Happy 4th of July!

Happy Fourth of July to everyone in the USA!!!  Each year I try and make my mom a red, white and blue birthday card because her birthday is the day after the fourth but we usually end up celebrating on the fourth.  This year I used the Papertrey Ink Don't Forget to Write kit to create her card. I used the stencils from the kit to stencil the envelope and used the colors pure poppy, new leaf and pacific point (SU) along with some pure poppy designer paper.  I used some Copic markers in yellow to color the centers of the flowers and added some Wink of Stella glitter pen on some of the flowers for some sparkle.  I sponged some pacific point ink onto the center rectangle and die cut two of the "Sending" and glued them together before adhering it with foam tape.  This was such a fun card to make with the pieces of from this kit!

 Hello there!  It's time for the Color Throwdown Challenge #247.  Our hostess for this week is Barbara who chose some perfect colors for this time of year.

For my card I used the Papertrey Ink stamp sets Ruby Rose and Fillable Frames #5 with the coordinating dies to create a birthday card for my mom who's birthday is July 5th (No she does not read my blog, so she won't see this).

Happy 4th of July weekend to everyone in the states!  Today is Sunday which means it's time for the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge!

The card that I have for today is a birthday card for my mom who's birthday is July 5th.  Some times I create birthday cards for my mom that are flowery and pretty but today I went with the whole patriotic look and hope she likes it.  I used the Papertrey Ink stamp set Cupcake Collection along with the coordinating dies, some red white and blue designer paper that I've had in my stash forever, ribbon, an SU star punch and a button with red white bakers twine.

4th of July

Can you believe that next week is the fourth of July? for some reason I thought I had another week (other than this one) before the month of June was over. Why does time seem to go by so much faster the older you get? As a kid it felt like the summer would last forever, now as an adult the seasons feel like there flying by.

This Biker Bee image is a stamp that I purchased from my last trip to Hobby Lobby, I couldn't resist buying it especially after see my friend Dawn's card using this cute little bee, besides all of their stamps were 40% off so I got this one and a few others. Its hard to tell from the photo but I used my Distressed Stripes Cuttlebug embossing folder on the red panel and my Spica glitter pen on the bee's wings and antennas. This was a fun card to make and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out!
