Holiday Double Slider Surprise Gift Card Holder - CTD523

Hello there and happy Wednesday!  Today starts the last Color Throwdown Challenge for this year and we have some perfect colors for the holiday season.
For my card, I used the Lawn Fawn stamp set Thanks a Latte along with the Thanks a Latte dies to create a slider card. I made two of these slider cards to hold Starbucks gift cards for a couple of my son’s teachers at his school. This was the first time I’ve used the new Double Slider Surprise die to create a slider card and at first I thought it would be difficult to put together but after watching the video here, it was a snap.
To create my slider card, I stamped a bunch of the images from the Thanks a Latte set and colored them with Copic markers then die cut them out. Next I used the Double Slider Surprise dies and die cut all of the main pieces from white card stock. I used some older North Pole Doodlebug paper along with some kraft card stock for the actual slider and some green woodgrain Knock on Wood paper for on my card base which I die cut using the Outside In Stitched Rectangle Stackables dies. I’m actually running low on Christmas paper so I guess it’s time to buy some more. I used foam tape to adhere the slider card portion to my card base so its easier to get your fingers in there to pull the slider tabs. That and it gives my son an area to write a message to his teacher inside the card.
Above and below are a few close up shots and it’s difficult to see but I added some Wink of Stella glitter pen in the center of each snowflake for a little sparkle and I popped up the whipped cream, marshmallow and snowflake one the top main panel with foam tape. Also you’ll notice below I stamped the enjoy sentiment from the Tiny Tag Sayings set onto a little banner. What I did was to die cut a whole banner using the banner die from the Double Slider Surprise dies and then die cut it a second time to the size I wanted but only running it through my die cut machine half way.

Merry Christmas - CTD522

Hello, hello! It’s been a few week’s since I’ve posted anything here on my blog because I was sick with a nasty upper respiratory infection. After finally feeling better a few days ago, I was then a bit overwhelmed with everything that needed to get done. But I’m back and sharing a card I created for the current Color Throwdown Challenge where I used the adorable new Hello Bluebird stamp set Frosty Littles.

For my card, I started out with a white card base, then added a panel of gingham Doodlebug paper that I die cut using the Outside In Stitched Rectangle Stackables. Next I used the same rectangle dies to die cut a piece of white paper. Then I used some Pixie Dust sparkle paper and die cut that with the rectangle dies as well along with the Stitched Hillside Border dies. After that, I used the Hello Bluebird stamp set Merry Wishes and stamped my sentiment along the top of my card using Misty tool. Once that was done, I used the Frosty Littles stamp set and stamped my images then colored them with copic markers and die cut them out using the Frosty Littles dies. For added sparkle, I added some glitter to the snowmen hats and bodies.

Hi Cutie Pie - CTD520

Hello! It’s time for a new Color Throwdown Challenge. For this week’s challenge we have some great earth tone colors to create with.
For my card, I used a combination of different Lawn Fawn stamps to create a circle shaped card for the Lawn Fawnatics current challenge. I started out by stamping the pie image from the Cutie Pie set and die cutting it out using the Cutie Pie die. Next I stamped the squirrels from the Pick of the Patch set and used the Pick of the Patch dies to die cut them out. And then the three apples from the Thanks a Bushel set and dies. After that I colored all of the images using copic markers and added foam tape to the back of the squirrels. I stamped my Cutie Pie sentiment on to a kraft colored banner that I die cut using the Fancy Folded Banners. I die cut my circle card base from chocolate chip card stock, then I die cut some simply chartreuse card stock using a scallop circle die and added foam tape to the back and adhered that to my circle card base. I used some cream yard stock and die cut a circle then added some Doodlebug kraft gingham paper for along the bottom which I die cut using the Stitched Hillside Borders die.

Frosty Friends - CTD519

Hello and Happy Wednesday! Today starts a new Color Throwdown Challenge and we have some fantastic colors that are perfect for the holiday season.

I used this week’s CTD colors and the Hello Bluebird stamp set Frosty Friends along with the Frosty Friends dies to create a set of Christmas tags. To create my tags, I stamped a bunch of the images from the Frosty Friends set and colored them with Copic markers and then die cut them out. Next I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circle Tags die and die cut three tags from red cardstock and then three white cardstock circles. I used the little snowflake stamps from the set and some aqua mist ink to stamp the upper portion of each white circle and used some Pixie Dust sparkle cardstock and the Stitched Hillside Borders for along the bottom of the circles for my snow. After that, I adhered my images, popping up the snowmen and small gift with foam tape and added white gel pen and glitter to some of the images then tied on some ribbon and Christmas bakers twine.

So Thankful that we’re Friends - CTD518

Hello, hello! I’m hostess this week over at the Color Throwdown blog and I’ve chosen some cozy fall colors for all of us to create with. I hope you’ll join in and play along. Before I get to my card, I’d like to welcome this month’s guest designer, Caly Person.
For my card, I used the Lawn Fawn stamp set Thanks a Latte along with the Thanks a Latte dies. Who doesn’t like a big mug of coffee with a piece of pumpkin pie? I know I do especially after cooking a Thanksgiving dinner. I started out by stamping the mug and leaf images from the Thanks a Latte set, then stamped the slice of pie from the retired Happy Feast set (which I cut out by hand), then the spoon and plate from the Love You a Latte set and the pumpkins from the Happy Harvest set. I stamped all of my images and colored them with Copic markers then die cut them out. I stamped my sentiment from the Jump for Joy set onto a piece of kraft cardstock which I had blended on some cocoa ink along the edges. I used the Outside In Stitched Rectangle Stackables dies with some Doodlebug orange gingham paper and some Perfectly Plaid Fall paper

When Friends Gather... CTD517

Happy Halloween! It’s hard to believe that it's October 31st and we’re moving into November already.
Today starts a new Color Throwdown Challenge with some great fall colors and we hope you’ll play along.
For my card I used the Hello Bluebird stamp set Fall Friends along with the Fall Friends dies. As soon as I saw the inspiration challenge photo with the books, I knew I wanted to use these cute images. I started out by stamping several of the images from the set and coloring them using Copic markers then die cut them out. Next I used some Lawn Fawn Knit Picky Fall paper and die cut my frame from the brown patterned paper using the Hello Bluebird Gallery Frame Die #3. For my background, I used a piece of teal paper from the same knit picky paper pack and for my hill slope, I used some Happy Harvest Doodlebug paper and die cut it using the Stitched Hillside Borders die. I adhered all of my images, popping up the fox with foam tape, and then added my panel to a white card base.

Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice - CTD516

Hello, crafty friends! Today is Wednesday which means that it's time for a new Color Throwdown Challenge.
For my card, I used the Hello Bluebird stamp set Autumn Gatherings along with the Autumn Gatherings dies to make a fall themed card for a friend. The little critters in this stamp set are adorable and the sentiments that coordinate are super fun. I started out by stamping the fox image along with a few leaves and a pumpkin and colored them using Copic markers, then die cut them out. I just love how when you die cut these critters, the arms die cut leaving a slot to slid in everything from a coffee to pie. I used the Outside In Stitched Rectangle Stackables dies and die cut a white rectangle, then used some tumbled glass and peacock feathers distress inks and did a blended background. Next I die cut a piece of cream cardstock to ground my images and blended some cocoa ink along the edges and adhered that to the bottom of my rectangle. Then I adhered that to a stitched die cut rectangle of tropical teal cardstock. I added my images, popping up the fox using foam tape. I used a white card base and added a die cut stitched piece of Doodlebug Design happy harvest paper with a strip of Lawn Fawn Knit Picky teal paper toward the bottom.
