Happily Ever After

This last weekend our family had the honor of celebrating our nieces wedding. It was a destination wedding and it was absolutely beautiful. The bride was gorgeous and the groom so handsome, everyone was happy to be a part of their special day.

The card I’m sharing today was the card I created for the newlyweds, I used the Colorado Craft Company stamp set Happily Ever After along with the Happily Ever After dies and used the colors they were using for the wedding. I love these sweet illustrations by Anita Jeram.

To create my card, I stamped the large image onto a white card stock panel and then stamped the smaller images from the set like the bride and groom, wedding cake and gift and die cut them out.

I used copic markers to color all of the images and added white iridescent glitter to the brides gown, headpiece and all of the flowers and I used yellow glitter for the champagne and confetti.

After all of my pieces were colored, I added the smaller pieces, the cake and gift and then popped up the bride and groom using foam tape. Once that was done I adhered the whole panel to a piece of blue card stock and added it to my card base. 

I also stamped the inside of the card with the sentiment from the set as well as the smaller image of the flower girl but forgot to take pictures.

Just Mason Around - CTD653

Hi there, crafty friends! I’ve been missing the last week or so due to family occasions and events that have been going on but I hope to get back to posting on a normal basis real soon. July is ending and it seems like the summer is flying by!

For this week’s Color Throwdown Challenge we have some cheerful bright colors to create with using pink, orange, yellow and green.

Using this week’s CTD colors, I created two cards using products from The Greetery. I used the Just Mason Around stamp set and dies along with the fun Lemon Blossom stamp set and Lemon Blossom dies.

For the background on both cards, I used Doodlebug Dots & Stripes paper and die cut each piece using the Outside In Stitched Rectangle dies. I also used the Papertrey Ink Mix & Mat: Scallops die which I die cut from white card stock for each card. 

For the mason jar I used the ink colors, mint julep and old olive, the lemons I used daffodil delight stamping off for the solid image and full force for the detail. The orange slice I stamped in mango melody, the leaves in old olive and the flowers in hibiscus burst and raspberry fizz. I popped up a few of the lemons on each card and also the white scalloped panels using foam tape and added some yellow glitter in the centers of the flowers and dots of glitter on the lemons.

Toucan Do It - CTD651

Hello, crafty friends! It’s time for this week’s Color Throwdown Challenge where we have some fantastic colors to create with!

I’m excited to share a fun card I create with the new Lawn Fawn stamp set Toucan Do It along with the coordinating Toucan Do It dies. I was inspired by the tropical leaves on the outfit of the inspiration photo for this week’s CTD challenge and decided to make it work. 

To create my card, I stamped a bunch of the images from the Toucan Do It stamp set using my Misti tool, die cut them out and colored them using copic markers. I also used the tall grass images from the Gleeful Gardens stamp set and dies. Once that was done, I worked on my background scene. I die cut a piece of white card stock using the Outside In Stitched Rectangle dies and then blended on some distress oxide inks starting with the lightest at the top, salty ocean, faded jeans and chipped sapphire along the bottom. Once my blending was done I used a paint brush and splattered droplets of water onto my ink blended panel and blotted them with paper towel. Using my Misti tool again I stamped just a portion of the sentiment from the Toucan Do It set (the Have a Wild) and then used the Happy, Happy, Happy stamp set to heat emboss the word Birthday onto black card stock.

Next I used the Grassy Hillside Border dies and die cut two pieces, one in new leaf card stock and another using hawaiian shores card stock. On the new leaf die cut piece I blended on some lucky clover distress ink and on the hawaiian shores piece I blended on some peacock feathers ink. Once that was done I used the new Tropical Vine Borders die which I die cut from new leaf card stock and glued it along the top of my panel then started adding all of my images, popping up the two leopards and toucans with foam tape.

Let’s Coffee Soon - CTD650

Hi there! Happy Wednesday! It’s time for this week’s Color Throwdown Challenge where we have the colors yellow, gray, black and white to create with.

Today I’m sharing another fun Colorado Craft Company slimline card that I created using the Coffee House stamp set and Coffee House dies. These were illustrated by the talented Anita Jeram and they couldn’t be cuter.

I started out by die cutting a piece of white card stock using the Small Slimline with Flaps die and using that as my base for all of my images that I stamped, die cut and colored using copic markers. These little mice are so fun to color! You can add detail to any of the images like I did here (see photo below) with the coffee cup by adding a few stripes or like I did in my last post by adding flowers to the cups. Before adhering my images to my white panel, I also add shadow lines so it doesn’t look my images are floating.

Once my images were colored, I used foam tape to pop up the two mice with the coffee grinder and the right front mouse holding up the coffee cup. I matted my white panel with more mustard card stock and adhered both pieces to a black slimline card base.
