Fall Birthday Card - Inspired By Challenge

Hello there, crafty friends! Today I’m excited to be a guest designer with the talented design team over at the Inspired By Challenge!
For the Inspired By challenge you can choose to use the inspiration photo or the sketch, I chose to use both for my fall time birthday card. To created my card, I used the fun Lawn Fawn stamp set, Thanks a Bushel along with the Thanks a Bushel dies. I also used the Happy Harvest stamp set and dies for the cornstalks and sunflowers and the Pick of the Patch set and dies for the cute squirrels.
I started by stamping out all of my images, die cutting them and then coloring them with copic markers. Next I used the Stitched Scalloped Circle Frames die and die cut it from the white card stock. I used some tumbled glass distress oxide ink and blended it on the inside circle for my sky and used a piece of ripe avocado card stock for the grass. For my background, I used a piece of brown polka dot paper from my scraps and die cut it using the Outside in Stitched Rectangle dies. I added my colored images, popping up the two squirrels and two apples and added my sentiment which I used the Wavy Sayings set and Simple Wavy Banners dies.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you’ll take the time to play along with the Inspired By Challenge this week!

Scenic Path Mother’s Day Card

Hello! I’m popping in today to share another card that I created as a guest designer for Papertrey Ink/Ink to Paper. Today I’m sharing a Mother’s Day card that features the new Scenic Path cover plate die.
To create my card, I started out by using the Scenic Path cover plate die and die cutting it from spring moss card stock. Next I used the shrub stamp from the new Where it Leads stamp set and stamped the die cut shrubs from the cover plate and blended on some spring moss ink. On my white card base, I blended on some
hibiscus burst and spring moss ink.

After that, I used the new Mother & Father sentiment stamp set and heat embossed my Mother’s Day sentiment onto vellum with white embossing powder and then backed it up with a piece of aqua mist card stock. Once that was done, I used one of my favorite sets, Blossoming Branches along with the dies and stamped them in hibiscus burst and simply chartreuse ink. To finish off my card I added some iridescent sequins.
Thank you so much for stopping by!

To a Friend Like Gnome Other

Hi there! Today I’ve got my final project for the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge up over on the Lawn Fawnatics blog. It was so fun guest designing for this challenge, I love doing sketch challenges because I think they help you try something new, a different layout that maybe you wouldn’t normally try. I hope that you’ll take the time to play along!
For my card, I used the Lawn Fawn stamp set Oh Gnome along with the Oh Gnome dies to create a birthday card. These little gnomes are so adorable and fun to create with and with all of the images not only in the Oh Gnome set but with some of the other Lawn Fawn garden themed sets as well.
To create my card, I started out by stamping some of the images from the Oh Gnome set and coloring them using Copic markers (B21,B23, B24, B18, Y17, Y35, YR23, YG07, YG09, R05, R24, R27, E11, E95, E30, E31, E25, E27, N4, N7, C1, T3, 0) then die cut them out. Next I die cut the Mushroom House from Vanilla Malt and Chili Pepper cardstock and blended on some frayed burlap and candied apple distress inks. I die cut the little door and window to the mushroom house from a piece of yellow Knock on Wood paper. After that, I used the Outside In Stitched Circle Stackables dies to die cut a white cardstock circle and blended on some broken china distress ink for my sky. I used some Cilantro cardstock with the Grassy Hillside Borders die for the bottom of my die cut circle and then adhered the mushroom house with foam tape. Once my mushroom house was adhered to my die cut circle, I added the three mushroom images, the smallest red mushroom from the Gleeful Gardens stamp set. I added the girl gnome with flower, a die cut butterfly, the black smoke stack and the happy birthday sentiment which was from the Wavy Sayings set and stamped onto a Simple Wavy Banner
For the base of my card, I used a piece of Really Rainbow Scallops paper along with a piece of green Spring Fling paper and die cut them using the Outside In Stitched Rectangle dies. Next to give the illusion of the diagonal stripes from the sketch, I used the Little Picket Fence Border die and die cut it from white cardstock. Before adhering down my white picket fence, I blended on some broken china distress ink so the fence would pop a little more then I adhered two pieces of the green Spring Fling paper that I die cut using the Stitched Hillside Borders dies and Grassy Hillside Borders dies and I had blended on some lucky clover distress in along the edges. For my sentiment which was one long line, I used my Misti tool to stamp one half on top of another. Once my card base was done, I adhered my circle with the mushroom house using foam tape, added the two clouds which were from the Starry Backdrops stamp set and added the boy gnome with wheelbarrow.

