Bundle of Joy

I was in need of a baby card for a baby shower I'm attending this weekend so I pulled out the Lawn Fawn stamp set Elphie Selfie along with the Elphie Selfie Lawn Cuts.
For my card, I used a white card base and die cut a circle through the top portion, then backed it up with a piece of white cardstock I had blended on some spring rain ink and stamped a few clouds using the Lawn Fawn stamp set, Hello Sunshine.  Then I die cut a scalloped circle frame and glued that around the opening in the front of my card.  Next I die cut a piece of spring moss cardstock with the Grassy Hillside Border die and added that along with a piece of saffron cardstock which I stamped with my congratulations from the Scripty Sayings set.  On top of these pieces, I added a strip of blue gingham paper with an edge of scallop and tied on some black & white bakers twine.  Then came the fun part.  I stamped all of my images and colored them with Copic markers, adding some white gel pen for added detail, then die cut them out and adhered them to my card front with foam tape.  For the little banner, I stamped the bundle of joy from the Papertrey Ink stamp set Mega Mixed Messages onto a piece of saffron cardstock and cut it down and adhered it onto the front of the stamped and die cut banner from the Elphie Selfie set.
Thanks for stopping by!

CR84FN30 - Fox & Friends

Wow June 1st already, can you believe it?  In another week or so my two teenagers will be out of school for the summer and since nether of them drive alone yet guess who gets to play taxi driver, lol?
I'm OK with driving them around and not in any hurry for them to drive on their own, I have enough grey hair to dye right now as it is.

The card that I have for today was created using the CR84FN30 Color Challenge colors and when I first saw the pastel colors I thought baby.  So I pulled out the SU stamp set Fox & Friends and went with it.  I kept my card clean and simple with a crumb cake card base, a panel of so saffron designer paper (3 1/4" x 3 1/4") with a white mat, then stamped the cute animal images in the three colors and punched them out using my square punches.  The one square was stamped with the "hello baby" from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set four times in the three colors then punched out and taped to a scallop square.  Then I applied a punched out star and button.  Along the bottom of the card I stamped my sentiment from the stamp set A Word for You, added a strip of pierced so saffron cardstock and my ribbon.
Enjoy your day!

SSSC111 - Bundle of Joy

I'm late with posting my Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge card today due to our Internet being down yesterday but I guess it's better late than never right?  That and you would think it would teach me not to be so last minute in getting my card posted.
I'm sure you're going to love this weeks sketch as much as I do, Karen came up with a fun sketch with lots of layers!  So you have to play along :)  The card that I created for the sketch is a baby card which I used the sweet Tina Wenke Mouse in Nutboat image.  I used my Copics to color in this image and even though its difficult to see I added glitter to the butterfly and dragonflies and used a Glaze pen to add shine to all the little bugs.  I always find it so fun adding all the details to a card like this, buttons, glitter, ribbon, a little bit of glaze or gloss.

Supplies: Mouse in Nutboat Tina Wenke, Mega Mixed Messages - PTI, True Blue DP My Minds Eye, Copics, Nesties, Ribbon, Buttons, Scallop border punch, Glitter, Glaze pen.  Colors: Chocolate Chip, So Saffron.

To play along create a card using Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch, then go to Karen’s blog The Sweetest Thing and link your card so we can all see your creation!

Be sure to visit each of the Sweet Sunday Stampers below for more samples using this week’s sketch!

TECC60 - Bella Baby Card

I've been a slacker as a blogger this week and the only excuse is that I've been busy. My youngest son went from having the flu last weekend which lead right into a full blown head cold this week with a high fever and needed his mommy. I'm happy to report that he is now feeling much better and almost all of us are well (I think I should knock on some wood). This winter has really kicked our butts as far as being sick in our family even with all the cleaning & lysoling in the world.

On to the card, I needed a card for a baby shower and the couple knows that they are having a boy so I used this TeddyBella stamp and the Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge sketch to create a baby card.
Supplies: Teddybella - Stamping Bella, Heidi Grace designer paper, Copics, Nesties, Cuttlebug Swiss Dot embossing, Flower w/button, Ribbon, Scallop edge punch. Colors: Brocade Blue, Barley Banana, Whisper White.

