WSC92 - Holiday Best

It's been a dreary rainy day all day here today and I'm actually glad, some times its nice to have a rainy day because I think it gives you an excuse to stay in your pajamas or sweats and curl up on the couch and watch a movie. That's exactly what I've been doing today along with a tiny bit of stamping.
My card today is for Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge, Sharon Harnist is the hostess for this weekend and had a fun sketch to try. I didn't have the style of Nestabilities die that made the shape from the sketch (which would have looked good with this image: must add to wish list) but I used my square Nesties die instead. I tried the sponging that Beate demonstrated on her blog and I really liked the soft look that it added and will have to try it again. It may be difficult to see from the photo but the swirls on the main image have Dazzling Diamonds on them and I stamped the Merry Christmas twice, once in Riding Hood Red and another in Chocolate Chip and cut out just the wording from the CC image and added it to the RHR image.

SSSC#29 - Trendy Trees

Happy Thursday everyone! The card that I have for today I created using Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch and the stamp set Trendy Trees. This card measures 4"x7" which fits nicely into a business size envelope, I used the colors Chocolate Chip and the new In Color Mellon Mambo.

Instead of doing one square image for the sketch I decided to stamp four of the trees to create my square.

Mojo Monday - Great Friend

Today's card is for the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge, this was a great layout and something different from what I've done before. Participating in any sketch challenge sure helps to keep you from getting in a card making rut and challenges you to try something different.
The base of this card is Old Olive, then a 4"x5 1/4" panel of Kiwi Kiss and a 3 3/4"x 3 7/8" piece of Kiwi Walk in the Park DSP with a strip of 1 1/2"x 3 7/8" piece of So Saffron designer paper. The Cameo piece measures 3 1/8" square and the center stamped label was stamped and pop dotted, the butterfly from the set was first stamped in So Saffron and then I rolled the edges of the butterfly in Cameo Coral.

TECC76 - Sparkly & Bright

Happy Monday everyone! Hope all of you had a nice weekend, ours was kicked back and relaxed with a barbecue yesterday, hamburgers, potatoes and lots of fresh sweet corn...yummy!

The card above was a little Christmas card that I made for the Taylored Expression Cupcake Challenge, yes I know Christmas already? This is only the second Christmas card this year that I have made and you can never start too early. Every year I make a batch of Christmas cards and think I have enough and still end up short, so hopefully this year I will have enough. For this card I used the stamp set Sparkly & Bright which I thought was such a cute set when I first saw it in the new SU catty. The noise on the reindeer has red SU glitter on it and I wasn't sure at first whether or not to add the googlie eyes on him but after I did I thought they looked fun.
