SSSC128/Tuesday Trigger: Squares to Cherish

Hi there!  This last week was super busy, but then again this whole month has seem to fly by, can you believe tomorrow is August first already?  I can't! 

Today is the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #128.  I used Karen's fabulous sketch along with the Tuesday Trigger: Squares to Cherish Challenge (inspiration photo below) to create my card.  Seeing the inspiration photo for the Tuesday Trigger Challenge brought a flood of ideas to my mind and also made me think of the crochet blankets I've received from two very special women.  The first person was my grandmother who was always busy crocheting or doing crafts and the second my mother-in-law who gave me the most beautiful crochet blanket as a wedding shower gift.  These blankets truly are Squares to Cherish.  Every time I use one of these precious blankets I think of all the time and love that went into making them, the remarkable women that created them and how much I miss both my grandma and mother-in-law and wish they were here with us.

Supplies: Think Big Favorites #3, Bitty Background Blocks, Button Boutique die, Flower die, White felt, Button, Ribbon, Nestie Scallop Square, Sending You die (for leaves), Foam Tape.  Colors: Basic Black, Marina Mist, Mellow Moss, Certainly Celery, White.

As I'm finishing this post I just realized after looking at the sketch again that my panel is tilted the wrong way...darn those tilted panels! Lol

July Papertrey Ink Blog Hop

Hello friends!  Today is the Papertrey Ink July Blog Hop, the challenge this month was to create a card or project using the photo below as our inspiration.  I ended up creating two cards this last Saturday while stamping with friends, one with more detail and the other more clean and simple.

For my first card I used the PTI stamp set Daydreamer and stamped out the sentiment, grass and three of the flowers.  Two of the flowers I stamped separately and popped them up using foam tape for some added dimension.  I used a PTI die cut butterfly with some linen thread, some My Mind's Eye designer paper and three rhinestones in the bottom right corner.

For my second card I used the PTI butterfly die again and die cut six butterflies in three different colors and layered them together with green rhinestones down the centers.  I adhered the butterflies to a panel that I had stamped with a sentiment from the Signature Greetings set and embossed using the wood grain impressions plate.   The base of the card was randomly stamped using the Mehndi Medallion stamp set.

SSSC127 - Hello Friend

Good morning!  It's time for the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #127.  For my card today I ended up flipping Karen's sketch and using the PTI stamp set Little Bitty Bird as well as the coordinating bird dies and the picket fence die.  I kept my card sweet and simple and used the colors crumb cake and pretty in pink, I added some polka dot embossing to the top portion of the pink cardstock, added some linen thread and a pink button and it was complete.

PTI Stamp-a-faire - Sending You

It's evening time here right now and I'm having a stamping get together with a few of my friends and I thought I would play along with one of the Papertrey Ink Stamp-a-faire Challenges.  Challenge #4 is a color challenge and I used the PTI stamp set Sending You along with the coordinating dies, a scalloped circle nestibilities die for the flower and a green rhinestone for the center.  The colors that I used were pacific blue, old olive, kiwi kiss and tempting turquoise.

Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger - Flower Fusion

Hello how are you?  Here in Michigan we're having a heat wave, most of this week we've been in the 90's and it's been humid.  Tomorrow's forecast might possibly reach the 100 degree mark and all I can say is thank God for our central air!

Well the card I have for today is another one for the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger Challenge...yes another one.  While I had so much of the supplies out on my work area from my last two cards and the image of the inspiration photo still in my head I ran with it and created another card.  This time instead of going with the yellow and black like my last two cards I went with a softer shabby chic look drawing from the pink rose patterned background in the inspiration photo.  I used the PTI stamp sets Flower Fusion #1 and the watering can from Garden Variety.  The flower was die cut using the Beautiful Blooms II die and a piece of yellow fleece then I added a pink button and twine.

Supplies: Flower Fusion #1, Garden Variety + die, Girl's Paperie Kitch collection dp, Button, Yellow fleece, Beautiful Blooms II die, Twine, Doily Details Die, Medium Scallop border die - TE, Polka Dot embossing, Ribbon, Stitching, Foam tape.

SSSC126 - Merci

Bonjour!  It's Sunday and that means it's time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge!  I absolutely love Karen's sketch for today, the square for your main image with the border underneath and the large sized banner to the left...loooove it!

 Ever since I saw the inspiration photo (below) on the Moxie Fab World site for the Tuesday Trigger Challenge I haven't been able to get it out of my head.  So today's card is not only for the SSSC#126 but also my second card for the Tuesday Trigger Challenge. 

