Fairy Friends Birthday - CTD582

Hello, hello! It’s Wednesday and time for this week’s Color Throwdown Challenge.

For my card, I used the Lawn Fawn stamp set Fairy Friends along with the Fairy Friends dies to create a birthday card. I started out by stamping several images from the Fairy Friends set as well as a few images from the Oh Gnome set and Gleeful Garden sets and then colored them using Copic markers. Once my images were colored, I used the coordinating dies, Fairy Friends, Oh Gnome dies and Gleeful Garden dies, to die cut them out.

I used a piece of hot pink gingham-linen Doodlebug Design paper and die cut it using the Outside In Stitched Rectangle dies for my background. I used the same rectangle dies to die cut a piece of white cardstock which I blended on some tumbled glass and peacock feathers distress oxide ink. After that I used the Simple Stitched Hillside Borders dies and die cut a piece of kraft cardstock and stamped my sentiment using my Misti tool. I attached my kraft hill with sentiment to my ink blended rectangle and adhered my images popping up the fairies with foam tape.

For My Birthday Princess - Enchanted

Hello, friends! I’m up over on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog today where I’m sharing a tunnel card that I created featuring the sweet new stamp set Enchanted.

To create my tunnel card, I started out by stamping a few of the images from the Enchanted stamp set, coloring them using Copic markers, and then using the Enchanted dies to die cut them out. Next I used the Frilly Frames Hexagon die and die cut a piece of white card stock for my top layer. Using two circle dies I die cut first my top white layer using the larger circle die and then some lavender card stock using the smaller circle die.

 Before adhering my die cut layers on my white card base, I blended on some spun sugar distress oxide ink, added my castle and green card stock hill then stamped my sentiment. The “birthday” portion of my sentiment was from the Prancing Pegasus stamp set. On my pink background I also stamped some of the star images from the Enchanted stamp set and added some glitter to each of them. Once the background for my tunnel card was done, I adhered my two layers using foam tape. I added my princess using more foam tape and adhered flowers from the Chickie Baby stamp set which I stamped colored and die cut using the Chickie Baby dies. I used the Banner Basics stamp set and Banner Basics dies along with the Phoebe Alphabet to stamp the Princess portion of my sentiment.

Spring Showers

 Hi there! Today I’m up over on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog sharing an interactive card I created featuring the adorable new stamp set Spring Showers.

The Spring Showers stamp set is such a fun set with all of the cute characters, kites and umbrellas, I knew I wanted to create something with kites flying up in the air and with the Sliding Window dies I gave it a go.

To create my card, I started out by stamping my images from the Spring Showers stamp set and coloring them using Copic markers then die cutting them out using the Spring Showers dies. I also stamped the sun from the Sunny Sentiments stamp set, colored that and die cut it using the Sunny Sentiment dies. Once all of my images were colored and die cut, I started on making my sliding window. To put together the Sliding Window card, I followed these easy directions which you can find here or you can watch a video tutorial here. 

There are three pieces needed to create the Sliding Window card, a card base, a piece of card stock cut 4 7/8” x 3 1/4” and your top panel which is 5 1/2” x 4 1/4”. For my top panel, I used a piece of white card stock and a piece of rainbow striped paper from the Spring Fling paper pack and die cut them together using the Sliding Window main rectangle die and the tab die. After that I used my paper trimmer along the top of the flap of the striped paper to cut the center portion out so the white card stock underneath would show through. On that center white card stock and the 4 7/8” x 3 1/4” piece of white card stock I blended on some tumbled glass distress oxide ink. Next I cut thin strips of clear acetate and attached my kites, clouds and sun to the end of them, popping up the orange kite with foam tape. The ends of the clear acetate strips were then adhered to the bottom of the center ink blended piece on my top panel. After that I used the Sunny Sentiment grass die which I cut from green card stock for a grassy ground. I adhered the three children with foam tape and added some flowers and a butterfly. For kite string I used some black thread and attached just a sliver of a glue dot to the back of the children's hands and then onto the centers of the kites.

To finish my Sliding Window card, I blended on some mowed lawn distress oxide ink on the lower half of my card base and stamped some grass from the Spring Scenes stamp set, adhered my 4 7/8” x 3 1/4” pull panel and adhered my top panel with the striped rainbow paper and my images.

Elephant Friends - CTD580

Hello and happy Wednesday! A new Color Throwdown Challenge starts today and we’ve got some pretty colors for all of us to create with.

I created two cards using this week’s Throwdown colors and used the sweet Hello Bluebird stamp set, Elephant Friends with the coordinating Elephant Friends dies. 

For both cards I started out with a white card base and added a panel of lavender gingham paper from the Gotta Have Gingham paper pack. I die cut both panels using the Outside In Stitched Rectangle dies. Using the same dies, I die cut two white card stock rectangles for my scenes. On each stitched rectangle I used a cloud stencil and blended on some tumbled glass distress oxide ink and also die cut a strip of grass from new leaf card stock using the Sunny Sentiments dies. 

For my first card with the two elephants, I used the Typed Everyday stamp set for my sentiment and for my second card I used the Field Mice stamp set and dies for not only the sentiment but for the dandelion and flowers. I stamped and colored all of my images using Copic markers, then die cut them out. I popped up the elephants and the rectangles for my scenes using foam tape.

You can see in the picture below that I added some iridescent glitter for the dandelion on my second card.

Floating By

 Good morning! I’m up over on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog today sharing a cheerful rainbow colored card that features the new Floating By stamp set and dies.

To create my card I used the fun new Floating By stamp set and coordinating Floating By dies. I started out with a white card base then die cut a piece of rainbow colored paper from the Spring Fling paper pack using the Frilly Frames Retro Petals dies. Next I stamped the balloon image from the Floating By stamp set and colored the balloons using Copic markers and die cut them out. The die cuts only the balloons and not the strings which is great because once you add foam tape to the balloons it really gives the illusion that they’re floating. After that, I stamped the little boy and clouds from the new Spring Showers stamp set, colored them and die cut them out using the Spring Showers dies. Once that was done I die cut a stitched rectangle from white card stock and using the cloud die from the Sunny Sentiments dies as a stencil, I blended on some tumbled glass distress oxide ink giving my rectangle panel a soft sky look. Next I stamped my sentiment and the balloon image then adhered a pink card stock mat to my rectangle panel and added the clouds, using foam tape I added the little boy and my popped up rainbow cluster of balloons.

Painted Petals Card Collection Day 2

 Hello there! I’m here with Day 2 of my Painted Petals Card Collection where I used the pretty colors from this week’s Color Throwdown Challenge as my inspiration.

 To create all of the cards in this collection, I used the Papertrey Ink stamp sets Painted Petals (which is an anniversary set) along with the Painted Petals dies. I also used the Beautiful Butterflies stamp set and Beautiful Butterflies dies and the coordinating Beautiful Butterflies Layers and dies to give the butterflies more detail. All of the cards have a white card base with a die cut stitched scalloped panel which I used the Mix & Mat: Scallops die to create. I blended on some faded jeans distress oxide ink onto each scalloped panel and sprinkled on some water then absorbed them up with paper towel. I used the Celebrate Today (retired) die and die cut it twice from white card stock and glued them together. I stamped the images in night of navy, brocade blue, pink pirouette and hibiscus burst inks. I also used diamond Stickles glitter on all of the flowers and on some of the butterfly wings and applied iridescent sequins on a few of the cards.

Painted Petals Card Collection Day 1 - CTD579

 The lighting in these pictures really doesn’t show these cards as they look in real life but its been cold and dreary here lately and since I take my pictures using natural daylight I did my best.