Rosy BITTYBLOOM for Bella

The Bella-riffic Friday Challenge this week was to create a card for a celebration since its Stamping Bella's 2 year anniversary. Well I know this card doesn't look like a celebration card but........ I always like roses for my anniversary so I thought why not. I've been wanting to create a card with one of the new Bittybloom stamps that I got in last week but I just hadn't made time until now. I actually had this card in my mind when I order this Rosy Bittybloom and now that I've made a card with her I think I'm in love! The image of her is so sweet and I can picture her being so many colors, I'm actually using this card as a baby card for a friend. You can see in the picture below how I stamped Rosy twice and colored the roses on her head, cut and popped them up and applied them to the second image. I used my Copics to color her and outlined all of the flowers with my Spica glitter pen (did I tell you how much I love this pen?).

Supplies: Rosy Bittybloom - Stamping Bella, Small Script - SU, Nesties, Copics, Spica glitter pen, Ribbon, Pop dots, Brads. Colors: Pink Pirouette, Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Whisper White.

Happy Anniversary Stamping Bella!!!!

PS did I mention that one lucky person that participates in my Anything Goes Bella Challenge will be picked to receive a bunch of stamped images of all the Bittyblooms that I have plus a little surprise! I'll pick a winner this Friday!

Scrappy Sketch #24

These scrapbook pages are for Cyndi's Scrappy Sketch #24! My pages for today are rather simple, without having any baby stickers or accents, I tried to add to my pages using small details so the focus stays on the pictures. The look on my son Connor's face when we were trying to feed him fruit and cereal the first time is priceless, he looks like "what the heck are they giving me now".

Supplies: Bazzill card stock, Buttons, Ribbon, Provo Craft designer paper (sorry forgot the name), Piercer w/mat, Cricut with All Mixed Up, Basic George, Opposites Attract cartridges, Computer lettering, Paper clip, Twine.

Stop by and check out Cyndi's fabulous pages for this weekends sketch!

Why not give it a try yourself?

A New Heart to Love

This baby card is for a new baby on my husband's side of the family. I kept this card relatively simple, I used Fun & Fast Notes for the baby carriage and Full of Life for the saying (I love this saying for a baby card). Yes I have naked buttons on this card, I just didn't have the time to keep going with it. My DH the landscaper has been working a ton, weekends included which is totally great, it just limits any creating time for me and by late at night I've been too tired. Our little guy who is 20 months old has really been keeping me on the move lately, I never remember our other two kids being THIS busy!

I really like the little flag (I guess that's what you call it) that I added, I've seen this being used some of the Karen Lockhart cards and I think its a neat little way of adding to the main image. I saw a trick on someones blog about how to get a perfect "v" cut into the end of your flag, you take and cut your strip of paper the length that you need, stamp your word or saying (leaving enough room for a brad) and insert one end into your square punch, holding your punch up side down and punch like this:

Supplies: Fun & Fast Notes, Full of Life, SU's New Scalloped border punch, Swiss Dot Cuttlebug embossing folder, Copics, Ribbon, Brad, Buttons, Nestabilities dies, Spica glitter pen, pop dots. Colors: New Pink Pirouette, Pretty in Pink, Barely Banana, Whisper White.

PS I'll be drawing the blog anniversary candy winner tomorrow!

Scrappy Sketch #17

These are my pages for Cyndi's Scrappy Sketch #17, yes more baby pages, I will be scrapping other things/people but for now I'm really trying to get some pages completed for my son Connor's scrapbook. Looking at these pictures makes me see how fast hes growing and how much hes changed already, this last Thursday he turned 1 1/2. I like this sketch layout because of the different panels behind the pictures, it really helps anchor your photos on the pages. For more examples using this sketch be sure to check out Cyndi and Heather's pages.

Supplies: Bazzill card stock, Doodlebug baby boy designer paper, Big Deal alphabet stamps - Stampin' Up, Hero Arts alphabet letters & numbers, Circle punches, Square punch, Photo corner punch, Jolee's stickers, Buttons. Ink: Cool Caribbean and Gable Green.

