Enjoy every moment

Tonight I decided to post something different other than the last two Pun Fun cards. This card was refreshing to make, maybe because of the colors I used. These colors make me think of some place warm or tropical, which sounds pretty good to me considering were supposed to have around 8-10" of snow starting tonight. My kids are hoping for a snow day tomorrow and I think their going to get.

Supplies: Enjoy Every Moment, All in a Row, All Scallops, Ribbon, Brad, Coluzzle, Piercer w/mat, pop dots. Colors: Cool Caribbean, Taken with Teal, Cameo Coral and Whisper White.

Two More Pun Fun

Well I hope your not sick of seeing these cutesy animal cards, bear with me if you are because there is only two more left. OK, I have a few jokes for ya but you have to promise to laugh -
How do you make a skunk stop smelling?
Plug up its nose!

Where do sheep get their hair cut?
At the baa-baa shop! ha ha ha

I thought you would like these jokes that go along with these cards, yes there kids jokes but there the only jokes I felt I could actually share on my blog.
The details: the skunk card up top I used the stamp set All Scallops along with the Pun Fun set and I also used my Cuttlebug embossing folder (gosh I love that machine) on the Green Galore piece. I used my scalloped circle Nestabilities dies on both cards and my aqua brush to color the images. The Lamb card to the right I used my Polka Dot BG stamp (yes its my favorite, I use it all the time) and the bottom of the So Saffron piece and the pink band, I used the Happiness BG stamp. There is dazzling diamonds on the heart and the head of the lamb is popped up and his whole body is colored softly with Pretty in Pink. On the drop down circle tag, I used the word window punch and folded it in half and then sandwiched it on each side of the circles using a rhinestone brad.

One more day until Stampin' Up's Sale-A-Bration starts!

More Pun Fun and Computer Talk

Well I finally had my husband show me how to change an Adobe Photoshop file into a JPeg so that I could use a watermark. I had the watermark part down after playing around with Photoshop last year and help from my husband but it always seemed like just another step to do before uploading a card to my blog. Maybe I'm just lazy, but by the time I make a card, take a picture of the card, edit the picture a tad, then load it onto blogger and type a little ditty about it, adding an extra step just didn't sound like fun. But now that I have the hang of adding a watermark and changing the file it shouldn't be to hard. OK I'll stop whining now :o)
Here are two more out of the eight cards I made with the Pun Fun stamp set from Stampin' Up.

The color combinations on both of these cards are from the Stampin' Up Color Coach (AKA the color wheel of wonder) some times when your brain isn't working in full color you just need help.

A few details about the cards: the whale card above I used the Cheesecloth BG, an aqua brush to color the whale and applied dazzling diamonds to the water spout then crystal effects on the spout and waves. The bird card I used my Cuttlebug embossing folder for the BG, a row of circles from All in a Row on the Celery piece, added brads, then used Itty Bitty BGs on the Cameo Coral piece. Again I used my aqua brush to color the bird and the All in a Row set to do the circles on the photo corner.

Pun Fun!

Last night I started out thinking that I was going to make a card for two challenges and got totally side tracked and ended up pulling out my Pun Fun stamp set. After looking at the stamps in the set I thought, you know what I'm going to make cards for every stamp in this box! So many times I get a new stamp set and use just a few of the stamps in the set and the rest are neglected. So not this time baby, I'm workin this set!
These are just two of the eight cards that I made last night, and let me tell ya, the ink was flyin!

If you took a look at this set in the Stampin' Up catalog and said I don't think so, well after see all of the cards I made, I hope you change your mind because this stamp set if so fun to work with!
If you click on the pictures of the cards you can see that: the cup of java or cocoa has dazzling diamonds on it, the background has been embossed with my Cuttlebug, the Pretty in Pink panel has been stamped with the Paisley BG and on the bottom I stamped a row of the dotted scallop from the stamp set All Scallops.
The hippo card: I stamped the hippo and then stamped just the head again, cut it out and pop dotted it, I used Crystal Effects on her balloon and my Nestabitlities square scallop die for a mat. I stamped a row of dots on the Apricot Appeal with the All in a Row stamp set and used the Polka Dot BG on the Bashful Blue.