Hap-pea Birthday Double Slider Surprise

Hello everyone and thank you for stopping by. I’ve got some super exciting news! I’m honored to be guest designing over at the Lawn Fawnatics blog! I can hardly believe it! The challenge that starts today is to design a card using the sketch below.
For my card, I used the Lawn Fawn stamp set Be Hap-pea along with the coordinating Be Hap-pea dies and the Double Slider Surprise dies to create a birthday card. I took some creative license with the sketch and instead of doing diagonal stripes on my card, I used images from the Be Hap-pea set to indicate where the stripes would be.
To create my card, I started off by stamping several of the peas, pea pods, leaves and tendrils from the Be Hap-pea set and coloring them using Copic markers (YG03, YG06, YG07, YG09, Y11, Y15, Y17, 0). While coloring the pea pods, I tried to indicate the seeds/peas inside each pod by leaving circular areas a lighter green. I also used some candied apple distress oxide ink to stamp the cheeks on the peas and used white gel pen for highlights on all of the images. I used a white card base, then added a piece of the new Spring Fling paper which I die cut using the Outside In Stitched Rectangle Stackables die. Next I die cut all of my main pieces for the Double Slider Surprise from white cardstock and die cut the slider pieces (the panels that pull out) from both white cardstock and Perfectly Plaid/Daffodil and adhered them together. Before I assembled my slider card, I adhered my images to the slider panels and on the bottom panel stamped my sentiment and music notes.
For the center pocket piece of my slider and the tabs to pull the panels out, I used more of the Spring Fling paper in yellow and green and used the Stitched Scalloped Circle Frames die to die cut a white scalloped circle for the center. I adhered my pea images within the scalloped circle, popping up the speech bubble and a single pea outside the circle with foam tape. Next I stamped the hap-pea sentiment and die cut a total of three of them and glued them together for added dimension, then stamped the birthday sentiment underneath. Once my whole double slider was completed, I added it to my card using foam tape.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Sunshine - Sunny Studio Guest Designer

Hi there!  I've got some exciting news to share, I was asked to do a guest designer spot over on the Sunny Studio Stamps blog today.
I created two cards using the adorable Sunny Studio's stamp set Sunny Sentiments along with the coordinating Sunshine Word Die and Sun Ray Die sets.
For my first card, I stamped one of the cute sunshine images from the set along with three of the cloud images onto white cardstock and colored them using Copic markers then cut them out.  Next I did some ink blending onto a panel of white cardstock using tumbled glass, mustard seed and spiced marmalade distress inks.  After that, I blended the same yellow distress inks onto a piece of yellow cardstock and used the Sun Ray Die to die cut them out.  I adhere my die cut sun rays onto my ink blended panel, making sure to leave room for my stamped sentiment.  I added my clouds and sunshine images next, popping up the sun and one of the clouds using foam tape and then stamped my sentiment along with three yellow stars.  I used the Sunshine Word Die and die cut that from black cardstock and adhered that below my stamped sentiment.  I added a vertical strip of yellow cardstock to a white card base and added my decorated cardstock panel using foam tape. As a final touch, I used some icicle Stickles to the three stamped stars and some Wink of Stella glitter pen to my sun rays.
For my second card, I used a piece of watercolor paper and watercolored some yellow and orange for the area I knew I wanted my sunshine and some grays and dots of aqua for where I wanted my clouds and rain drops.  I stamped the same sunshine and cloud images on to white cardstock again, coloring them with Copic markers and cutting them out.  Then on a scrap piece of paper, I die cut one of the sun rays using the  Sun Ray Dies and used it as a stencil, using mustard seed and marmalade distress inks, over the area I knew I was going to place my stamped sunshine image.  Next I used the same yellow distress inks onto a piece of yellow cardstock and die cut my Sunshine Word and adhered it to my panel, then stamped my sentiment and rain drops and adhered my clouds and sunshine, popping up the sun and one cloud with foam tape.  I used a white card base with a strip of yellow cardstock along the bottom and adhered my panel using foam tape.  For some added detail, I used some Glossy Accents on the rain drops and did dots of yellow Stickles on the sun rays.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

