SSSC109 - Sweet Summer

Good morning!  It's time for the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.  Karen have another fun sketch for all of us to try and we hope you'll play along with this weeks challenge.

For my card today I used the SU stamp sets Sweet Summer and Curly Cute to create a thinking of you card.  I stamped the stems and the flowers and then stamped another set of flowers on scrap white cardstock, cut them out and used dimensionals to pop them up on top of the ones I had stamped on my main image.  Then I used my aqua brush and painted in my colors and added some dazzling diamonds to the little bee and the dots around the flowers and brushed in some Cool Caribbean in the back ground.

Supplies: Sweet Summer, Curly Cute, Sunny Garden DSP, Scallop border punch, Ribbon, Aqua brush, Dazzling Diamonds, Dimensionals.  Colors: Poppy Parade, Daffodil Delight, Cool Caribbean, Old Olive.

To play along create a card using Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch, then go to Karen’s blog The Sweetest Thing and link your card so we can all see your creation!

Be sure to visit each of the Sweet Sunday Stampers below for more samples using this week’s sketch!

On a side note thank you again to those who sent well wishes to my youngest son, we had some good news this last week, good in that we finally found out what was causing his stomach pains.  After having his stomach scoped and samples taken more than a week ago his doctor told us that he has Celiac's Disease which means that his body can't digest food with gluton in it.  And after taking our son this last week for a kidney test we were also told by his kidney specialist doctor that the blockage in his left kidney was not sever and that he would need to come back for an ultrasound in three months in order to keep an eye on it but it may be something he grows out of.

  1. Oh Lynn! I'm so happy to hear that the doctors have found the problems to your son's stomach problems! Now that you know, you can change his diet. I have a very good friend that has Celiac's disease too and if she's careful what she eats....all is good. Hope he starts to feel much better now :)

  3. Happy Hi Lynn,
I follow your blog faithfully and adore ALL your creations, but don't comment as often as I should. As always, this card is just amazing! Love it! Such a sweet touch of SPRING!
So sorry to read about your son's health issues, but thankfully your are getting the answers you need and will get him feeling better soon. Gluton intolerance seems to be very common.
Thanks for sharing our talent with all of us. You rock my stampin' world! ♥ Smiles, Pam :)

Hey, I understand you were two tables away at mingle, wish we'd had time for a chat! I have celiac and have to avoid gluten, any time you want to talk about what is safe, what actually tastes good, send me a PM! I'm just peggysue on SCS.

  14. I'm SO happy they've discovered what was causing his belly aches! We have a gluten allergy in the family too and changing the diet has helped a ton, so stay positive :) There are so many great resources for recipes too.

  15. First of all, I'm SO glad you have some answers about your son and that it's something you can deal with. I read this earlier when you posted it and meant to e-mail you as I was at work and am not able to leave comments on blogs from work (which is why I'm such a bad blog commenter as I do most of my blog surfing at work).

Now, about the card - it's fabulous! I especially love those popped up flowers!! I've never seen that set, but you make me feel like I need to go find it!
