Lawn Fawn Thank You - (CTD408)

Hello there!  It's my turn to host over at the Color Throwdown Challenge for this week and since it's back to school time I thought I would go with some fun primary colors.
For my card I used the fun Lawn Fawn stamp sets Love You a Latte and Scripty Sayings to create a teacher thank you card that I can slip a Starbucks gift card into.
I kept my card fairly clean and simple with the focus on the colorful coffee cups.  I die cut my stitched white panel for the front of my card, then stamped my thank you sentiment along the bottom. Next I added a strip of black and white polka dotted designer paper and a piece of black cardstock.  After that I stamped and die cut each of the coffee cups and colored them with Prisma colored pencils and arranged them into the black strip of cardstock and adhered them down popping up the yellow mustache cup.  To add a splash of color to the top of my card, I added three banners from scrap designer paper.

Hello Friend - (CTD407)

Hello there!  It's Wednesday and time for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge!
For my card, I used the My Favorite Things stamp sets Pretty Posies and Label Maker Sentiments along with a MFT Hello die and designer paper.  I started out with a white card base then die cut a smaller stitched panel of white cardstock adding that to my card base with foam tape.  Then I cut a strip of yellow striped designer paper and adhered that down the middle and added a horizontal strip of tropical teal cardstock across the top portion of my card.  I die cut two of the Hello out of black cardstock and glued them together and adhered that across the top of the strip of teal then added three watercolored roses with leaves tucking the top rose underneath the strip of teal cardstock.  I then added the stamped Friend sentiment along the bottom and glued on three silver sequins.

Sweet Birthday Wishes - (CTD406)

Hi there, crafty friends!  It's time for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge!
I'm using the fun My Favorite Things Celebrate with Cake stamp set again (I'm loving this set for birthday cards and so much more) and made another birthday card.  I used some orange Doodlebug Designs paper for my background, then created a shadowbox affect by die cutting a scalloped frame, one from white cardstock and another from fun foam and glued them together.  Next I used the die cut rectangle from my scalloped frame and used some spiced marmalade distress ink and sponged on some color.  Then I die cut the cake, cake stand, flowers w/leaves and candles and stamped them.  For the layers of cake, I inked them up with hibiscus burst ink and then just along the top of each cake layer I dabbed them into raspberry fizz ink for an ombre effect.  Once all of my pieces were stamped, I adhered them into the window of my frame and added my sentiment banner and tiny pearls to the centers of the flowers.

Make a Wish

Happy Sunday!  Today I've got a card that I created for the My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge #293 using the fun MFT's stamp sets Celebrate with Cake & Big Birthday Sentiments.
I ended up flipping the sketch upside down for my card so that I could use the larger area on top for my cake and the smaller for my sentiment.  I used the MFT striped pink sorbet paper and used my Misti to create the pink and yellow sentiment.  I used daffodil delight (SU) and hibiscus burst (PTI) ink along with going gray (SU) for the cake stand and I added small yellow rhinestones to the centers of each flower.

Linda Carson

Thank you to all of you who left comments on my card and for playing along.  Linda if you could please send me your email address to: queen(dot)bee7306(@)yahoo(dot)com I will make sure you receive your Concord & 9th gift card.

You still have a chance to win a $20 C&9th gift card by hopping along with the Concord & 9th Birthday Bash Celebration throughout the rest of this month.  Click HERE for all the details.
I made a card for today's announcement using another of my favorite Concord & 9th stamp sets, You Are Enough.  This set is so fun to uses with watercolors and this card came together easily.  On a piece of watercolor paper I stamped the outline image of the flower from the set three times in black ink, slightly overlapping them.  Once my ink was set I used my Gansai Tambi watercolors and watercolored my flowers and background.  Once my watercolored piece was dry, I adhered to a white card front, then I stamped my sentiment on a die cut circle, cut a strip of black cardstock and adhered both to my card popping up the sentiment circle with foam tape.  To finish it off I added some silver sequins.

You Color My World

Hello there!  This is my second post for today so if you are looking for my Color Throwdown post please see the post below this.  The card I'm sharing a card I made for the current Lawnscaping Challenge #135 which is all about adding pattern to your card.
I'm not so sure that I really like the way this card came out, I had an idea that I wanted a window of color on my card where the remaining portion of the scene would be almost colorless.  Almost like spotlighting the main images on the card with color.  I used the Lawn Fawn stamp set Fairy Friends and for my sentiment I used the LF set Starry Backdrops.  I added pattern by using some polka dot gray designer papers and die cut them using the LF stitched hills dies.  I used Copic markers to color my scene and some tumbled glass distress ink to blend my blue sky.  I used some yellow stickles on the fairy's wand and the center of the orange flower and some Wink of Stella glitter on the fairies wings and dress.
Thank you for your visit and have a nice day!

Thank You - (CTD405)

Hello and happy Wednesday!  It's time for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge!
After seeing the colors and inspiration photo for challenge #405 I immediately thought of using the Papertrey Ink stamp set Pretty Petals to create a card.  I ended up making three simple thank you cards using the same colors and supplies but different layouts.
I used the PTI colors hawaiian shores and simply chartreuse along with an SU daffodil yellow.  The thank you sentiment is from the PTI set Thank You Kindly.  I also used some square stitched dies a circle punch and silver sequins on each card.

Concord & 9th Birthday Bash Blog Hop!!!

Hello there, crafty friends!  I'm excited to be participating in the Concord & 9th Birthday Bash Blog Hop!  Throughout the month of August, Concord & 9th is celebrating their 9th birthday by having current and past guest designers share a project they've created.

To add to the excitement, Concord & 9th is generously giving away a $20.00 gift card to use in their online store to one randomly chosen person, all you have to do is leave a comment here on this blog post telling me your favorite Concord & 9th stamp set or die.  Even if you don't own any Concord & 9th products, just follow this link to their store and browse around then come back here and leave your comment.  You have one week from today to comment, ONE comment per person please.
For my card I used the Concord & 9th stamp sets, Wildflower and You are Enough and had fun doing some Copic marker coloring.  I started out by using black Palette ink and stamped three of the main flowers.  Then on a scrap piece of paper I stamped the same flowers again and cut them out so that I could use them as a mask before stamping the rest of my flowers.  Next I stamped my sentiment from the You are Enough set and heat set  the ink using my heat tool.  I started coloring my leaves first using two shades of green (YG00/YG25), then next I colored the large pink flower (RV11/RV23/RV14/RV25), then the yellow flowers (Y11/Y15/Y17/Y38).  I moved on to the three orange flowers (Y38/YR16/YR18) and then blended in some color around the flowers and stems for a background (BG10/BG32/BG15/BG18).  To finish off my card I used some foam tape to adhere it to a white card base and then added some iridescent sequins and some Wink of Stella glitter pen to the centers of the flowers.
Thanks for stopping by and good luck!