EXCITING NEWS!

This last week I was asked by my blogging friend Cyndi if I would like to be a member of her sketch team. I didn't even have to think about it, my answer was yes of course I would!

I've been using Cyndi's sketches since I started back up with my scrapbooking several months ago and I've enjoyed having her sketches as inspiration and a starting point to create my pages. So I'm happy to announce that I will be joining Cyndi and Heather to hopefully give some inspiration and another idea for Cyndi's weekly Scrappy Sketch.

Be sure to check out Cyndi's blog, The Scrappy Chick and Heather's blog Stamp with Heather for some wonderful examples using Scrappy Sketch #16

Supplies: Bazzill card stock, Paperfever ring-a-ding designer paper, Cricut lazer cutter for butterfly circles and lettering, Buttons, Pop dots.

Rollin Rollin Rollin

Here is another page layout for my sons scrapbook using a sketch from Cyndi Bundy. On Cyndi's blog the Scrappy Chick she is offering blog candy to someone if you use her Scrappy Sketch #15 on a layout and post a comment with a link to your pages. So these are mine, I used Doodlebug paper and card stock stickers, the Cricut for the lettering and brackets, buttons with floss and hand sewed the little X's.

Oh Baby!

I'm still waiting for the delivery of my new Stampin' Up stuff from the new catalog and in the mean time I've just been playing with the few new stamp sets that I have. I usually don't make new years resolutions because in the past I find that three months down the line I'm not sticking to them, but this year I told myself that the one thing I would like to do is send out more cards to family and friends. And since I'm usually making the card I need a day before someones birthday or the afternoon of someones wedding, I would like to stop having to do that and have a stash of cards on hand (that would be so nice) I could stop being a last minute lucy! So that being said these baby cards are going into my card box, just in case I need one.

Supplies: Cause for Celebration, Polka Dot BG, Hugs & Wishes, Circle punches, Scalloped circle punch, Word window punch, Ticket corner punch, SU markers, Ribbon, Brads, Scalloped scissors, pop dots. Colors: Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Bashful Blue, Brocade Blue, Whisper White.

Have a great weekend!

Swell News - Beate's Weekend Sketch

Well, I made this card for my friend Dawn who is expecting her fifth child. I'm very excited for her and her family, yes five children sounds like a lot, but she is a fabulous mother and loves children. I knew I wanted to make her a card so I borrowed this Swell News stamp set from my sister-in-law and happen to sit down to make the card last weekend when I saw Beate's sketch challenge and thought why not!

Hope she likes it.

Supplies: Swell News, Happiness BG, Looks Like Spring, Polka Dot BG stamp sets, Scalloped Circle Punch, Circle Punch, Piercer, White Gel Pen, Ribbon, Buttons, Coluzzle, Aqua Brush. Colors: Certainly Celery, Regal Rose, Apricot Appeal, Whisper White.

Connor's Baby Gift

Today I wanted to post something that was given as a gift to my son Connor after he was born. My friend Bonnie, who is so talented and anything she touches turns out a masterpiece made Connor this beautiful decorated paint can. The pictures don't do it justice, there is so much detail, on the front of the can she put Connors initials in tags, the handle is loaded with ribbon, on the sides she tied on the sweetest tags, little blue pacifiers and bells.

I feel so blessed to have such talented and wonderful friends and I hope that they don't mind that once in a while I show off some of their work and brag about them because their work is just to good to keep to my self. Thanks again Bonnie for the beautiful keepsake!

Bundled in Love Baby Card

This is one of the cards I'll be doing for my next Stamp Camp, I just love the hippo from this set!

All Supplies are Stampin' Up: Bundled in Love, See you Around Jumbo Wheel, Warm Words, Barely Banana, Bordering Blue, Sage Shadow (got to love that color wheel). The ribbon in the picture looks like it doesn't match for some reason, but I think its just the picture.

Connor's Name Frame

I made this name frame for my son's nursery, the little frogs from the stamp set Unfroggettable from Stampin' Up match his bed set perfectly.
