Elegant Flower Frame - CTD556

Hello! I hope your week is going well. Today is Wednesday and the start of a new Color Throwdown Challenge where we have the pretty colors of green, yellow, blue and kraft to create with.
Last Friday and Saturday was a fun two day getaway, I drove down to Ohio with a friend of mine where we attended the Stampawayusa convention. While I were there, I saw a collection of beautiful stamps designed by Catherine Scanlon and sold by Art Gone Wild and couldn’t resist making a purchasing. I love the illustrated look of Catherine Scanlon’s designs and coloring this image was so fun. My mind is filled with ideas on how to create cards using her stamps. The stamp I used for my card today is, Elegant Flower Frame. I used my Tim Holtz Stamping Platform to stamp this image onto white card stock and then I colored it using Copic markers. The sentiment is from the Words of Wisdom 2 set which I stamped into the open frame. Once I was done coloring, I did some fussy cutting and trimmed off the card stock along the outer edges and attached my piece to a kraft colored card base using foam tape. I thought it need something small with a bit of dimension so I stamped a bee from the Flora & Fauna stamp set Bee Kind and after coloring and cutting him out I added him near the frame with some foam tape. Other than that I used my Wink of Stella clear glitter pen on the bee’s wings, the blue flowers and the centers of the large yellow flowers.

Hello Friend

Hello!  Happy Thursday!  Today I'm sharing a card that I created for the Addicted to CAS Challenge which is to create a card using Inlaid Die(s).
For my card I used the Concord & 9th stamp set, Wildflower and stamped only two of the images from the set on to watercolor paper, the stem and flower stamps.  After stamping my images, I used circle dies in three different sizes and die cut circles from my stamped panel.  On these circles I used my Zig Clean Color Real Brushes and an aqua brush to watercolor in some color.  Only adding color to the circles is the Spotlighting technique. The only color I added to the main panel other than the circles was to use a silver glitter pen on the stems and stamens of the flowers.  Next I adhered my stamped panel onto black cardstock adding the circles back in place and used foam tape to pop up the whole panel and added it to my white card base.  To finish off my card, I stamped my sentiment from the MFT Label Maker Sentiments and added some silver sequins.
Thank you so much for your visit today!

Wildflower - (CTD387)

Hi there!  It's Wednesday and time for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge.  Before I get to my card, I'd like welcome this month's guest designer, Amy Rohl.
For my card I used a new to me stamp set by Concord & 9th, Wildflower.  I used a piece of watercolor paper and stamped my images using a Versa Mark ink pad and heat embossed with white embossing powder.  Then I used some Tim Holtz distress inks, festive berries, spiced marmalade, mustard seed and cracked pistachio to do my watercoloring.  For my sentiment I used the My Favorite Things stamp set, Label Maker Sentiments and stamped them using a black Palette ink pad.  The whole watercolored panel was popped up using foam tape and added to my white card base.  To add a little shimmer to my card, I added some iridescent sequins scattered throughout my flowers.

Happy Birthday to You - {TYIC#20}

Hi there!  It's time for the Tag You're It! Challenge #20 and our inspiration for this challenge is the lovely tag below by design team member Jen Mitchell.
Jen's tag is so striking and inspiring with the ombre colors and bold black, such great design.  I probably copied too closely to her design but I just loved her tag so much I couldn't find myself varying from it.  I used a Magenta bird stamp that I've had for a while (love a good bird stamp and Magenta stamps have been around for years).  I heat embossed the image using white powder, then used blending sponges to add my colors.  From the top I used limeade ice, daffodil delight and then hawaiian shores at the bottom.  I spritzed my tag with water for a bit of texture, added my heat embossed sentiment (PTI Garden Grace), a black punched circle with black and white bakers twine at the top and a few sequins to finish it off.

Have a great day!

