Hello everyone! These are the other two cards from my Christmas Stamp-a-Stack card class the other night. The first card uses hardly any stamping at all and the idea for this card was from my very talented Sweet Sunday Sketch team member Vicki Burdick, please click on her name and visit Vicki's blog you won't be sorry she has some amazing stamping projects!

The base of this card is Handsome Hunter with an embossed Petals-a-Plenty panel of Real Red, I used the Eyelet border punch for along the bottom of the red panel and tied on a piece of red gingham ribbon. The poinsettia flower was created by punching one Handsome Hunter 5 petal flower and two Real Red flowers out and layering them together. The center of the flower is a large brad covered with a glue dot then dipped in yellow glitter, the whole flower is then layered on top of a white 1 3/8" square punched piece and a Handsome Hunter mat. The be merry is from the stamp set Warm Words and punched out and layered with the large and small oval punches. Thank you Vicki for the wonderful idea!

The last card from the class was cased by another very talented stamper Pam Speidel, the only thing I did different to this card was to add a stamped strip of Kraft and Whisper White paper to the bottom of the card and I used red ribbon. When I saw this card on Pam's blog I instantly loved it and thought it would be perfect for my Stamp-a-Stack class. This card uses the Dasher stamp, the snowflake from the Snow Swirled set and the Merry Christmas from retired stamps set All Year Cheer III.

And the WINNER IS...

Christmas Card Class

Today I have two of the four cards that we created at my Christmas Stamp-a-Stack class last night, I think it was a success and the women had a nice time. I had 7 women and each one made 12 cards so I tried to keep them simple and easy to make. The first card above was created using the stamp set Gifts of Christmas, I love this stamp set especially paired with the Petals-a-Plenty Textured Impressions Folder from the Stampin' Up mini catalog. I stamped the dove image in Garden Green and then removed the ink from the poinsettias using a q-tip, then colored directly on the stamp with a red SU marker to color the poinsettias then stamped. I added Dazzling Diamonds to the dove, a 2 3/4"x 4" Real Red embossed panel using my textured folder, some white ribbon and pearls to finish it off.

The second card for the class uses the stamp sets Christmas Punch (hostess) for the snowflakes, Best Yet (retired hostess set) and Dasher. The card base is Night of Navy with a panel of Brocade Blue that was stamped using the snowflakes from the Christmas Punch set with a 1/8" piece of metallic silver paper along the edge. The deer was heat embossed using silver embossing powder and the saying was stamped in Night of Navy and punched out using the large oval punch and matted with the scallop oval.

SSSC41 - Thankful

It's time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge!!! Today my card for the challenge uses one of my favorite Stampin' Up fall stamp sets Falling Leaves. The card base is 5 1/2"x4 1/4" and is Elegant Eggplant with a 4 3/4"x 2 1/2" More Mustard panel embossed using a Cuttlebug Herringbone embossing folder and matted with Ruby Red. The other panel 2 3/4"x 3 1/2" and was stamped randomly with the leaves and matted as well, the thankful leaf was stamped in Elegant Eggplant and punched out using my circle punches and pop dotted. The saying and ribbon were added to complete the card.

Birthday Blog Candy & A Card

Thinking of You

The last few days I've been creating cards and cutting card stock for the Christmas Stamp-a-Stack class I'm having this coming Wednesday but the other day I sat down and made this simple Thinking of You card. This card measures 4 1/4"x 4 1/4" and I used the stamp sets Cheep Talk (for the flower) and Trendy Trees (for the saying).

To You From Me

Today's card was a birthday card that I had made for a friend of mine using the stamp set For All You Do and the retired set Best Yet. The base of the card is Rich Razzleberry with a layer of Orchid Opulence on top that was wheeled with Orchid Opulence ink using the Delicate Dots wheel. Then I added a piece of Cottage Wall designer paper with 1/4" piece of Old Olive card stock underneath. I used the Sizzix Top Note die with white card stock and stamped the flowers, then added the butterfly which was stamped off in Orchid Opulence and glittered with Dazzling Diamonds, then the 3D flower and pearls.