My Favorite Things Guest Designer

Hello there, crafty friends!
Today I'm happy to be sharing cards I created for my second post as a My Favorite Things Guest Designer.
For my first card, I used the adorable new stamp set, Fairy Happy to create a birthday shaker card.  I started out by stamping one of the sweet fairies from the set along with several of the little accent images like the flowers, butterflies and bees and colored them with Copic markers.  Next I did my die cutting using the Fairy Happy Die-namics.  After that, I used just the bee and the loopy trail stamps to stamp a piece of lime green cardstock for my background and die cut a square from the top portion of my card.  Then I used the Stitched Mini Scallop Square Die-namics to create a frame to go around my die cut window.  I used a piece of acetate and craft foam to create my shaker and filled the inside with the flowers, butterflies, hearts and bee images along with some sequins, beads and glitter.  To finish off my card, I added the fairy with foam tape, the tall flowers in the lower right corner and I stamped my sentiment onto a Stitched Fishtail Sentiment Strip and adhered it to the lower left of my card.  I also used a Wink of Stella glitter pen and went over the flowers and the fairies wings and dress.
For my second card, I used the Color Drops stamp set and Color Drops Die-namics to create what I think looks like a mod looking thank you card.  I used a white piece of cardstock, cut to card front size, and used the Stitched Star Grid Die-namics just along the left side.  Then I die cut several of the Color Drops in pink, orange and dark purple along with three die cut thanks from the Thanks & Hello Die-namics which I layered and glued together.  I adhered my die cut Color Drops along the stitched lines and then used the Color Drops stamp set and stamped dots in between each drop.  Toward the bottom of my card, I added a horizontal strip of dark purple cardstock with a thin strip of pink and glued on my die cut thanks.  As a finishing touch, I added matching sequins on a few of the stamped circles.
For my third and final card, I used the fun stamp set, Beary Big Adventure.  The first thing I did was to stamp some of the images from the set and color them with Copic markers, then die cut them using the coordinating Beary Big Adventure Die-namics.  Next I created my own designer paper look for my background by using the Chevron Grid Stencil onto pale blue cardstock and stormy sky distress ink. Then I stamped the two different sized flowers from the stamp set, coloring in the centers with white gel pen.  I used one of my favorite dies, the Square Peek-a-Boo Window Die-namics and die cut my stenciled piece.  Then using a separate piece of white cardstock, cut smaller than my card front, I die cut a square opening toward the top and adhered my stenciled piece over top of it to create a window.  I also added a strip of dark blue cardstock along the bottom and a Stitched Fishtail Sentiment Strip with my stamped sentiment.  I backed the die cut window with dark blue cardstock and adhered the panel with foam tape then added all of my stamped images, popping up the bear.

My Favorite Things Guest Designer

Today I'm excited to share that I was asked to do a few guest designer post for My Favorite Things.  This is the second time I've been asked to guest design for MFT and a true honor.  So for my first post, I'm sharing some colorful and fun cards that I've created using products from this month's MFT release.

