CTD182 - Birthday Button Boutique

Hello there!  It's time for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge.
Tammy is our hostess with the mostest for this week and she's picked some great colors with a sweet inspiration photo to go along with it.
For my card I not only went with the colors for this week but the theme of the inspiration photo as well.  I used the Papertrey Ink stamp set Button Boutique along with the coordinating Button Card die.  I really liked all of the different pattern fabrics in the cute pin cushion in the inspiration photo and tried to add a little of that onto my card by using some My Mind's Eye designer paper and a layer of embossing on the red panel.  In keeping with the whole sewing theme I added my buttons with twine and two pins within the knot of my ribbon.
Supplies: Button Boutique + dies - PTI, My Mind's Eye dp, Buttons, Twine, Ribbon, Pins, Impressions plate, Scallop border die, Foam tape.

Be sure to check out what the other design team members have come up with for this week's Color Throwdown challenge!

  7. Oh Lynn, I am always a fan of your work, but there is something extra special about this one! Maybe it's the tricky color combo-you have balanced it so beautifully with the playfulness of the button card. Thanks for the inspiration!

  11. Ya' know, I fought off the urge to buy that Button stamp set a long time ago, and now you've renewed my "need" for it! This is just too cute, Lynn... great layout (I say again, you need to have your own sketch challenge!) and you used these colors fabulously! Love the addition of the pins on the ribbon, too!