I haven't posted very much within the last few weeks because I've been busy working on cards which need to be completed for Stampendous. I'm not able to share the cards I'm working on until January after their new catalog comes out so please bear with me because I will have more cards and projects to share.

SSSC40 - Snow Flurries

It's Sunday which means it's time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge, the card that I have for today uses the stamp set Snow Flurries and the retired set Snowfall. This sketch was fun to work with but I did find it a challenge to decide which stamp set to use that would have small enough images to fit in circles that would work on my card. Once I decided on the small snowflakes I wanted to use non-traditional colors just for something different so I used Tempting Turquoise, Pixie Pink and Certainly Celery.

WSC101 - Of the Earth

Today's card is a thank you card that I created using Beate's Weekend Sketch, I've had this Of the Earth stamp set sitting around and I hadn't even used it until today.
The colors in this card look a little funky for some reason but the card base is Rich Razzleberrry with a 5 1/4"x 4" panel of So Saffron on top, then a panel of Mellon Mambo. I used the Perfect Details Texturz Plate on the upper portion of the Mellon Mambo panel and stamped the saying down low. On top of the Mellon Mambo panel I added a 3"x 4 1/4" piece of So Saffron and a piece of Razzleberry Lemonade designer paper. For the flower I carefully inked up just the flower and buds with a Mellon Mambo ink pad the used a Old Olive marker to ink the stems and stamped. The bird was inked up in Mellon Mambo, stamped and punched out using my square punches.

I don't know what it is but I seem to be in a funk lately, maybe it's the weather maybe it's not getting enough sleep at night but I've had no mojo. Our youngest son has been keeping me busy lately, last week it was a run to the emergency room because he had bitten off the end of a plastic pen and started choking on a sharp piece of the plastic and then swallowed it. He's OK now but it sure did give us a scare. That and I'm wondering who is going to be potty trained first our 2yr old or our puppy, so far it's a close run.

SSSC39 - Season of Joy

Welcome to another Sweet Sunday Sketch! The card that I have for today started out very different compared to how it ended up (other than turning the sketch) and as I'm posting this I just realized that I must be in a red and green Christmas mood because I used the same colors, paper and a tree for last weeks sketch.

SC249 - Lovely as a Tree

Today's card is for this weeks Splitcoast Stampers Sketch Challenge #249 and uses the stamp sets Lovely as a Tree and Teeny Tiny Wishes as well as some Autumn Traditions designer paper. The base of the card is Soft Suede with a layer of Very Vanilla, then I added a piece of designer paper 3 1/4"x 3 7/8" to the top of the Very Vanilla and taped on a band of Chocolate Chip ribbon (which always photographs in a weird color). It's difficult to see from this picture but this tree is loaded with Dazzling Diamonds and really sparkles in the light.

Mojo Monday - With Sympathy

Sadly enough today I needed a sympathy card, the mother of a friend of our family passed away on Friday and we'll be going to the funeral home tonight. I used the Mojo Monday Sketch to create this card along with the stamp sets Great Friend and the retired set Warmest Regards.

SSSC38 - Spirit of Christmas

Today is Sunday and you know what that means, it's time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch! For my card today I used the stamp set Snow Swirled and the designer paper Merry Moments. I stamped the swirly tree twice once in Garden Green and then again in Real Red, then took the Real Red tree and used two different sized circle punches to punch out all five of the snowflakes within the tree. Then I added red gems and pop dots and added them to the Garden Green stamped tree. I love these true red and green Christmas colors together!

WSC100 - Thankful Thoughts

With the weather being cold and rainy again today it feels like a good day for some chili, stuffed cabbage or homemade soup in the crock pot, doesn't that sound good?
The card above is for Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge #100, wow a hundred sketches that's a lot, thank you Beate for inspiring all of us with your creative talent and your fantastic sketches. For today's card I used the stamp set Branch Out which is currently on the Stampin' Up dormant list (see my sidebar to download dormant list) but I've been eyeing this set for some time now. Two people pushed me over the edge to order this set, the first being Vicki Burdick with her wonderful Happy Fall card and the second is my sister-in-law Jennifer who created an excellent card using the Branch Out stamp set for her last stamp camp. Thanks for enabling me ladies! :)
