Heartfelt Condolences - CTD816

Hello, crafty friends! I know it’s been months since I’ve posted here on my blog but I have posted cards over on my Instagram page which you can find here: The Queen’s Scene

Today I’m here joining my other Color Throwdown team mates as we honor Barbara Anders who passed away recently from pancreatic cancer. Bar was the backbone of our Color Throwdown Challenge, she handled so many behind the scenes aspects of running our challenge but more than that Bar was a creative inspiration to myself and so many in the paper crafting world. Bar’s cards were beautiful and designed with an experts eye, stamp companies and other online sites were blessed to have her representing their products. I know that Bar is in the hands of the Lord and is resting and no longer in pain.
For my card today, I used this week’s colors along with the following Spellbinders dies: Autumn Sealed Sprigs and Sunflower Serenade and die cut the sunflower from cajun clay (PTI), the leaves from kraft card stock, the maple leaves from pumpkin pie (SU), the flower centers from chocolate chip and the small daisy flowers from apricot card stock. All of the pieces then had distress oxide ink blending on each of them.
For the background I used a piece of cream card stock and die cut it using the Outside in Stitched Rectangle dies, then stamped the Waffle Flower sentiment and used a wood impression plate for just the inside rectangle.
For more inspiration, check out the design teams blog links below or you can go to the Color Throwdown blog for details on how to play along and see all of the sample entries in one location.
