Gardening Angel Thank You

It's been a rainy weekend here but that's OK because its washing away all the dirty snow and grimy streets so that it can be warmer and sunny this week. I started working on this card yesterday and then set it aside to work on a sketch challenge card which started to give me a hard time so I went back and finish what I started. I thought this Karen Lockhart Gardening Angel image was so pretty when I saw it at Susana's store I knew I wanted her for my KL stamp collection. After coloring this angel image with my Copics I used a Clear, Gold and Pink Spica Glitter pen on her hair, wings and flowers.

Kind Heart

This card is for two different challenges, one Kristine's Color Inspiration Challenge which I haven't participated in a long time and two the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge which I don't think I've ever played along with. Looking at the picture of the little girls dresses for the color challenge the stamp set Simply Said immediately jumped into my head because of the dainty flowers and heart from the set so that's what I went with. It was nice having the combination of the sketch and the colors to work with already and since I really liked both it was fairly easy to put this card together. I ended up cutting down the length of the card to five inches because my image wasn't very large.

SC218 - Simple Birthday Card

This was another card that I had made using the sketch from SCS yesterday but wasn't sure that I should post it because I wasn't real crazy about it. I used the retired stamp set Eat Cake, I held onto this set because not only did I like it but figured I could always use an extra birthday set. Looking at this card it looks sort of masculine but I'm not so sure because of the cake image and glitter I added. I guess when I think of a man's card I think of deer, trees or fishing, lol.

Supplies: Eat Cake, Small circle punch, Brads, Dazzling Diamonds, Pop dots. Colors: Old Olive, Taken with Teal, More Mustard, So Saffron, Whisper White.

SC218 - Note of Thanks

Hello everyone, it's another sunny but cold day today, I sure wish spring would hurry and get here already because it's been a long winter. I'm ready to open the windows and get some fresh air and be outside and see green! My card for today is for the SCS sketch challenge which I turned horizontally so that I could use my SU Cheep Talk stamp set. This is the second card I've posted using this stamp set and this card is using the same colors and designer paper but has more detail. It's difficult to see from the picture but I stamped the little bird on the branch in Summer Sun, then stamped him in Pacific Point ink on a separate piece of white card stock and cut just his body out and pop dotted it over the SS bird. That and I stamped and cut out the flower and an extra group of leaves from the set to create a fuller branch.
