You Are Loved - Where Creativity Meets C9

Hi there!  It's time for this month's Where Creativity Meets C9 Challenge!  Our theme for this month is totally appropriate for February, it's Love.  So if you're looking for a fun challenge, grab your Concord & 9th stamps and play along.

 For my card, I used the Concord & 9th stamp set, You Are Enough and did some watercoloring.  This stamp set works beautifully with watercolor in my opinion.  The loopy flower that comes in this set looks great stamped with solid petals as well but watercoloring it is my favorite.  So I stamped the long stem flower and two piece sentiment in black palette ink on watercolor paper and used my watercolors to add color.  I had trimmed down my watercolor paper so that I could add a strip of pink passion (SU) cardstock down the side.  To finish off my card, I added some iridescent sequins and some gold Stickles to the center of the flower.

Love Notes - Try Something New

Hello, crafty friends!  I hope you're doing well.  It's time for a new Where Creativity Meets C9 Challenge!  This month's challenge is Try Something New which could be anything from trying out a new technique or like my post today some new products.

The members of the Where Creativity Meets C9 design team were lucky enough to be given some New products from this month's release.  Angie & Greg (the owners of Concord & 9th) were so sweet to surprise us with these fun new products.  I was sent, the new Love Notes stamp set and Love Notes Envelope dies.  Two of the dies in this set once cut, create a mini envelope with lots of possibilities for different closers, cut-outs and ways to dress it up including using the Love Notes stamp set which coordinates.  
For my first Love Note, you can see in the pictures above and below, I die cut a white cardstock envelope, then die cut a closer tab and stamped using the xo xo's along the bottom front and along the back flap.  I stamped the xo's in pink passion and pixie pink ink then blended on some pixie pink ink on top.  I also stamped the Love Note on the back flap and a pink heart on the closer tab.  Next I die cut the little tag and bow from the die set and stamped my For You in black ink and glued on the little bow and tied up my envelope with black & white bakers twine. For the note inside, I used a piece of pixie pink cardstock and heat embossed the Hugs & Kisses from the Hugs stamp set, then stamped the xo's again and blended on some pixie pink ink.

 For my second Love Note, I die cut an envelope from vellum and used white embossing powder to heat emboss the front (see first photo up top) and back flap with the outlined hearts from the Love Notes stamp set.  And before taping the envelope together, I die cut a closer tab.  For my inside card, I used another piece of pixie pink cardstock and stamped the xo's on an angle in pixie pink ink, then stamped the To You from Me sentiment on the front in black ink and glued on some silver die cut hearts.

Winter Wishes - Winter

Hello there!  This is my second post for today so if you're looking for my Newton's Nook Designs post, please view the post below this.   It's time for a new Where Creativity Meets C9 Challenge!  This month's challenge is all about Winter, so think frosty days with snow and icicles or in crafty terms, glitter, silver, white, blues or cozy colors.  I hope you'll pull out your Concord & 9th supplies and join us for this month's challenge.

 For my card, I used the Concord & 9th stamp sets, Flourish for the stamped leaves, stems and berries for my background and I used Sophisticated Script Uppercase and Sophisticated Script Lowercase to stamp my Winter Wishes sentiment.  I started out with an enchanted evening card base, then stamped a panel of white cardstock using spring rain & brocade blue inks and the large leaf/stem stamp from the Flourish set.  Then I went back in with enchanted evening ink to stamp some detail into the leaves.  Next I stamped my sentiment onto a die cut oval using enchanted evening ink.  A tip I can pass along when lining up these beautiful script letters is to stamp the center letters first and work your way out.  For instance, I stamped the "n" and "s" in each word and then stamped the reminder of my letters.  I also stamped off using spring rain ink onto my oval sentiment piece, then adhered it to my card with foam tape.  To a bit of sparkle, I added some silver sequins throughout my background.

Where Creativity Meets C9

Hello - Sparkle and Shine

Hello there!  We have a new challenge for this month up on the Where Creativity Meets C9 site and we hope you'll take the time to play along!  This month it's all about Sparkle and Shine!

 For my card I used the Concord & 9th stamp set Flourish and was aiming for a richer vintage look with some sparkle, so I used warmer colors.  I started out with a square of white cardstock and stamped the images from the Flourish set in chocolate chip, espresso, close to cocoa, kraft, pure poppy and scarlet jewel inks.  I blended some kraft ink over the whole piece and some espresso along the edges.  Then I used a Versa Mark ink pad over the whole stamped piece and dusted on some iridescent embossing powder and heat set with my heat tool.  Next I used a piece of kraft cardstock and using the Concord & 9th stamp set Sophisticated Script Uppercase & Sophisticated Script Lowercase I stamped my Hello sentiment.  After that I added a mat of scarlet jewel cardstock to my embossed piece and adhered it to my kraft panel, tied on some twine and adhered it using foam tape to a vanilla card base.

 In real life this card is actually very shimmery and at different angles picks up the iridescent sparkle.

Hello Friend - Watercolor

Hello crafty friends!  It's time for a new Where Creativity Meets C9 Challenge! This month it's all about using Watercolor on your Concord & 9th cards and projects and we hope you'll play along.

For my card I used the Concord & 9th stamp set Wildflower along with the stamp set Flourish for my sentiment. I started out watercoloring a piece of watercolor paper using tumbled glass and peacock feathers distress inks for my background.  Next I used another piece of watercolor paper and this time I used wilted violet, chipped sapphire and peacock feathers distress ink to watercolor.  Once this piece was dry, I stamped three of the  Wildflower images and then did some fussy cutting and cut them out.  After that I die cut a stitched frame from white cardstock and then heat embossed my sentiment onto black cardstock and cut the pieces out.  I adhered the frame, flowers and sentiment onto my watercolored panel, then attached it to my card front using foam tape.  As a finishing touch I used some wink of stella glitter pen on my flowers and glued on some silver sequins.
