Hello there! I’m hostess for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge #548! I chose some mermalicious colors for all of us to create with after I found this fun mermaid cupcake inspiration photo with it’s mermaid tail and delicious colors. I hope you'll like creating with the colors Pink, Aqua, Lavender and Mint for this week's challenge and I hope they inspire you to create something special.
This was such a fun card to create using these pastel colors! I usually don’t use pastels that often but I like this combination. To create my card I used the Lawn Fawn stamp set Mermaid for You. I just purchased the Peekaboo Backdrop die recently because I’ve seen so many cute cards created with it, so I decide to used it for my card today. To create my background, I used tumbled glass, cracked pistachio, broken china and a little picked raspberry distress oxide ink and used a wave stencil. After that I watered down some white craft paint and added some spatters. I die cut some mint julep card stock and along the bottom blended on some cracked pistachio and lucky clover distress oxide ink. The sentiment, smaller seaweed and bubbles are from the Seahorsin’ Around set and dies and I stamped the sentiment onto a Simple Wavy Banners. For the sandy ocean bottom, I used the Stitched Hillside Borders die and some kraft card stock. For the other fish I used the stamp sets You are Sublime and dies and Fintastic Friends and dies and I colored all of my images with Copic markers.
