Thanks

Hello and Happy New Year! I hope you enjoyed your holidays.  I unintentionally took a two week break from blogging, with so much to do for Christmas and even in-between Christmas and New Years, I needed the time to designate to family and friends as it should be.

With the new year and a fresh start, this is the perfect opportunity to say thank you to all of my readers out there.  Thank you for visiting my blog and for all of your sweet comments throughout the year, it really means so much to me.

Today I've got a fun Paper Smooches thank you card that I'm sharing using the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #217.
For my card, I used the Paper Smooches stamp sets Twiggy Florets and Sentiment Sampler and did a bit of heat emboss and watercoloring.  For my main panel, I used a piece of watercolor paper and heat embossed the flowers from the Twiggy Florets set with black embossing powder.  Once that was done, I used some distress inks (picked raspberry, spiced marmalade, crushed olive, broken china and festive berries) to do some watercoloring on each flower, then added some blue splatters of ink to the background.  Usually doing the heat embossing helps to hold the color in while watercoloring but this time I wanted something looser and flowers to be bolder.  To finish off my card, I matted my watercolored panel in black and I heat embossed my sentiment and adhered it to my card and added a few silver sequins.

Looks wonderful! I like that you heat embossed your flowers before adding the watercolor. I am definitely going to try this technique.

This is so pretty. I love the way you've watercolored the images with the colors bleeding outside the lines. It's so artsy! Thanks for playing along with us at Freshly Made Sketches!
