Floral Fantasy - CTD511
Hello! I’m here with my card for this week’s Color Throwdown Challenge #511. We have some beautiful colors for our challenge this week and we hope you’ll play along.
For my card, I used the Altenew stamp set Floral Fantasy and Floral Fantasy dies to create a birthday card. To make my card, I started out with a piece of watercolor paper and blended on some crushed olive and stormy sky distress ink, then I inked up two of the leaf stamps with the same distress inks and stamped them along the outer edges of my blended panel. After that I used my paintbrush and added some water droplets, let them sit for a minute and then lifted them with paper towel. Once that was done, I die cut three of the roses and stamped them. For the large top rose I used Altenew ink, Pink Diamond, Pinkalicious, Rubellite and Razzleberry and for the two other roses I used SU ink pretty in pink, regal rose and apricot appeal and pumpkin pie. For one of the die cut leaves I used simply chartreuse. I stamped my sentiment, which is from the Painted Greetings set, in black ink using my Misti tool then adhered my stems and flower popping up the large berry colored one with foam tape, then glued on some iridescent sequins.

Autumn Greetings - CTD510
Hello, crafty friends! I hope your week is going well. It’s time for this week’s Color Throwdown Challenge.
For my card, I used the adorable Hello Bluebird stamp set Autumn Gatherings. I can’t seem to get enough of the cute Hello Bluebird stamp sets that I purcased. For this Autumn Gatherings stamp set, once you die cut the critter images, the arms are cut so that you can slide in your choice of the fun smaller images that come with the set, and there are a bunch of little items you can have them holding from an apple to an envelope. It makes creating a scene with these little guys super fun!
To create my card, I stamped several of the images from the Autumn Gatherings set and colored them using Copic markers, then die cut them out using the Autumn Gatherings dies. I also used the cloud image from the Fall Friends stamp set and dies. I made a simple little scene using a kraft colored gingham piece of Doodlebug Designs paper, to ground my images, and a piece of watercolor paper which I watercolored using some Jane Davenport watercolors (70’s Eye Shadow) for my sky. Next I used the Gallery Frame 3 die and die cut it from pumpkin pie cardstock. I adhered all three pieces together and then stamped my sentiment from the set. After that, I added some white Gelly pen to my images and used a Glaze pen on their noses and eyes to make them glossy then added foam tape to the three main characters and adhered them to my scene.

A Friendly Hello - CTD509
Happy September! Yay for fall! It’s been unbearably muggy and hot here where I live in Michigan so I can’t wait until the cooler weather is here, not only that but fall is my favorite time of year, I love it. With that thought in mind, the card I have for this week’s Color Throwdown Challenge has a fall theme to it. Our colors for this week’s challenge are red, orange and blue and before I get to my card, I’d like to welcome this month’s talented CTD Guest Designer, Amy Kolling.
For my card, I used the new Hello Bluebird stamp set, Fall Friends. I second I saw the image of the sweet deer carrying a stack of books, I knew I had to have this set. I’m a book lover and I’m always reading, I feel lost without a book. The first thing I did to create my card, was to stamp all the images I knew I wanted to used for my card. After that I colored all the images using Copic markers in the colors for this week’s CTD challenge and then die cut them out using the coordinating Fall Friends dies. Next I used a piece of watercolor paper and blended on some tumbled glass and stormy sky distress ink. Then since I wanted to give my sky some movement, I used the dashed bee lines from the Bee Happy stamp set and stamped them in tumbled glass distress ink. Once that was done, I used the Gallery Frame #3 die and die cut a piece of white and pumpkin pie cardstock. Then I used a piece of red woodgrain Doodlebug Designs paper and die cut it using the Stitched Hillside Border die. I stamped my sentiment onto a die cut banner and tucked the end underneath my frame and then adhered everything down, popping up my deer image with foam tape.
