Butterfly Birthday Wishes

Happy Friday! Today I’m sharing another card I created using the Flora and Fauna Butterfly Jar stamp set and the current colors from the Color Throwdown Challenge #499. If you’d like to see my card from Wednesday you can click here or scroll down.
For this card, most of the images were from the Flora and Fauna Butterfly Jar set with the birthday sentiment from the Glass Dome set, the smaller flowers from the Aviary Love set and the little green foliage from the Oh Hello Friend set. All of my images were stamped onto a die cut stitched rectangle with some of the images being masked off. The large butterfly was stamped twice, once on the stitched rectangle and once on scrap white cardstock then colored and fussy cut out. All of the images were colored using Copic markers. I used foam tape to adhere the stitched rectangle to my card base which I had added a piece of gingham blue Doodlebug designer paper. To finish off my card, I added some iridescent sequins and some yellow and blue Stickles to the butterfly.
Above you can see my card from Wednesday and the card from today together.
Thank you for your visit!

Just because - CTD499

Hello! It’s time for this week’s Color Throwdown Challenge! This week we have the pretty colors of blue, yellow and green to create with.

For my card, I used a combination of Flora and Fauna stamp sets along with the masking technique to create a thinking of you card. The great thing about Flora and Fauna stamp sets is the fact that so many of their sets work fantastic together. The first thing I did to create my card was to die cut a stitched square to stamp my images onto. Next I stamped the jar from the Butterfly Jar set in black ink once on to my stitched square and another time on to scrap paper. I cut the one from scrap paper out and added some temporary adhesive onto the back and lined it up over the jar I stamped on my stitched square. After I had my jar mask in place, I stamped the watercolor looking image from the Texture Four set in brocade ink to ground my jar image then stamped my sentiment from the Butterfly Jar set just under the jar. Next I stamped my top two floral images which were from the Butterfly Jar set, then masked those over and stamped in new leaf ink a stem image from the Oh Hello set and to the right of the jar another stem image from the Aviary Love set. After those images were stamped, I colored them with Copic markers and removed the mask from my jar and stamped the medium sized butterfly in brocade ink inside the jar and the small butterfly onto a piece of white cardstock. I colored both butterflies using my Copics then cut out the smaller butterfly and glued it over the larger one to add some dimension to the image. I used a piece of blue Doodlebug design paper on a square card base and added foam tape to my stitched square with my stamped images and added  that on top. As a final touch, I added some yellow Stickles glitter to the layered butterflies.

Pig Day - CTD498

Hi there! I’m hostess this week over on the Color Throwdown site and I chose some fun flamingo colors for our challenge #498.
Since I don’t own any flamingo stamps, I used the adorable Hello Bluebird stamp set Pig Day along with the coordinating Pig Day dies to create a birthday card. I made my card with a clean and simple look using a lot of white and the emphasis on my stamped images. I used a white card base, then I added a panel of white cardstock which I had die cut using the Outside In Stitched Rectangle Stackables die and then stamped my sentiment in the lower right corner. Next I die cut a circle of white and blended on some crushed olive and tumbled glass distress inks then added that to my card front with foam tape. After that I stamped my images then colored them using Copic markers then die cut them out. I adhered the pig with foam tape and glued on the rest of my images. I added some iridescent glitter to the pom pom on the top of his party hat and some iridescent sequins on my white panel and I was done.

Ice Cream Anyone???

Happy Thursday! Today I’m sharing a set of cards that I created using the new Lawn Fawn stamp set Sweetest Flavor.
For my first card, I used the Sweetest Flavor stamp set and Sweetest Flavor Lawn Cuts to make a thank you card. To make my card I used a white card base and then added a piece of paper from the Lawn Fawn Really Rainbow paper pack which I die cut using the Outside In Stitched Rectangle Stackables die. Next I added a horizontal strip of yellow cardstock and adhered both to my card front. After that, I used the same rectangle dies and die cut a piece of white cardstock and stamped part of my sentiment along the bottom. I added my Copic marker colored images in rainbow order, popping up the double scoop of blue raspberry cone with foam tape. I die cut two of the Scripty Thanks in black cardstock and glued them together and adhered that just below the cones. To add a little gloss to the cherry on top of the blue cone, I used some Glossy Accents.
For my second card, I used most of the same materials to make a birthday card. I used the same Really Rainbow paper pack and the same images but did a vertical card and used the Happy, Happy, Happy stamp set and the coordinating dies. This time I added a lavender strip of cardstock down the center and I used the Stitched Mini Scallop Square Stax die with white cardstock to adhere my ice cream images, popping them up with foam tape. I stamped one of the Happy sentiments and colored it with Copic markers, then die cut two of them then glued them together and stamped my birthday sentiment onto a Fancy Folded Banner.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Wish Big - CTD496

Hello there!  It’s time for this week’s Color Throwdown Challenge
For my card, I used the Lawn Fawn stamp set Elphie Selfie along with the coordinating Elphie Selfie Lawn Cuts. I haven’t used this set nearly enough and had fun making this birthday card. To make my card, I started out with a white card base then die cut a scrap piece of black and white polka dot paper and a piece of aqua mist cardstock using the Outside-In-Stitched Rectangle Stackables. After that I added a strip of black cardstock just below the center. I stamped my Wish Big sentiment onto a die cut Stitched Sentiment Strip in hawaiian shores ink and then stamped the second part of my sentiment in black ink. I had already stamped, colored with Copic markers and die cut my images the other day so I used the Stitched Mini Scallop Square Stax die and adhered them to a white die cut scallop square using foam tape. I had a lot of white negative space in the upper left corner of my card so I die cut the little banners from the Scalloped Box Card Pop-Up die to finish it off and added some yellow Stickles glitter on the birthday candles.
