Friendship Blooms

Hello!  Today's card is one that I created using the Taylored Expressions March Key Ingredients Kit and the TE stamp set Friendship Blooms.  I love the mix of the My Mind's Eye designer papers with the fun ribbons and embellishments from this months kit.  I used the green rhinestone brads from the kit in the center of each of the flowers from the Friendship Blooms set and popped them up using foam tape, I also added a row of scallops toward the bottom of my card using the TE Medium Scallop Border Die.

Thanks for visiting!

Button Boutique Thank You

Happy Thursday!  I'm grateful that the sun is shining today but sure wish the snow we've had for the last few days would melt away and the temperature would rise.  I'm about done with winter and ready for spring.
The card I have for today is one that I created last weekend while I was at a Splitcoast Stampers Michigan Mingle stamping event with my good friend Vicki.  We had a great time stamping, talking and laughing and it was so nice get away.  I had fun creating this card which uses the Papertrey Ink stamp sets Button Boutique, Bitty Background Blocks and Inside & Out Thank You.  I'm loving these My Mind's Eye designer papers, the 6x6 packs are the perfect size and have such pretty patterns.

Supplies: Button Boutique, Bitty Background Blocks, Inside & Out Thank You - PTI, Doily Details Die, Button Card Die, Buttons, Linen Thread, Ribbon, Eyelet Border punch, Foam tape.  Colors: Chocolate Chip, Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie, Crumb Cake.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day!

Taylored Expressions Blast from the Past Blog Hop

Welcome!  Today is the Taylored Expressions Blast from the Past Blog Hop and whether you're hopping along or just stopping by I'm glad you're here!

The theme for this month's hop is "Spring" so I pulled out my TE Tweet Hearts stamp set with the sweet birds, flowers and branch along with the Taylored Expressions March Key Ingredients Kit to create my card.  I used a sheet of the pretty vibrant floral print and polka dot papers from the My Mind's Eye designer papers in the kit, added some ribbon and one of the cute wooden buttons all from the kit.  Then I stamped my branch and leaves, stamping and cutting the birds nest and bird separate and added them to the branch popping up the nest.  I stamped out and added my sentiment to the upper right hand corner of the card and it was complete.  For information on receiving a Key Ingredients Kit for yourself you can click here or for more ideas using this month's kit you can click here.

Enjoy the rest of the hop!

Birds

Hello!  Today's post was meant to be posted some time last week but never made it so here it is.  The card that I created was inspired by my baker rack that I have in our dinning area which is currently decorated with a bird theme which you'll see in a few of the pictures below.
I used a K&Company kit by Brenda Walton which contained vintage looking die cut bird pieces and combined them with a stamped Papertrey birdcage image (Love Birds), a Stampin' Up sentiment (Watercolor Trio) and some My Mind's Eye designer paper.

I figured while I was on my bird kick I would take a shot of my babies, my zebra finches Romeo (up front posing) & Juliet in the back ground.  They're fidgety little birds but very sweet and I enjoy watching the two of them together, the male is very protective of the female.

SSSC109 - Sweet Summer

Good morning!  It's time for the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.  Karen have another fun sketch for all of us to try and we hope you'll play along with this weeks challenge.

For my card today I used the SU stamp sets Sweet Summer and Curly Cute to create a thinking of you card.  I stamped the stems and the flowers and then stamped another set of flowers on scrap white cardstock, cut them out and used dimensionals to pop them up on top of the ones I had stamped on my main image.  Then I used my aqua brush and painted in my colors and added some dazzling diamonds to the little bee and the dots around the flowers and brushed in some Cool Caribbean in the back ground.

Supplies: Sweet Summer, Curly Cute, Sunny Garden DSP, Scallop border punch, Ribbon, Aqua brush, Dazzling Diamonds, Dimensionals.  Colors: Poppy Parade, Daffodil Delight, Cool Caribbean, Old Olive.