For my first card, I wanted to come up with something different using the You're A-maze-ing stamp set and thought it would be fun to combine the set For Owl You Do and You're A-maze-ing set to make an OWL-maze-ing card.  I started out with a white piece of cardstock, cut to a card front size, and using my Misti tool I lined up all of the owl stamps in different directions and stamped them in black ink.  Next I used a Stitched Scallop Basic Edges die and die cut the bottom edge of my stamped piece.  For the bottom of my card, I stamped the You're A-maze-ing sentiment in black ink onto a piece of yellow cardstock cut to size and adhered it to my card front. Then on a piece of black cardstock, I stamped and heat embossed in white just part of the For Owl You Do sentiment, trimmed it down, matted it and adhered it over the A of the A-maze-ing portion of my sentiment.  Next I added a horizontal strip of black cardstock and my stamped and die cut Maze with a popped up yellow die cut heart in the center.  On top of that, I added an owl which I stamped and colored with Copic markers and die cut using the coordinating For Owl You Do Die-namics (he looks like a cape crusader doesn't he?).  As a final touch, I added some colorful enamel dots.
For my second card, I used the cute new Ocean Fun stamp set to create a shaker thank you card.  I started out by doing some ink blending for my background onto a piece of white cardstock.  I used blueprint sketch, mermaid lagoon, peacock feathers and tumbled glass distress inks.  I stamped the sea-life images in primary colors, die cut them out using the coordinating Ocean Fun Die-namics and added them to my ink blended panel.  Once my fish were adhered, I added googlie eyes to all the images and  I stamped some bubbles and small fish in the background.  Next I stamped two sentiments, one from the Ocean Fun set onto a Stitched Sentiment Strips and the thank you from the For Owl You Do set onto white cardstock which I cut down and made into a sign that the crab is holding.  To create my shaker, I used the Single Stitched Line Rectangle Frames die and foam tape and filled the shaker with iridescent and silver sequins.
For my third and final card for today, I used the adorable Birdie Brown set, Party Like a Pirate.  The first thing I did to create my card was to stamp some of the images and color them using Copic markers and then die cut them out using the coordinating Party Like a Pirate Die-namics.  To create my small scene, I blended on some mermaid lagoon distress ink (appropriate huh?) onto a die cut circle and added my images with foam tape.  Under my images I added my sentiment which I stamped onto a die cut Essential Fishtail Sentiment Strip.  For my card base, I used a piece of red cardstock which I
randomly stamped with the skull image from the set with red ink and a strip of black cardstock and since I didn't have black and white striped paper, I made my own using the Diagonal Stripes Stencil and black ink.

Tag You're It!

Hello, crafty friends!  Today I'm excited and honored to be the Tag You're It! Featured Artist for this week!  If you've never played along with the Tag You're It! Challenge, I highly recommend you give it a try.  It's a fun opportunity to create a gift tag, bookmark or any project that includes a tag.
For my project, I created a winter/Valentine's themed bookmark which I'm going to wrap up with some goodies for the ladies in my bookclub.  I used the My Favorite Things stamp set, Hug in a Mug along with the coordinating Hot Cocoa Cups Die-namics.  I started out by using the Papertrey Ink bookmark die which I cut from white cardstock.  Next I cut a piece of pure poppy cardstock and stamped it with the little heart stamp that comes in the Hug in a Mug set and adhered it to the top portion of my bookmark along with a piece of striped pure poppy designer paper with a white scalloped edge.  I used the My Favorite Things Let it Snowflake Die-namics to cut out a large snowflake and attached that along with my die cut mug.  Tucked underneath the edge of my mug, I added a die cut banner using the Stitched Sentiment Strips Die-namics which I stamped with part of my sentiment.  The sentiment actually is one stamp which I masked off so that I could stamp the top half in black ink and the bottom half in red ink.  As a finishing touch, I added red ribbon with a glittery snowflake button and red bakers twine.
Thank you for stopping by and I hope you'll take the time to pop over to the Tag You're It! Challenge and play along.
