Hello friends! Today is the Papertrey Ink July Blog Hop, the challenge this month was to create a card or project using the photo below as our inspiration. I ended up creating two cards this last Saturday while stamping with friends, one with more detail and the other more clean and simple.
For my first card I used the PTI stamp set Daydreamer and stamped out the sentiment, grass and three of the flowers. Two of the flowers I stamped separately and popped them up using foam tape for some added dimension. I used a PTI die cut butterfly with some linen thread, some My Mind's Eye designer paper and three rhinestones in the bottom right corner.
For my second card I used the PTI butterfly die again and die cut six butterflies in three different colors and layered them together with green rhinestones down the centers. I adhered the butterflies to a panel that I had stamped with a sentiment from the Signature Greetings set and embossed using the wood grain impressions plate. The base of the card was randomly stamped using the Mehndi Medallion stamp set.
Thank you for stopping by and enjoy the hop!

ReplyDeletebeautiful cards! That first one, especially, is a stunner.
ReplyDeleteI love both of these cards, Lynn! The first one is so coordinated (love that dsp) and beautiful! The second one is such a clean and simple card and I love the Mehndi background and woodgrain texture. Fabulous job!!!
ReplyDeleteGORGEOUS cards, but I really am drawn to your first one!!!
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are so lovely, but like Marge, I am drawn to your first one. I love how the vertical element reminds you of the orange curtains. Your butterfly just floats on top of the card and all that orange. SO GORGEOUS!
ReplyDeleteBoth are just GORGEOUS!! Love these.
ReplyDeleteLynn
These are gorgeous cards Lynn, but like Marge and Kari the first one has the edge for me. I love how you have used the rectanglular and circle layers to build up your design. Fabulous.

ReplyDeleteBoth cards are so pretty. With the great layout and eyecatching papers, I thought at first that I liked the orange card best (love the thread tied around the butterfly to give it antennae), but as I looked at the details on the blue card, I decided it's actually my fav. Love the colors, the stamped background, the 3 soft butterflies, embossing, sentiment...everything! Beautiful card.
ReplyDeleteWow, Lynn, both are beautiful! Your first card, you picked the perfect papers to match that inspiration piece! Fabulous!
