Hugs - CTD501

Hello there, crafty friends! It’s time for this week’s Color Throwdown Challenge. Our colors for this week are gray, yellow and kraft.
For my card, I used a new to me stamp company and stamp set, I used the Waffle Flower set Always. I wanted this set the second I laid eyes on it, not only was it drawn by Flora Waycott who is an artist I admire and I’ve followed on Instagram for quite some time, but it also features a sweet image of a girl with a bird (I love birds).
To make my card, I used my Misti tool and stamped out all of the images from the set. Next I used my Copic markers to color the images I knew I wanted to use and then since I don’t have the dies yet, I hand cut each image out. After that, I die cut a piece of white cardstock using an Outside In Stitched Rectangle Stackables die and blended on some wild honey distress ink. I stamped my sentiment along the bottom of my inked piece and adhered it with foam tape to a gray piece of Doodlebug Designs gingham paper and my card base. Next I adhered my flowers and stems and then the girl image with more foam tape. To finish off my card, I added some silver and iridescent sequins.
For more inspiration, check out the design teams' blog links below OR you can go to the Color Throwdown blog for details on how to play along and you can see all the sample entries in one location.