Thank you for stopping by, it means the world to me!

Happiness Valentine

One of my favorite color combinations is Chocolate Chip and Pretty in Pink, so when I got my hands on the new Stampin' Up Spring/Summer Collection catalog and saw the Boho West collection on page 12-13 I knew I was in trouble. The new stamp sets, the pretty designer paper, the punches......they were calling my name.
Needless to say I used the color combo from the Boho collection on this card, along with a little bit of the Berry Bliss designer paper. The stamp set I used on this card is a hostess set called A Little Bit of Happiness. This hostess stamp set is so sweet, I can see myself using it quite a lot, its a set of four stamps with some really nice images. If you click on the picture above you can see that three of the hearts on this card have been popped up and that I used some dazzling diamonds.

Supplies: A Little Bit of Happiness, Polka Dot BG, Holidays & Wishes, Berry Bliss designer paper, Ribbon, Dazzling diamonds, Pop dots. Colors: Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Pretty in Pink and Whisper White.

Hope your enjoying your weekend!

SC160 - Loveybella

Thank goodness for St. Valentine or Hallmark or who ever came up with Valentines day, they must have thought we all really need a holiday in the middle of winter that included romance and flowers and....... chocolate of course! Lots and lots of chocolate!!!

This Loveybella Valentine card is for this weeks sketch challenge on Splitcoast Stampers. I turned the sketch to go vertical so that I could use this Bella stamp. For some reason this card still feels like its missing something, I tried adding ribbon and it just didn't look right. Its hard to see but I added red stickles to the flower wreath and the one in her hair. I used my Cuttlebug to emboss the background panels, my copic markers to color my Bella and then used pop dots for under the main image.

Thanks for visiting!

I'm Seeing Pink Spotted Elephants!

Yes this is yet another project we made for stamp camp the other night. This is a smaller sized card, its 4 1/4" square and has lots of layers on it. I was inspired to make this card by Cambria from her blog Stamp a Little Love Baby!, I thought her card was sooooo adorable, I couldn't help my self. I did change a few little things on this card, for instance I paper pieced the elephant using some of the Bali Breeze designer paper from Stampin' Up (such yummy paper). I also used my nestabilities square die to make a scalloped mat for the stamped elephant image, then used pop dots under it to give my card some dimension. I then stamped the butterfly image and used my 1 1/4" circle punch to punch it out, but doing this you end up loosing one wing so I stamped it separate cut out the wing and then glued it on, making it look like it could fly away!
Thanks for the inspiration Cambria!

Supplies: Happy Heart Day, Bali Breezes DP, Nestabilities, Circle punches, Ribbon from Meijers, Aqua brush, Pop dots. Colors: Purely Pomegranate, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White.

A Layout Case

Yes the layout for this card is a total case and sorry because there were so many people on Splitcoast that used this layout that I can't give credit to any one person, heck maybe it was a sketch challenge for all I know! Any who, this is another card that the ladies made last night at stamp camp, not a whole lot of stamping but I really liked the way it came out.

Supplies: Priceless, Berry Bliss designer paper, Double stitched ribbon, Brads, Pop dots. Colors: Close to Cocoa, Purely Pomegranate, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White.

My Darling Husband

Well I just wanted to thank everyone for all the prayers and concern about my husbands accident the other day, its very kind of all of you to leave such nice comments wishing him well. He is still sore in his neck and back but has reassured me that he's going to be alright (men are so stubborn and wont go to the doctors). My prayers go out to the man that hit him, because he was taken away in an ambulance and from what my husband said he did not look good. Which is sad because in the back of this mans truck, my husband noticed that he had a child's sled and other children's toys. I have yet to find out from the police report how he is doing, but I hope he is well, after all he is someones son, husband, brother or father.