On a side note thank you again to those who sent well wishes to my youngest son, we had some good news this last week, good in that we finally found out what was causing his stomach pains.  After having his stomach scoped and samples taken more than a week ago his doctor told us that he has Celiac's Disease which means that his body can't digest food with gluton in it.  And after taking our son this last week for a kidney test we were also told by his kidney specialist doctor that the blockage in his left kidney was not sever and that he would need to come back for an ultrasound in three months in order to keep an eye on it but it may be something he grows out of.

CTD132 - Hello There & Happy Spring

Hello!  Today I have two cards that I created using this weeks Color Throwdown Challenge #132.  I liked the colors for this week's Throwdown because they were bright and springy.
The first card is a Stampin' Up only (SUO) card where I used the stamp set Cheep Talk and instead of using Baja Breeze which I didn't have I ended up using Cool Caribbean.
For my second card I use my new Papertrey Ink stamp sets Friendship Jar Spring Fillers, Bitty Background Blocks and Tag-its #1 along with the Doily Details die and coordinating jar and Button Card Die Collection set.
This a close up shot which shows some of the glitter that I added to the robins eggs inside the jar and more detail.

Hope these cards help you to Think Spring!

SSSC108 - Just Saying Hello

Good morning I hope you're doing well!  Are you ready for this weeks Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge (SSSC108)?  You're going to love this week's sketch, Karen must know how much I like circles!

For my card I used a Hero Arts mini stamp set that I purchased a long time ago and have never used (I really need to stop doing that).  I also used a Hero Arts All Occasions word set for my sentiment (that I have used) and paired the two sets with My Mind's Eye-Stella Rose designer paper.  This was a fun card to create!  I stamped the tree trunk and bird in Early Espresso ink and paper pieced the little bird, I also popped up his wing.  Then I colored the leaves and flowers using Copic markers and added gems to the centers of three flowers, then added that to my cut circles.  I did a bit of stitching around the outer edge of my wood grain designer paper and through the circle along near the scallop edge.  I added my sentiment flag then the layered die cut flowers along with two leaves and a button with bakers twine.  In the lower right corner I added three of the small gem flowers that came with this stamp set.

Maybe it's me but it seems that birds are really "in" lately because I see them everywhere (including at my own house) and since I love birds I'm going to take this next week and use some of the many bird stamp sets I have and create with them.  So I hope you like birds too!

Supplies: Bird with Branch, All Occasions Word Set - Hero Arts, My Mind's Eye-Stella Rose DP, Copics, Gems, Scallop border punch, Stitching, Nesties, Flower Die-MFT, Button, Bakers Twine.  Colors: Early Espresso, More Mustard, Pumpkin Pie, Certainly Celery, Always Artichoke.

A Simple Thank You

Hello friends, today I have a simple thank you card that I created and an explanation for not posting here on my blog.  I've been missing in action for almost two weeks now and I apologise for just dropping off and not posting an answer for my absents.
Our youngest son who is four years old has been going through some medical problems.  He has had stomach pains for the last six weeks which make him double over in pain and this is the second bout of having these types of pains so we took him to a GI specialist and he has been going through a number of different test with no answers.  So as you can imagine my mind has been distracted and worried thinking of the unknown.  After having to put our poor little guy through everything from blood work, ultrasound, upper GI test with x-rays and now yesterday a stomach scoping we wish we would find the answer to his pain.  Last week after we received the results of his ultrasound where everything came back normal other than the "new finding" as the doctor put it that his left kidney is not functioning properly.  Yesterday before the stomach scoping we had an appointment with a pediatric kidney specialist who told us that he thought our son's kidney problem was moderate and that we needed to take him for testing to see exactly how his kidney is functioning.  I'm grateful that if my son has a problem with his kidney that we found it now instead of finding it damaged later because of this problem but its all still very scary.  What ever the findings are with our son I pray that it can be fixed or controlled with medication.

Supplies: Love Birds & die, Fillable Frames #5 - PTI, So Saffron DSP, Ribbon, Polka Dot Impressions Folder, Foam tape.  Colors: Chocolate Chip, Ruby Red, So Saffron.
