Hello! It’s Wednesday and time for this week’s Color Thowdown Challenge.

For my card I used this week’s fun colors and the cute Hello Bluebird stamp set, Frosty Friends and Frosty Friends dies to create a Christmas card. To get started, I stamped my images and colored them using Copic markers then die cut them out. After that I used the Skating Pond Scene die and die cut it from white card stock and then used some tumbled glass distress oxide ink and blended it onto the pond. Next I used the Outside In Stitched Square Stackables dies and die cut a piece of scrap hot pink paper to adhere to my card base and used the smaller size to die cut a white card stock square. On the white card stock square I adhered my pieces from the Skating Pond Scene and die cut the square again which cut off overlap and gave a nice stitched look. Once that was done, I blended more tumbled glass distress oxide ink along the edges. Once my background was done I adhered my images, popping up the penguins and little bird with foam tape, and added some snowflakes and glitter.

Merry Christmas - CTD570

Hello there! It’s Wednesday and time for this week’s Color Throwdown Challenge.

 For my card I used the Lawn Fawn stamp set, Ready, Set, Snow along with the coordinating Ready, Set, Snow dies to create a Christmas card. I used the Outside In Stitched Square Stackables dies to first emboss my card base with the stitched lines and then again to die cut a piece of red striped Doodlebug paper and a strip of Knit Picky Fall paper. Once those two steps were done, I stamped my images, stamping the trees in gray ink, and colored the snowmen and snow globe base using Copic markers. For the top portion of the snow globe, I created a mask and blended on some tumbled glass and peacock feathers distress oxide ink. After that, I heat dried the blended ink with my heat tool and then heat embossed the snowflakes within the snow globe using white embossing powder. I adhered my snow globe to my stitched square and attached the snowmen and stitched square to my card using foam tape. I die cut some snowflakes using the Mini Snowflakes dies and added some glitter to the inside of the snow globe.

Have a Novel Birthday

Hello! Good morning! I’m popping in to share a card that I created using the fun My Favorite Things stamp set Our Story. I don’t know about you but I’m an avid reader and once the fall/winter temps get cold I love to snuggle up with a good book, a cup of tea and my cat, so this set definitely speaks to me.

 To create my card, I used the pretty colors from the current Sunday Stamps Challenge and the MFT Our Story stamp set and Our Story dies. I used the Outside In Stitched Rectangle Stackables dies to die cut a piece of Doodlebug paper for my background and a strip of Perfectly Plaid fall paper. I stamped my sentiment and die cut it using the Stitched Fishtail Sentiment Strips die.   I also used the Outside In Stitched Square Stackables dies to die cut a piece of Knock on Wood paper and Knit Picky paper for my images. I stamped my images and colored them using Copic markers then die cut them out and adhered them to my stitched square, popping up the girl in the chair, the stack of books and the cat with foam tape. I also used foam tape to pop up the stitched square which I adhered to my background.

Fall Floral Hello - CTD568

Hello and happy Wednesday! I’m hosting this week over at the Color Throwdown Challenge and I chose some warm autumn colors for us to create with. I hope you’ll take the time to join us and play along using the colors, orange, brown, green and cream. Before I get to my card, I’d like to welcome November’s CTD guest designer, Michelle Lupton.

Using this week’s colors, I wanted to create a floral card but with a natural fall feel to it so I used the Hello Bluebird stamp set Wildflower Bouquet with the Wildflower Bouquet dies. I started out with a white card base, then using the Outside In Stitched Rectangle Stackable dies I die cut a white card stock panel. Using the same rectangle dies, I created my own stencil from card stock and blended on some antique linen distress oxide ink and stamped my sentiment from the Cheery Greetings stamp set. Next I die cut a bunch of the flowers, stems and berries using the Wildflower Bouquet dies and stamped them  using canyon clay, terra-cotta tile, spring moss, simply chartreuse:(PTI), chocolate chip and pumpkin pie:(SU) and antique linen distress oxide. For a touch of sparkle, I added some rust colored rhinestones.

I Can Smell Autumn Dancing in the Breeze

 Happy Friday! It’s day three and the final day of my Hello Bluebird Mini Card Series. Today’s card features the sweet Fall Friends stamp set which is one of my favorites solely because of the deer image carrying the books, not that the other images aren’t cute, they definitely are, but just because I’m a reader and book lover. I thought the two critter images with the deers scarf blowing in the wind and fall leaves in the breeze would be perfect paired with this sentiment from the Pumpkin Time set. As mentioned above, for my card today I used the Hello Bluebird stamp set Fall Friends and the Fall Friends dies. I stamped my images and colored them using Copic markers then die cut them out. For my background, I used some perfectly plaid fall paper and die cut it using the Outside In Stitched Square Stackables dies. I also used the Outside In Stitched Circle Stackables dies and die cut a white card stock circle which I blended some antique linen distress oxide ink along the outer edges and stamped my sentiment from the Pumpkin Time stamp set. I popped up the die cut circle and fox image with foam tape and adhered the rest of my images to complete my card.