I Could Use Some Happy Thoughts

I could totally use a day like the one this Bella looks like shes having! Maybe I need to just keep repeating the words "Think Happy Thoughts" to myself all day. This card is nothing fancy but it was fun to make, the wrap on top of Spabella's head and the lemon in her melon cucumber drink has Stickles on them. I embossed the Green Galore piece with my Cuttlebug and stamped a row of circles at the bottom of the card with the stamp set All in a Row. Very simple.

Supplies: Spabella, Think Happy Thoughts, All in a Row, Ribbon, Circle punches, Brad, Cuttlebug, Copic markers, Stickles. Colors: Bashful Blue, Pixie Pink, Green Galore and Whisper White.

My Stamp Camp is tonight and I cant wait to show you the projects were doing!

Have a great night!

A Scary Day

Yesterday was a scary day for our family, my husband was in a car accident. Don't you hate it when someone from your family just leaves the house and a few minutes later you hear the sound of a siren? Well yesterday morning that is exactly what happened, my son Zachary had just left to catch the school bus and then my husband left for work. Right after I heard the sirens and then came the phone call from Dan saying that his truck was totaled. Of course my heart started beating out of my chest, until I heard the words "I'm OK though".
The roads were icy and slightly snow covered yesterday and as Dan was headed south, a man traveling north lost control of his truck, he was driving about 45-50 miles an hour when he went to change lanes and spun right into Dan. The impact was so hard that it knocked the other mans bed to his truck right off and smashed the whole front end of Dan truck completely in. Thank God for seat belts and airbags! Dan has a few gashes in his hand which is all swollen a lump on the back of his head and is sore all over, but hes going to be OK.

Friendship Valentine Card

When my friends were over the other day and we were done making our web books (see previous post), I started cut up kits for this Wednesday's stamp camp and after that they convinced me to do something fun, so I made this Bella card. Today I've spent most of the day on and off prepping for camp this Wednesday and I'm still not done, my dh asks why I wait till the last minute to get ready and I tell him because if I cut my card kits to far in advance then I forget what it is that the ladies have to do to make the projects, that and I never know how many kits to cut up and make until about three days before camp, after I've confirmed how many ladies are coming. That's my story and I'm stickin to it!

Supplies: Mwahbella -Stamping Bella, Think Happy Thoughts -Stampin' Up, Ribbon, Rhinestone brad, Revolution heart embossing, Circle punches, Scalloped circle punch, Copic markers, Red Stickles, pop dots. Colors: Chocolate Chip, Brocade Blue, Real Red, Whisper White.

Web Book

Yesterday I had a few friends over to stamp/scrap and we made web books, what they are is a book to keep track of places we all frequent on the web. For example not only does it have an area for web sites, but user names, passwords, blogs, email addresses, on line stores and the products they sell and an area for notes. My friend Dawn came up with the idea, when she saw a book at Archivers that had

some of the same info, but ours are much cuter and hold for info.
I'm lovin my new nestabilities dies! Here I used Rose Red paper to make a square scalloped mat and embossed the the edge, I also used my Clickabella and colored her with copic markers and added a mat of Old Olive. The designer paper I used is so pretty, I really like it, its American Crafts paper called ala Carte - Bruschetta (it has to do with food, no wonder I like it). I covered my chip board with the designer paper, tied on a few ribbons, made two dividers for the inside, punched out two tabs with the round tab punch and bound the whole thing up with my Bind-it-All.
The inside pages I made up on micro soft word and had them printed off onto white card stock for us girls. This was a fun little project, each of us decorated our books a little different and I think they all came out great!
Thanks for Looking!

27 Dresses

Yes this is a movie review, which I don't normally do but I just have to! The reason being is that my husbands friend Brian, who he's known since they were just kids is actually in this movie, I know how exciting! He plays a walk on who delivers flowers to Katherine Heigl around the middle of the movie, if you go to see it he's the one wearing the purple shirt. The woman that directed the movie Anne Fletcher went to high school with both my husband and Brian and since Brian is an actor and friend, she had Brian audition and he got the part. It was so weird seeing Brian on the big screen, even if it was for just a few short seconds and his name was in the credits, how cool is that! He even got to ride in a limo with Katherine Heigl.
Anyway if you have a chance to see this movie, go because its an adorable, feel good kind of movie that will make you laugh!

