Good morning! It's time for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge. We've got some pretty colors for our challenge this week which would be perfect for creating some pastel colored Valentine's or in my case a birthday card.
The card I created for this week's challenge was pretty clean and simple with the emphasis on the flowers. I used the Papertrey Ink anniversary stamp set, Painted Petals along with the coordinating dies. The flowers were two step stamping to give them a painted detail. I used lovely lady and hibiscus burst ink on the largest flower and aqua mist ink (stamping off for the main petals then full strength for the detail) on the other two flowers and my sentiment. For the stems and leaves I used mint julep ink. Once I had my images die cut and stamped, I die cut a lovely lady cardstock scalloped frame and adhered it to my white card base. Next I stamped my sentiment and arranged and adhered my flowers, popping up the largest pink daisy with foam tape. To finish off my card, I glued on some iridescent sequins and used some chunky irridescent Stickles on the flowers.
Lynn, this card is so pretty. Can u tell me which scalloped die u used for the frame? I love it! I love how you made some more of this card in different colors above. You have also inspired me to leave some envelopes out on my desk so I can remember to stamp some :)
Lynn, this is such a stunning floral design and looks fabulous in these colors! Just when I think I have more than enough flower stamps, I'm tempted by more! :-/