Season's Greetings - {TYIC#11}

Hi there friends!  Today I have another fun tag that I created for the latest Tag You're It! Challenge.  The inspiration for challenge #11 is Maureen's gorgeous card with rose tag.
For my tag I pulled inspiration from Maureen's double tag layout and her chevron background.  I added a touch of chevron using some Doodlebug designer paper along the bottom of my tag and kept to a similar layout with my image and sentiment (even though I went the cute route instead of a more formal).  I used the Paper Smooches stamp set Swanky Snowdudes (love this set) and stamped, colored with Copics and glittered up one of the snowmen from the set.
Thanks for popping in and I hope you'll take the time to play along with the Tag You're It Challenge!

Sending Holiday Cheer - {25 Days of Christmas Tags/TYIC#11}

Hello crafty friends!  Today the Tag You're It! design team has posted a new challenge and along with the new challenge, the team is also joining in the 25 Days of Christmas Tags blog hop hosted by the talented Tracey McNeeley.
We were asked to create a Christmas tag using the latest Tag You're It! Challenge as our inspiration.
For my card I used the Hero Arts stamp set Sending Holiday Cheer.  I started out with a white card base, then a snowflake embossed panel and then my tag which I matted using a piece of My Mind's Eye Winter Wonderland designer paper.  The house was colored using Copic markers and to finish off my card I tied on some silver cording and added some glitter to my image.
Leave a comment here on this post by November 27th for a chance to win a prize from the following companies listed below.  And make sure to check out Tracey's blog each day for more 25 Days of Christmas Tags and chances to win.

Good luck and thanks for stopping by!

Season's Greetings - {Paper Smooches/CASology}

 Hello everyone!  I've got another Paper Smooches card showcasing the fun stamp set Swanky Snowdudes.  This stamp set is so fun to work with.  I'm entering this card in the Paper Smooches Anything Goes Challenge and also the CASology Challenge which is to use or incorporate a flag in your project.  After seeing the wonderful inspiration from their design team and looking at Kimberly's adorable penguin north pole card, I shamelessly cased her "north pole flag idea" for my own card.
For my card I started out with a white card base, then added a panel of white card stock with a smaller piece of Doodlebug Designer paper at the bottom.  I then stamped my snowman, north pole and bird onto a 2 1/2"x4 1/4" piece of white card stock and colored the images with Copic markers.  I added a white snow hill, sentiment flags and stamped three soft grey snowflakes.  The holly for the snowman's hat was stamped on scrap card stock, colored and attached then I added some glossy accents to the berries.  I also added some glitter to the snowman's scarf, the snowflakes and the little birds Santa hat.  The banners with button accent were added to the upper left corner of the card to finish it off.
Only 36 days until Christmas!

Let's Chill - {Fusion/Paper Smooches}

 Hello!  I hope you're having a good day.  The card I have for today is perfect for our weather here in Michigan with it's light snow, strong winds and freezing temps.
I used the fun Paper Smooches stamp set Swanky Snowdudes along with the sketch and inspiration from this week's Fusion Challenge.  I'm also entering this card in the Paper Smooches Anything Goes Challenge.  I started out with a white card base, then added a panel of hawaiian shores cardstock with a white embossed panel on top of that.  Next I cut a piece of white cardstock, stamped my sentiment in black ink, then used three different colored inks for an ombre look, inked up one side of my snowflake embossing folder and ran it through.  I colored my cute little snowdude using Copic markers and glittered him up, added some glittery buttons and a snowflake and I was finished.
If you live in a wintery state, I hope you stay warm.

Woohooo! - {SSSC244}

Hello everyone!  It's time for this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.  Karen has another fun sketch for all of us to create with and we hope you'll play along.
 When I first saw Karen's sketch for this week I was stumped, I thought how the heck am I going to come up with something fun using this lopsided sketch, lol.  Then I started pulling out stamp sets until I came across the Paper Smooches Chubby Chums set and knew what I wanted to create.  I already had pieces of the Doodlebug Happy Harvest designer paper laying all over my desk from the last card I made so I used some of that along with the cute owl image from the Chubby Chums set.  A little Copic marker for coloring my owl image and some Glossy Accents for his eyes, then I added some foam tape under him and he was set to go.
Be sure to check out what the rest of the Sweet Sunday Sketch Stampers have created:
Hope you have a wonderful day!
