf which stored ink pads, wood stamps and deco, next to that I had my ink blending brushes and distress inks in an Organize More holder. In the corner was my tool catty and above that I took an old lamp shade and striped it down and made a mobile out of ribbon die cut flowers and birds.
In the picture above you can see one of the drawers under the cubby shelf which held my re-inkers for ink pads, heat embossing tools and glitter.
In the pictures above and below you can see the area to the right of my work space which held a white desk organizer for pre-cut and scored card bases, white card stock and some basic tools. Next to that I had some red cloth baskets which held my copic makers and 6x6 paper pads and then my big shot die cutter and trimmers. Under that area in the top drawer is where I stored my acrylic blocks, glue dots, mini ink cubes, stamp positioners and tape gun.
Below you can see the ink pad holder for all of my Stampin’ Up ink pads, a small collection of Lawn Fawn cards I created on top and above that I made some wall art using some wood embroidery hoops and some fat squares for quilting. I took one of the smaller hoops with fabric and covered it with buttons in rainbow order using a hot glue gun.
In the cabinet under my Stampin’ Up ink pad holder, I had two pull out file drawers which held most of my colored card stock.
At the long end of my L shaped counter top and the back of my craft room I had an Ikea unit where I stored some of my scrapbooks, magazines, extra tools, my 12x12 paper and a wire basket full of wood block stamps.
To the right of the door and across from my work area was my computer desk or as I referred to it “command central”. Above my computer I had three square cork boards which held list of almost all of the stamp sets I have and colored inks I have as well as a small calendar. This is where I would type up my blog post and having most of my supplies on list right in front of my face was helpful.

On the wall to the left of my computer desk I had four magnetic boards where I displayed pictures and a few cards. Under that I had my Cricket die cutting machine and below that on a cart I found at a thrift store I had my printer and silhouette machine.
Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you liked seeing a peek at my former craft room. I do miss it, I miss the built in cabinets and counter tops but in my new space I’m on the main floor of the house and have two wonderful windows with a view.

Effortless Beauties Card Set - CTD633

Hello, hello! Happy Wednesday! It’s time for this week’s Color Throwdown Challenge and we have some lovely soft colors for all of us to create with.
I created a set of two cards using this week’s colors and the new Effortless Beauties stamp set and coordinating dies. For both cards I used the same pale blue Lawn Fawn background paper, impression plate and the Feathered Friends Mini 1 stamp set and die. I also used the same ink colors on both card which were bashful blue, kraft, smoky slate and basic gray.
For both cards I used a retired scalloped rectangle and oval die that was part of the shaker kit from Papertrey Ink and I die cut them from white card stock and then used the plaid impression plate for the center. All of my images were adhered with the birds and a few flowers popped up with foam tape and then I glued on some sequins and added some wink of stella clear glitter pen to each rose.

Effortless Beauties - CTD632

Hello there! It’s time for this week’s Color Throwdown Challenge where we have some cheerful spring colors to create with.
For my card I used the new Papertrey Ink/Ink to Paper stamp set, Effortless Beauties along with the Effortless Beauties dies to create a thinking of you card. To create my card, I use the Effortless Beauties dies and die cut a bunch from white card stock. Next I stamp my images in daffodil delight, crushed curry, blush blossom, melon berry and for the leaves I used new leaf, spring moss and ripe avocado. For my background, I used retired PTI impression plate and a scallop frame from a PTI kit. I adhered all of my images popping up the three roses and then glued on some Moonshine sequins