BIG TROUBLE!

Yup I'm in big trouble! I ordered two sets of the Spellbinder's dies the day after Christmas (used my X-mas money) and they finally came yesterday. I order the small scalloped square and circle dies and had gotten the information from Spellbinder's that I could use these dies in my Cuttlebug machine so that I wouldn't have to invest in the wizard machine that they recommend using, just yet. Let me just tell you that I see why everyone really likes these dies, not only are they cost effective $25.00 for 6 dies (one package) verses $12-$15 for a single punch but storing and carrying the dies with you is so much easier and the results are beautiful - I'm sold! I also purchased the charm embossing kit so that I can not just cut with the dies, but I can get an embossed edge on them too.

These cards are for a friend of mine, I used one of my favorite new sets from the new Stampin' Up catalog called Bursting with Joy, its a simple little stamp set, but as soon as I saw it I new I wanted it! Its hard to see unless you click on the pictures to enlarge them but the stamp set comes with this pretty Spirograph circle that gives a subtle hint of color or pattern.

I hope she likes them!

Supplies: Bursting with Joy, Ticket corner punch, Large & small oval punches, Circle punch, Coluzzle, Ribbon, Spellbinder's dies, Pop dots. Colors: Whisper white, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink.

Thank for visiting!

The Pay it Forward Winner is.....

Monica from her blog Little Bit of Life she wrote
Love your blog! I sent a card to my childhood best friend who I finally found after 30 years of searching! It was a card I made and she is going to LOVE it.
Monica, I'm sure your friend will love the handmade card you sent her.

Congratulations Monica, I wont tell you what you won so that you can be surprised when you get it in the mail. If you could please contact me with your address I will be happy to send you your Pay it Forward.

Thank you all for playing!

Oh Baby!

I'm still waiting for the delivery of my new Stampin' Up stuff from the new catalog and in the mean time I've just been playing with the few new stamp sets that I have. I usually don't make new years resolutions because in the past I find that three months down the line I'm not sticking to them, but this year I told myself that the one thing I would like to do is send out more cards to family and friends. And since I'm usually making the card I need a day before someones birthday or the afternoon of someones wedding, I would like to stop having to do that and have a stash of cards on hand (that would be so nice) I could stop being a last minute lucy! So that being said these baby cards are going into my card box, just in case I need one.

Supplies: Cause for Celebration, Polka Dot BG, Hugs & Wishes, Circle punches, Scalloped circle punch, Word window punch, Ticket corner punch, SU markers, Ribbon, Brads, Scalloped scissors, pop dots. Colors: Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Bashful Blue, Brocade Blue, Whisper White.

Have a great weekend!

SUPERbella!

Yes another Bella card, this one is for my mom, she asked if I would make her some cards to send out to her friends and the last few times I've shown her some of the cards I've made she mentioned that she really likes these lady cards. So I thought I would whip up a few before she stops by today for a visit. My mom is great, I know in a previous post I said that some times she can push my buttons, but I think thats because the two of us are more than mother and daughter, I think a lot of times were like girl friends who can tell each other anything. I talk to my mom on the phone every day and see her about once a week and yes we can drive each other crazy, but I don't know what I'd do with out her. She is a wonderful Grandma to my three children and to all of the kids in our family, I know my kids love spending time with her because she not only takes them to do fun things and listens to what their up to, but because she is all they really have as far as a Grandparent now. My father pasted away two years ago yesterday, my husbands mother has been gone for twelve years and his father and his wife spend most of their time down in Florida. So were all real lucky to have my mom!
I hope she likes the cards I make for her.

Supplies: Superbella, Have a Super birthday - Stamping Bella, Dotted BG, Brads, My new Copic markers, Red Stickles, Pop dots. Colors: Night of Navy, Real Red, Brocade Blue and Whisper White.

Have a Super day!