I used the Papertrey Ink stamp set Think Big Favorites #3 along with the MFT rolled roses die, the Taylored Expressions Leafy Branch die and Medium Scallop Border die.  I paired those items with some stitched ribbon, Making Memories designer paper, polka dot embossing folder and some black rhinestones.

Hey There Cupcake!

TGIF everyone!  Are you ready for the weekend?  I am, I feel like all I've been doing is driving my three kids around, between my oldest in classes everyday at 8am, my youngest in kindergarten readiness classes at 9am and my daughter's cheer practice at 10am and then all of them needing to be picked up I'm practically living in my van.

Anywhoo...today I have a quick card that I created using the Papertrey Ink stamp set Cupcake Collection and coordinating dies along with the Banner Builder die set and some Cosmo Cricket DeLovely designer paper.  I used the colors melon mambo and daffodil delight.

Tuesday Trigger - Vintage Style

Hello friends!  Today I have a card to share that I created for the Moxie Fab World: Tuesday Trigger Challenge.  Below is the inspiration photo for the challenge, don't you just love this beautiful coat?  What struck me first was the pretty yellow color of course along with the black buttons and the roll of the collar on the coat. 

For my card I decided to use the Papertrey Ink stamp set Button Boutique and use a clean straight forward layout with the main accent being the yellow flower with button center.

Supplies: Button Boutique + BB dies, Chip board for button, Beautiful Blooms II flower dies, Sending You leaf die, Ribbon, Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder - SU, Making Memories dp.  Colors: Basic Black, Daffodil Delight.

Garden Variety - Thanks so Much

Hello, today I have another card using the PTI Garden Variety set. I'm having fun creating with this stamp set, I love all of the fun garden images it contains and I can't seem to get enough of the cute picket fence die either.

Other than using the Garden Variety set for my card I also used the flower/fence image from the Friendship Jar Spring Fillers and stamped and colored the image with Copic markers. Then I die cut the GV seed packet frame, stamped and sponged the edge with crumb cake ink and attached my image. It may be difficult to see but for the picket fence I used the wood grain impressions plate on some early espresso cardstock and then die cut the fence.

Supplies: Garden Variety & coordinating die, Picket fence die, Wood grain Impressions Plate, Friendship Jar Spring Fillers, Buttons, Linen Thread, Copics, Ribbon, My Mind's Eye dp, Mega Mixed Messages, Tag die, Foam tape.  Colors: Early Espresso, Really Rust.

SSSC125 - Let Us Be Grateful...

It's time for the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #125.  For my card I used the Papertrey Ink stamp set Garden Variety along with the coordinating dies and the set Inside & Out Thank You.  As you can see I ended up flipping Karen's sketch only because I wanted to use the combination of the Garden Variety set along with the sentiment I picked out from the Inside & Out Thank You and the only way I could get it to work was to flip it.  This "Let us be Grateful" sentiment is one of my favorites, I actually have a Mary Engelbreit (love her work) print in my laundry room with this sentiment on it (see photo below) and thought it would work well with the GV images.

Supplies: Garden Variety with dies, Inside & Out Thank You - PTI, My Mind's Eye Stella Rose DP, Circle Nesties, SU flower punch, Brad, MS Picket Fence punch, Linen Thread, Foam tape.  Colors: Early Espresso, Really Rust, Taken with Teal, Old Olive.

Botanical Silhouettes - With Sympathy

Hello!  I hope all you who celebrate the 4th of July enjoyed your weekend!  We took a road trip up north to spend three and a half days with family and enjoyed our time catching up with family, the lake, sun, boating, a beautiful fireworks display and so much more.

Today I have a sympathy card to share, it's never fun to create a sympathy card when you actually need one and yesterday that was the case for this card.  My husband's uncle passed away Tuesday and I wanted to create a card for the family.  I used the Papertrey Ink anniversary stamp set Botanical Silhouettes and kept my card clean and simple.  I popped up one of the stamped blooms and added black glitter to the centers of each flower, stamped the sentiment onto vellum, notched out an area on the image and added a black button and used the lattice embossing folder for a textured background.

SSSC124 - Celebrate Today

Happy 4th of July weekend to everyone in the states!  Today is Sunday which means it's time for the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge!

The card that I have for today is a birthday card for my mom who's birthday is July 5th.  Some times I create birthday cards for my mom that are flowery and pretty but today I went with the whole patriotic look and hope she likes it.  I used the Papertrey Ink stamp set Cupcake Collection along with the coordinating dies, some red white and blue designer paper that I've had in my stash forever, ribbon, an SU star punch and a button with red white bakers twine.
