Tag You’re It!

I’m here today to share a few of my favorite tags that I created while on the Tag You’re It Design Team.  Tracey, the creator of the Tag You’re It Challenge, has decided to close down the challenge and today some of the current and past design team members are coming together to share some of their favorite tags that they created.  I wanted to say thank you to Tracey for not only asking me to be a part of the Tag You’re It Design Team back then but for including me in this special last post for the challenge.
Thanks for stopping by!

Tag You're It!

Hello, crafty friends!  Today I'm excited and honored to be the Tag You're It! Featured Artist for this week!  If you've never played along with the Tag You're It! Challenge, I highly recommend you give it a try.  It's a fun opportunity to create a gift tag, bookmark or any project that includes a tag.
For my project, I created a winter/Valentine's themed bookmark which I'm going to wrap up with some goodies for the ladies in my bookclub.  I used the My Favorite Things stamp set, Hug in a Mug along with the coordinating Hot Cocoa Cups Die-namics.  I started out by using the Papertrey Ink bookmark die which I cut from white cardstock.  Next I cut a piece of pure poppy cardstock and stamped it with the little heart stamp that comes in the Hug in a Mug set and adhered it to the top portion of my bookmark along with a piece of striped pure poppy designer paper with a white scalloped edge.  I used the My Favorite Things Let it Snowflake Die-namics to cut out a large snowflake and attached that along with my die cut mug.  Tucked underneath the edge of my mug, I added a die cut banner using the Stitched Sentiment Strips Die-namics which I stamped with part of my sentiment.  The sentiment actually is one stamp which I masked off so that I could stamp the top half in black ink and the bottom half in red ink.  As a finishing touch, I added red ribbon with a glittery snowflake button and red bakers twine.
Thank you for stopping by and I hope you'll take the time to pop over to the Tag You're It! Challenge and play along.

Hello Sunshine

 Hello!  It's time for the Tag You're It! Challenge #24 and our inspiration for this challenge comes from design team member Anja and her adorable card with tag.
For my tag, I used the Papertrey Ink stamp sets Hello Sunshine and Noted along with the coordinating hello die.  I took my inspiration from Anja's watercolored tag and die cut hello.  I die cut my tag from watercolor paper, added mustard seed distress ink and watercolored a portion of my tag. Once that was try I stamped the sun and rays in summer sun, added my die cut hello, stamped my sunshine sentiment and added some rhinestones and bakers twine.
Sadly this is my last Tag You're It! post as a design team member, I've been on the Tag You're It! design team for two terms and I've enjoyed being a part of such a talented team but have decided to step down.

Happy Birthday to You - {TYIC#20}

Hi there!  It's time for the Tag You're It! Challenge #20 and our inspiration for this challenge is the lovely tag below by design team member Jen Mitchell.
Jen's tag is so striking and inspiring with the ombre colors and bold black, such great design.  I probably copied too closely to her design but I just loved her tag so much I couldn't find myself varying from it.  I used a Magenta bird stamp that I've had for a while (love a good bird stamp and Magenta stamps have been around for years).  I heat embossed the image using white powder, then used blending sponges to add my colors.  From the top I used limeade ice, daffodil delight and then hawaiian shores at the bottom.  I spritzed my tag with water for a bit of texture, added my heat embossed sentiment (PTI Garden Grace), a black punched circle with black and white bakers twine at the top and a few sequins to finish it off.

Have a great day!

Make a Wish - {TYIC#18}

Hi there!  It's time for the Tag You're It! Challenge #18 and our inspiration is the gorgeous card with tag below by design team member Nancy Penir.
The inspiration I took from Nancy's card where her pretty colors and kraft colored tag.  I used the Papertrey Ink stamp set Cupcake Collection to create a birthday tag.  I stamped and heat embossed the Make a Wish in white, then stamped the lower portion of my tag with polka dots using Ombre Builders.  After that I die cut and stamped the layers for my cupcake popping up the top raspberry fizz layer and adding a die cut flower with button.
Be sure to head on over to the Tag You're It! blog to find out how to play along and to see what the rest of the design team has created.

A Book is like a Garden - {TYIC#16}

Hi there!  It's time for the Tag You're It! Challenge #16 and our inspiration is the beautiful birthday card below by design team member Marybeth Lopez.
After seeing Marybeth's card, I took inspiration from her kraft colored leaves and berry colored flowers and decided to use the Papertrey Ink stamp set Strawberry Patch to create a bookmark.  For my sentiment I used the set All Booked Up and stamped in kraft ink I used the set Medallions.

Valentine's Day Tag - {TYIC#14}

Hello!  The Tag You're It design team is back in action this month and I'm glad to still be a part of the team.  Our guest designer for challenge #14 is the talented Debby Hughes.  I'm an admirer of Debby's work, her projects always have such a clean and gorgeous look.
For my tag, I used the Mama Elephant stamp set Pandamonium along with the Mama Elephant creative cuts for the tag and die cut hearts at the bottom of my tag.  After die cutting two tags, one black with white polka dots and one from white cardstock, I then die cut the hearts along the white tag and then embossed the top half using an embossing folder.  Then I masked off the top half of my tag with a post-it note and sponged on some picked raspberry distress ink over my hearts.  Once that was done, I used a piece of double sided tape above my sponged area and added some silver glitter.  For my sentiment, I used white embossing powder to heat emboss on a small black banner and added that just above the hearts.  The last things I added where my stamped and die cut panda, the heart he's holding and a few rhinestones.

Thanks for visiting!

Season's Greetings - {TYIC#11}

Hi there friends!  Today I have another fun tag that I created for the latest Tag You're It! Challenge.  The inspiration for challenge #11 is Maureen's gorgeous card with rose tag.
For my tag I pulled inspiration from Maureen's double tag layout and her chevron background.  I added a touch of chevron using some Doodlebug designer paper along the bottom of my tag and kept to a similar layout with my image and sentiment (even though I went the cute route instead of a more formal).  I used the Paper Smooches stamp set Swanky Snowdudes (love this set) and stamped, colored with Copics and glittered up one of the snowmen from the set.
Thanks for popping in and I hope you'll take the time to play along with the Tag You're It Challenge!

Sending Holiday Cheer - {25 Days of Christmas Tags/TYIC#11}

Hello crafty friends!  Today the Tag You're It! design team has posted a new challenge and along with the new challenge, the team is also joining in the 25 Days of Christmas Tags blog hop hosted by the talented Tracey McNeeley.
We were asked to create a Christmas tag using the latest Tag You're It! Challenge as our inspiration.
For my card I used the Hero Arts stamp set Sending Holiday Cheer.  I started out with a white card base, then a snowflake embossed panel and then my tag which I matted using a piece of My Mind's Eye Winter Wonderland designer paper.  The house was colored using Copic markers and to finish off my card I tied on some silver cording and added some glitter to my image.
Leave a comment here on this post by November 27th for a chance to win a prize from the following companies listed below.  And make sure to check out Tracey's blog each day for more 25 Days of Christmas Tags and chances to win.

Good luck and thanks for stopping by!