*MWAH*

This doesn't really look very Valentinie (is that a word) but that's what I'm going to use it for. This card is a semi cased card because after seeing my bloggin friend Deborah's fabulous Bella card on her blog Sharing my Obsession, I couldn't wait to make a card with the new Bella I received in the mail yesterday. Deb used the prettiest paper and ribbon on her card and I loved were she placed the circle with saying on.

This Mwahbella is just to fun, what I want to know is were she got a butt like that and how she can twist the top half of her body around without moving her legs, LOL!

Supplies: Mwahbella with words - Stamping Bella, Circle of Friendship - Stampin' Up, Love Messages - Stampendous, Gems, Circle punches, Pop dots. Colors: Pink Passion, Pixie Pink, Bordering Blue, Not Quite Navy, Whisper White, Skin White Copic, Light Walnut Copic, Toner Grey Copic Marker.

Thanks for looking :o)

Valentine Sweets

It feels good to be able to be back in my own home again, even though my back is killing me from cleaning the whole house like a mad woman. If you read my previous post you know that we had our hard wood floors refinished this last Thursday and because of that we had to leave our house due to the strong smell of the chemicals that they used. The whole process took three days, Thursday they sanded and stained, Friday they applied a coat of finish and yesterday the final coat of sealer. This afternoon we came home and opened all the windows and aired out the house, while I cleaned and did laundry for five hours or so, even some of the linens in my closet smelled like the sealer they used yuck. All I know is that I'm going to sleep like a baby tonight in my own bed.

The card I'm posting is for Sharon Johnson's challenge from her blog No Time to Stamp, the challenge was to make a card long and low, well my card is long but I don't know how low it is because I wanted to use this image from Stampendous. Its hard to see but I added red stickles on the cherries and a little on the strawberry's just to give it a bit of sparkle. I'm really liking this color combo of the Chocolate Chip, Real Red, Pretty in Pink and So Saffron. If you have a chance check out Sharon's blog, her work will blow you away, this lady not only does just single cards that will make your jaw drop but whole collections that are just beautiful.

Thanks for visiting!

Flooring Fun!

I haven't posted anything in the last two days due to the fact that were having our wood floors in our house refinished. The smell is sooo bad that we have spent the last two nights at a hotel, and let me tell you just how fun it is to stay in a hotel with three kids, one of them being only 13 months old and loves to scream all night till the wee hours of the morning. This morning I just stopped home to let the workers in the house and drop off a few things and tonight we might just spend the night at my mothers (God help me), two nights with no sleep and then sleeping at my moms (lets just say she likes to push my buttons sometimes). Were hoping to get back in the house on Sunday and try and get back to normal by Monday or Tuesday, I hope. I am able to check my email by my new Christmas gift that my DH bought me, its a new Centro Palm, its very cool, its my new brain!

Happy January 1, 2008!

This is something to make ya smile, I know I did after reading it because I can totally relate.
After Christmas
> ================
>
> 'Twas the week after Christmas, and all through the house
> Nothing would fit me, not even a blouse.
> The cookies I'd nibbled, the eggnog I'd taste
> At the holiday parties had gone to my waist.
>
> When I got on the scales there arose such a number!
> When I walked to the store (less a walk than a lumber).
>
> I'd remember the marvelous meals I'd prepared;
> The gravies and sauces and beef nicely rared,
>
> The wine and the rum balls, the bread and the cheese
> And the way I'd never said, "No thank you, please."
>
> As I dressed myself in my husband's old shirt
> And prepared once again to do battle with dirt
>
> I said to myself, as I only can
> "You can't spend a winter disguised as a man!"
>
> So away with the last of the sour cream dip,
> Get rid of the fruit cake, every cracker and chip
>
> Every last bit of food that I like must be banished
> "Till all the additional ounces have vanished.
>
> I won't have a cookie - not even a lick.
> I'll want only to chew on a long celery stick.
>
> I won't have hot biscuits, or corn bread, or pie,
> I'll munch on a carrot and quietly cry.
>
> I'm hungry, I'm lonesome, and life is a bore
> But isn't that what January is for?
>
> Unable to giggle, no longer a riot.
> Happy New Year to all and to all a good diet!
