Blossoming Branches - CTD625

Hello, hello! It feels like forever since the last time I posted here on my blog and it’s been months since I actually made a card. As if last year wasn’t crazy enough, our family made some BIG changes in the tail end of last year, all for the good, but I’ve been super busy. I’ll explain all of that in my next blog post but I wanted to make sure I was able to jump in and join my Color Throwdown team mates in this week’s challenge. The colors for this week are blue, pink and green.
I went with softer tones of the challenge colors and was thinking of spring and apple blossoms. I used the Ink to Paper stamp sets Blossoming Branches along with the Blossoming Branches dies and for my little blue bird I used the Feathered Friends Mini 1 stamp set and dies.

For my background I used a scrap piece of some My Minds Eye pink striped paper, added a horizontal strip of hibiscus burst card stock and stamped my sentiment from the Blossoming Branches set along the bottom. I stamped the bird in marina mist and bashful blue ink (su), the branch in chocolate chip (su), the flowers in hibiscus burst (stamped off) and raspberry fizz and the leaves in simply chartreuse and ripe avocado ink. I used the Mix & Mat Scallops die with white card stock and adhered all of my pieces, popping up the whole panel along with the bird and the three largest flowers with foam tape. I added some chunky glitter to the centers of the three largest flowers to give it some sparkle and to finish it off.
For more inspiration, check out the design teams blog links below or you can go to the Color Throwdown blog for details on how to play along and see all of the sample entries in one location.
