Skatin' By - {C4C283}

 Happy Saturday!  Today is the last Saturday of the month and the last day I'll be hosting over at the Crazy-4-Challenges site.  I'd like to give a big thank you to my fellow Sweet Sunday Sketch team mate, Vicki Burdick for being our Crazy-4-Challenges guest designer this month and for sharing her beautiful projects with us.

Here is the challenge for this week:
Since today is World Penguin Day and tomorrow is National Go Birding Day, lets create a card or project using some type of bird.
 For my card, I used the Mama Elephant stamp sets Arctic Penguins, Jolly and Merry and Happy Everything to create a birthday card.  I also used the Papertrey Ink stamp set Noted for my gray chevron along the bottom. I used The Card Concept Challenge #33 as inspiration and pulled the colors and chevron from the photo above.

Happy Mother's Day - {C4C282}

Hello friends!  It's the third Saturday of the month over at the Crazy-4-Challenges site and time for a sketch challenge.  I designed the sketch below for this week's challenge and hope you'll join in and play along.
For my card, I used the Papertrey Ink stamp set Garden Grace to create a Mother's Day card.  I started out with a white card base, then added an embossed center panel of aqua mist.  Next I added my sentiment banner and stamped and die cut floral piece.  I stamped the outline of the leaves in tropical teal and the inside in aqua mist and for the roses, I stamped the outline in scarlet jewel and the insides in rose red (su).  I added some red Stickles to the centers of the roses for a little sparkle and popped the whole image up using foam tape.

Friend - {C4C280}

 Hi there!  I'm hostess for the month of April over at the Crazy-4-Challenges site and I'm excited to have the talented Vicki Burdick as our guest designer!  Our first challenge kicks off today and I've challenged all the crazies out there to create a card or project that uses daisies as their inspiration since daisies are the flower for the month of April.

For my card I used the Papertrey Ink stamp sets Four of a Kind (retired) and Bitty Bouquets for my sentiment.  I used the ink colors Spring Moss for the stems and Daffodil Delight for the daisy flowers which I added pearls to the centers of.

Think Spring - {C4C279}

 Hello there!  Anja has another fun challenge for us this week over at the Crazy-4-Challenges site, it's Think SPRING!  We hope you'll take the time to play along with us.

For my card I used the Papertrey Ink stamp sets Garden Grace for the flowers and Mini Blooms for the sentiment.  I went with cheerful colors and used summer sun for the polka dot embossed background and summer sun and only orange for the flowers.  To add a little sparkle, I added some yellow Stickles to the flowers and some yellow gems around them.

Bring on the Bling - {C4C277}

Hello there!  Anja has a fun challenge for us this week over at the Crazy-4-Challenges site, it's Bring on the BLING!  We hope you'll take the time to play along with us.

I need a birthday card for my niece and thought this challenge would give me an opportunity to create something "blingy" that a teenager would like.  I used the Papertrey Ink stamp sets Wet Paint for my sentiment which I stamped in hawaiian shores onto a PTI die cute bookmark.  Once I stamped my sentiment, I used the PTI set Ombre Builders and stamped the top half of the bookmark using limeade Ice and hawaiian shore.  After that I attached my layered Beautiful Butterfly that I die cut, added three rhinestones on the body and to really bling it up, I added sequins the color of each stamped ombre.  I embossed the background with a PTI impressions plate, ran a line of double sided tape about a half inch down from the top and added glitter.  This card really looks so much better in person, it sparkles with all of the rhinestones, sequins and glitter.

Rosie Posie Birthday - {C4C274/RIC#78}

 Hi there!  If you live some place cold like I do, I hope you're staying warm.  Our kids were off school this last Thursday and Friday because of the bitter cold temps.  I don't know about you but I'm ready for spring!
The challenge this week over at the Crazy-4-Challenges site is a sketch and we hope you'll play along.  I ended up combining this week's sketch with the Runway Inspired Challenge #78.  I used the Papertrey Ink stamp set Rosie Posie for my flowers and Think Big Favorites #12 for the sentiment.

Simply Jane - {PTI/C4C#273}

 Happy Valentine's Day!!!
This week over at the Crazy-4-Challenges site we'll be celebrating Amethyst (the color purple), the birth stone for February.  So for my card, I decided to combine the C4C challenge which is to use the color purple and another of the Papertrey Ink Anniversary Challenges, the one where you are asked to create a card using several different floral sets to create a bouquet.
I added in the PTI Simply Jane stamp set to give my card a romantic look with the silhouette of the man and women and with the filagree frame around them.  And even though my bouquet is not that large, I used several different floral stamp sets to complete it.  I used The Sweet Life for the roses, Delightful Dahlia Additions and Happy Hydrangea.  I also die cut and stamped a few leaf branches from the Embellished Elegance stamp set for along side the frame.  It's difficult to tell by these photos, but I used the PTI ink Limeade Ice for the leaves and the SU colors Orchid Opulence, Lavender Lace and Elegant Eggplant for the frame and flowers.  I'll have to try and re-shoot these pictures with natural daylight to capture the true colors because they look more blue here than purple.

I hope you're spending time with someone you love!

Queen Bee - {C4C#272/MIM#200}

Hello there!  Kelli is our hostess for this month over at the Crazy-4-Challenges site and her challenge for this week is to create a Valentine card fit for a Queen.  I used this week's "Crazy" Challenge and combined it with the Papertrey Ink Make-it-Monday Challenge #200 where Dawn has challenged us to use our cover plate dies in a new way.
I used the Papertrey Ink stamp set Honey Bees and the hexagon cover plate to create a Queen Bee Valentine's Day card.  I also used the heart shaker shapes die to make my card into a shaker with sequins and mini hearts inside.
