Feathered Friends - CTD623

Hello! I’m popping in with my card for our last Color Throwdown Challenge for this year. We’ve got the colors green, aqua and pink to create with and we hope you’ll play along.
For my card, I used two Ink to Paper/Papertrey Ink stamp sets to create a thank you card. I started out by using stamp set Blossoming Branches and the Blossoming Branches dies and stamping the images in hibiscus burst and raspberry fizz for the flowers, new leaf for the leaves and chocolate chip for the branches.
Next I used the stamp set Feathered Friends Mini 5 with the coordinating Feathered Friends Mini 5 dies. I love this set not only because I love birds but because I actually own two parakeet’s so using this set is extra fun. I stamped the parakeet in limeade ice and new leaf ink with canyon clay for the beak and feet and used tumbled glass distress oxide ink for his cere (which shows that he’s a male). I also used tumbled glass and peacock feathers to along with a stencil to blend my background. I stamped my sentiment and added all of my images, popping up the bird and three flowers with foam tape then added some iridescent glitter to the center of each flower.

Sweet Birthday Wishes - CTD622

Hello! It’s time for this week’s Color Throwdown Challenge and we have some delicious colors to create with.
For my card I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Cupcake dies to create a birthday card. I started out by die cutting several pieces in red, cranberry, chocolate chip, cream and kraft card stock then blended on some vintage photo distress oxide ink along the edges of the cream pieces.
I used the Outside In Stitched Rectangle dies as a base for my cupcakes and matted it in red card stock and adhered it to my white card front with foam tape. I assembled all of my cupcake pieces and adhered them together, then added the Scripty Sweet die cut word which I die cut three times from red card stock and a banner for the birthday wishes sentiment which came from the Happy, Happy, Happy set.

Garden Friends - CTD620

Hi there, crafty friends! It’s time for this week’s Color Throwdown Challenge where we have the colors violet, mint and cream.
For my card I created a simple scene using the Hello Bluebird stamp set Garden Friends along with the coordinating Garden Friends dies. I stamped and die cut my images then colored them using Copic markers. I used the Outside In Stitched Square dies to die cut first a white card stock square for my images and then a square of some mint colored Lawn Fawn paper. I added some purple gingham paper along the bottom of my card base. I attached my images popping up the bird, butterfly and snail using foam tape and then used more foam tape to attache my mint polka dot paper to my card base.

Spellbinders November Large Die of the Month

Hello there! I’m popping in to share my card using the Spellbinders November Large Die of the MonthThis month's "Merry Stitching" large die set is perfect for making cards, decor, and more. I chose to use the snowflake die set from the kit and created a wintery blue and silver stitched snowflake Christmas card.
I started out by die cutting the snowflake from white card stock and used the embossed lines on the die cut piece as a guide line to stitch two colors of blue embroidery floss and then the silver metallic. I added some foam tape to the back of my stitched snowflake and attached it to a white die cut circle with navy scalloped mat.
For my background, I used a piece of brocade blue card stock and stamped it with snowflakes from the Papertrey Ink Silver White Winters stamp set which I also used for the sentiment which I embossed in silver. As a finishing touch, I added rhinestones in blue and clear to the stitched snowflake to give it some added sparkle.

Always - CTD616

Hello there! It’s time for this week’s Color Throwdown Challenge where we have some cozy colors to create with.
For my card I used the Waffle Flower stamp set Always along with the coordinating Always dies. I absolutely love these images designed by Flora Waycott, they are so fun to color and create with. I kept my card fairly clean and simple with the focus on the images. I stamped and die cut all of my images and then colored them using Copic markers.
Next I used the Single Stitched Line Rectangle Frames dies and die cut a piece of white card stock. Once that was done I blended on some antique linen distress oxide ink and using my Misti tool stamped my sentiment. I adhered my blended rectangle piece to a white card base and added my images, popping up the girl with bird.

Halloween Gift Tags - CTD615

Hello, crafty friends! It’s Wednesday and time for this week’s Color Throwdown Challenge. As soon as I saw the colors for this week’s challenge I thought of making fun tags for Halloween goody bags.
To create my Halloween gift tags, I used the adorable Hello Bluebird stamp set Frightful Little Bits which I stamped, die cut and colored using Copic markers. I used the Stitched Circle Tags and die cut them from black card stock then used a circle dies and die cut white circles for the images and orange circles for a mat.
I used some kraft card stock which I die cut using a circle die and again using the Stitched Hillside Borders dies and I also blended on some walnut stain distress ink along the bottom of each piece.
I added my images, popping up the main images with foam tape, and adhered all of them in little groupings on each tag then added some black and white bakers twine to finish them off.
