With Deepest Sympathy

Hi there!  Today I'm sharing a sympathy card that I created using the My Favorite Things stamp set Mini Modern Blooms.
I created this card last week using the same basic layout and flower arrangement as this card only in a different color palette and using a different sentiment from the MFT set More Essential Sentiments. This time I used the ink colors, tropical teal, hawaiian shores, royal velvet and an SU color, lavender lace along with limeade ice and new leaf for the leaves.

Have a great day!

Hello Sunshine - CTD#377

Hello there!  Hope you're having a good day!  It's Wednesday and time for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge.  Our hostess for this week is Lisa who chose this fantastic color palette and inspiration photo.
For my card I used the Papertrey Ink stamp sets Noted, Rosie Posie and Rosie Posie Step 2 along with the coordinating dies.  I started out with a white card base, added a kraft panel then a panel of watercolor paper that I had watercolored using mustard seed distress ink.  Once that was dried, I stamped the hexagon image from the Rosie Posie set in gray ink onto my watercolored panel, stamping once fully inked and the second time stamped off.  Once my background was finished, I stamped my sunshine sentiment in the lower right corner and added my die cut and stamped rose with leaves, popping up the rose with foam adhesive and then added my die cut Hello which was die cut several times from charcoal gray card stock and layered together.  To finish off my card, I added a few silver sequins.

For my card, I drew my inspiration from the different color blues and the orange within the inspiration photo above.  I used the new PTI stamp set Bold Blossoms along with the coordinating dies.  I did a ombre watercolor wash for my background, stamped my outlined flowers in enchanted evening ink and then added my die cut and stamped flowers and leaves which I stamped in pumpkin pie and enchanted evening.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the hop!

Hugs

Hello, crafty friends!  I hope all of you are safe and warm especially those that are effected by the east coast snowstorm.  I've a Valentine's Day card I'm sharing today using the Papertrey Ink stamp set, Big Hugs along with the Cover Plate: Hearts die.
I used a piece of watercolor paper to die cut the hearts cover plate, then using three different distress inks, picked raspberry, worn lipstick and spun sugar, I did a wash of watercolor going from dark to light.  Once that was almost dry, I used a paint brush to add some pick raspberry splashes of color and set it off to the side to completely dry.  Next I took the hearts that were die cut from the watercolor paper and did direct ink to paper using the three different inks and, laying them on paper towel sprayed them with water to activate the ink.  I also die cut hearts from a small piece of metallic gold paper.  Once that was done, I laid my ombre watercolored piece on top of my white card base using it as a guide and taped my hearts into place, popping some of them with foam adhesive.  Then I actually taped my ombre piece onto my card front using foam adhesive and added my die cut Hugs and xoxo banner.

You're in My Thoughts - CTD#376

Hello!  It's Wednesday and time for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge #376.  Our hostess for today is the talented, Jodi who chose this pretty inspiration photo and colors.
For my card I used the My Favorite Things stamp set and Die-namics Mini Modern Blooms and an older MFT set, More Essential Sentiments.  I started out with a white card base, then added a layer of kraft card stock, then a piece of My Mind's Eye designer paper that I matted in white.  On top of that, I added a vertical piece of regal rose card stock and my die cut circle which I stamped with my sentiment.  Once that was all in place, I die cut and stamped each of my leaves and flowers using regal rose, riding hood red, kraft and ocean tides and arranged them along the bottom of the circle, popping some up with foam adhesive.  To finish my card off, I added three iridescent sequins.

Cheeky Monkey!

Hello there!  I hope you're having a relaxing Sunday.  Today I'm popping in with a card I created inspired by a few different challenges.  To start with, I used the adorable My Favorite Things stamp set and Die-namics, Cheeky Monkey (this set is too fun!) and this week's My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge #263 for my layout.
Once I determined the stamps and the layout for my card, I found the Fusion Challenge with it's bright cheerful colors and chevrons, then seeing that this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge was all about Stenciling I incorporated that into my card as well by using a chevron stencil underneath my sentiment banner.  The monkey and bananas were all watercolored using ink refills and then I added a few sprayed drops of color with my brush. I used summer sun and raspberry fizz inks to not only watercolor but stencil and the same colors for cardstock.

Happy Birthday - CTD#375

Hi there, friends!  It's time for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge #375.  Joan has got some fun colors for us to create with and we hope you'll play along.
For my card I used the MFT stamp set Adorable Elephants to create a birthday card.  I used this week's CTD colors and the Retro Sketches Challenge #197 for my layout.  I started out with a white card base, added a daffodil delight panel which I stamped with my sentiment and a horizontal strip of doodlebug designs paper.  Next I die cut a square and scallop mat and sponged the square with aqua mist ink stenciling a cloudy sky and added a die cut hill.  Once that was done I die cut, stamped and colored my images using Copic markers and added them to the little scene, adhering my elephant and kite with foam tape.  As a finishing touch I added some yellow stickles to the flower centers.

I Love Mew

Hello, crafty friends and happy Thursday!  Today I've got a card that I created for the My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge #262.  And just to clear things up, with all of the cat cards I've been creating I am not a crazy cat lady, or at least I don't think I am.  I do have a cat and I can sometimes be crazy but does that make me a crazy cat lady? Probably.  I just thought that the two cat stamp sets (I knead You & Cat-itude) that MFT sells were adorable and knew I'd have fun creating with them.
When I took a look at this week's MFT sketch challenge and the MFT stamps I own, I immediately thought about my own cat, Chloe who I rescued last year and is the sweetest loving little kitten but who can also be mischievous.  She loves to be right where I am, either in my lap, laying over my computer keyboard while I'm trying to type or in my craft room with me.  One day while I was home alone in my craft room, I heard a noise upstairs and grabbed my sharpest craft scissors to go investigate only to find out that the noise was coming from my craft room ceiling and that somehow, Chloe had gotten up in the dropped ceiling of my craft room and couldn't get out, lol (see picture below).  She loves to be up high perched on things like most cats, which gave me the idea for my card.
I used the cute MFT I Knead You stamp set along with the coordinating dies, some Copic markers to color my images and some scrap designer paper from my stash and all three of the cats where adhered to my card with foam tape.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
