Wishing You Sunny Days

Hello there!  I'm dropping in today to share a card that I made for the My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge #321.

 

I used the MFT stamp set Adorable Elephants and Adorable Elephants Die-namics to create my card along with the stamp set Fall Friends for my sentiment.  I started out with a white card base which I blended on some tumbled glass ink across the top, then added a die cut sun in the top corner.  Next I die cut some clouds using the Lawn Fawn Puffy Clouds Borders and added a yellow scalloped circle with my white cardstock circle which I blended on more tumbled glass ink and a green hillside. I stamped and die cut my images and then colored them with Copic markers.  I then adhered them to my die cut circle, popping up the little elephant.  I used a piece of MFT Dots & Stripes Sorbet designer paper along the bottom, added a strip of yellow cardstock and my die cut Stitched Sentiment strip.  To finish off my card, I tied on some black and white bakers twine and added some wink of stella glitter to the sun and butterflies.

Petite Pots - (CTD431)

Hello there!  It's time for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge!

 For my card, I used the Papertrey Ink anniversary stamp set, Petite Pots to create a birthday card.  I used a white card base, then added a piece of royal velvet designer paper and on top of that a piece of white cardstock which I blended on some moss green ink where my pots would be.  Next I stamped my sentiment and die cut and stamped my pots, flowers and bird.  I used honey nut ink for the pots, new leaf for the stems and winter wisteria, royal velvet, pale plum and so saffron for the flowers.  I stamped the bird in so saffron and barley banana ink.  I adhered all of my stamped and die cut pieces to my card, popping up the one potted flower and the bird and tied on some purple bakers twine to finish off my card.

With Gratitude - (CTD430)

Hello there!  Are you ready for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge?  I hope so because we have another great color palette to play with.

For my card, I used the Papertrey Ink stamp set Spring Woods along with the Winter Woods: Cover Plate to create a thank you card.  I don't know about you but I'm ready for spring.  To create my card, I die cut a piece of chocolate chip cardstock using the Winter Woods cover plate, then used some ocean tides ink and blended it onto a piece of white cardstock cut the size of my brown Winter Woods die cut piece and glued it to the back.  Next I die cut and stamped my bird and branches and stamped my sentiment onto a white banner.  I used ocean tides, spring moss, kraft, chocolate chip and hawaiian shores ink.  I ended up cutting one of the flowering branches apart and used the pieces along the bottom of my card tucking the ends of the branches under the edge of the brown die cut Winter Woods piece.  After adhering everything down, I added my bird with foam tape and used a wink of stella glitter pen on the center of the flowers. You Are Loved - Where Creativity Meets C9

Hi there!  It's time for this month's Where Creativity Meets C9 Challenge!  Our theme for this month is totally appropriate for February, it's Love.  So if you're looking for a fun challenge, grab your Concord & 9th stamps and play along.

 For my card, I used the Concord & 9th stamp set, You Are Enough and did some watercoloring.  This stamp set works beautifully with watercolor in my opinion.  The loopy flower that comes in this set looks great stamped with solid petals as well but watercoloring it is my favorite.  So I stamped the long stem flower and two piece sentiment in black palette ink on watercolor paper and used my watercolors to add color.  I had trimmed down my watercolor paper so that I could add a strip of pink passion (SU) cardstock down the side.  To finish off my card, I added some iridescent sequins and some gold Stickles to the center of the flower.

Mugs and Kisses - (CTD428)

Happy February 1st!  I'm hostess for this week over at the Color Throwdown Challenge and the color palette I chose is red, pink and chocolate brown.  Hopefully these colors inspire you to create something with love or Valentine's in mind or something with a warm and cozy feel to it. Before I get to my card, I'd like to welcome this month's Color Throwdown guest designer, Donna Mikasa!

For my card, I used the My Favorite Things stamp set, Hug in a Mug along with the coordinating Hot Cocoa Cups Die-namics.  I started out with a white card base, then used a stitched rectangle die to die cut some red striped designer paper and added a horizontal strip of chocolate brown cardstock with a white scalloped edge.  Next I added with foam tape a white die cut circle with a red mat and my stamped sentiment banner.  After that I die cut my fun cocoa cups and glued all of the pieces together and added them to my die cut circle.  These Hot Cocoa Cups are so fun and I've seen so many cute cards and projects created with them I just had to have them.
