Hello Teacher - (CTD458)

Happy Wednesday!  I'm hosting the new Color Throwdown Challenge that starts today and I've chosen a few primary colors which I thought would be fun to create with since it's back to school time.
Using the colors I picked for our challenge, I decided to create a few tags to wrap up some goodies for my youngest son's teachers for the first day of school.  I used the Lawn Fawn stamp set Thanks a Bushel along with the Thanks a Bushel Lawn Cuts.  I started out by die cutting two Lawn Fawn Stitched Circle Tags and blending on some mustard seed distress ink in the centers.  Next I added the grass which I die cut using the Grassy Hillside Borders die and I stamped my sentiment.  The sentiment was stamped from two different stamp sets, I used the word teacher from the Thanks a Bushel set and the hello from the Elphie Selfie set.  After that, I had stamped all of my images and colored them with Copic markers and I adhered the bushel of apples and a single apple to my tag using foam tape.  I also die cut a smaller tag from the Lawn Fawn Tiny Tags dies and stamped the to and from from the Tiny Tag Sayings: Birthday set and attached one of the apples I had stamped, die cut and colored along the edge then tied them both together with black and white bakers twine.

HIPPO BIRD-DAY - (CTD457)

Hi there!  I hope you're having a good day!  I'm here to share my card for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge.  We've got some sweet colors for our challenge this week and we hope you'll take the time to play along.
For my card, I used the adorable My Favorite Things Happy Hippos stamp set and Happy Hippos coordinating Die-namics to create a birthday card.  I used a white card base, then added a white frame that I die cut using the Single Stitched Line Rectangle Frames Die-namics.  Next I added a stitched rectangle using some MFT Dots & Stripes Sorbet designer paper and Inside & Out Stitched Rectangle dies.  The pink striped paper looks darker in my pictures for some reason, it's not really that dark of a pink.  I also stamped my sentiment on a Stitched Fishtail Sentiment Strips which I shortened by die cutting once, then stamping and then lining the banner piece up in the die again where I wanted cut and running it through again.  I stamped and colored these fun little hippos with Copic markers and after adhering my sentiment banner along the bottom of my card, I added my stacked up hippos with foam tape then added the balloons birds and some silver sequins.

Fairy Happy - (CTD456)

Hi there, crafty friends!  It's Wednesday and time for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge #456!
For my card, I used the sweet My Favorite Things stamp set, Fairy Happy along with the coordinating Fairy Happy Die-namics to create a birthday card.
I started out by die cutting my main panel using the Lawn Fawn Outside-In Stitched Rectangle Stackables dies.  I then blended on some mustard seed distress ink and then using the new MFT Plentiful Petals stamp set from the All Smiles Card Kit I stamped the daisy flowers from the set randomly in yellow ink, stamping off some of the flowers before stamping on my panel. Next I stamped the two fairy images and three of the little bees and colored them using Copic markers then die cut them out.  I laid out my images and then stamped the bee lines and then adhered all of my images, using foam tape for the fairies.  I stamped my sentiment onto a die cut Stitched Sentiment Strips and added that along the bottom right of my card.  As a final touch, I added some Wink of Stella glitter pen to the fairies and bees and some Icicle Stickles glitter to the wings on the fairies.

Skating by to Say.. - (CTD455)

Hello there!  It's time for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge and we have some fun pastel party colors to create with.  For this week's challenge, I made two cards using the sweet Avery Elle stamp set Skating By and the coordinating Skating By dies.
Both cards have the same layouts and supplies, I just switched up the Copic marker coloring on each one.  I started out with a white card base, then added a pretty in pink cardstock panel that I die cut using the Lawn Fawn Outside-In Stitched Rectangle Stackables die.  Next I die cut two rectangle watercolor paper pieces using the same die as my pink panel and watercolored in aqua blue and pink on both.  Once my watercolor pieces were dry, I lined them up in my Misti tool and stamped my sentiment.  After that I stamped two of the skater girl images and the balloons onto white cardstock and colored them using Copic markers then die cut them out using the coordinating dies.  I adhered my rectangle watercolored panels with foam tape and also adhered my images with foam tape other than the third balloon on my first card.  I added three iridescent sequins on each card and used my Wink of Stella glitter pen to added glitter to the bow, dress, socks and skates on both images.  These cards were so fun to make, I love how girly they are with the pinks, purple and aqua colors from this week's CTD challenge.

Smile - (CTD454)

Hello!  It's time for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge #454!  Before I get to my card, I'd like to welcome this month's Color Throwdown Guest Designer, Sheri Gilson.
I recently ordered and received the new My Favorite Things All Smiles Card Kit and I was excited to ink it up and create a card using it.  So I used this week's CTD colors along with the color black as a neutral and created my first All Smiles card.  I used a white card base, then a panel of kraft cardstock with a strip of simply chartreuse along the bottom.  Next I die cut a black frame using the Single Stitched Line Rectangle Frames and die cut two Smiles one in black and one in white and glued them together slightly off so that the black would act as a shadow.  After that, I used white embossing powder and heat embossed my three main flowers on kraft cardstock then stamped the centers in black ink.  I stamped the leaves in black ink and did some line work on them using a white gel pen and also added some white pen detail on the centers of the flowers.  I stamped and die cut two green flowers and stamped the centers black and added all of my flowers and leaves to my card front, popping up the largest flower with foam tape, and then glued on my die cut Smile.  I stamped the other half of my sentiment inside the card.  Now that I look at this card I think I'll go back and add a few black rhinestones or enamel dots.
