Best Fishes

Hi there!  It's time for this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.
I've got a simple fishy birthday card using this week's sketch.  I used the Lawn Fawn stamp set, Fintastic Friends along with the coordinating dies and the Lawn Fawn set, Argyle Backdrops for my background.  I started out with a black card base, then added my argyle stamped hawaiian shores piece and die cut circle from summer sun.  Then I stamped my sentiment onto a strip of limeade ice and added my stamped, die cut and Copic colored fish bowl and food.
Below are a few pictures of some fall goodie bags I put together to take up to my daughter's college and give to her and her friends.  There was a sale at Bath & Body Works on the pocket antibacterial gels so I picked up a few of those, then stopped at Target and found the matching tissues in the dollar spot (love Target!).  I added some packs of cinnamon gum and some autumn Hersey kisses.  I stamped and die cut the cute owl from the Lawn Fawn stamp set You're a Hoot.  Then I die cut white tags, added some washi tape along the bottom, stamped my sentiment and popped up the orange owl then tied up my goodie bags with ribbon.  Easy peasy fun fall goodies!

Happy Harvest

Good morning!  Are you ready for this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge?  I hope so, it's a great sketch designed by our Sweet Sunday Sketch team member, Vicki.
I've got two cards to share today, my first card is for this week's SSSC but I'm entering both the cards I'm sharing in the Lawnscaping Challenge #113 and in the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge.
I've had so much fun creating with the new Lawn Fawn stamp set Happy Harvest!  Last Sunday I shared my first card that I created using this set (you can click here to view that post) and today I'm posting the other two cards in the collection.  Each card has die cut, stamped and Copic colored images (isn't this scarecrow too cute?) along with embossed backgrounds for texture.  For the first card, I used the Lawn Fawn die, Stitched Hillside Borders and die cut three sections from a square of summer sun cardstock, once the sections were cut, I embossed two pieces with polka dots and two with a herringbone pattern then taped them altogether.  On both the circle and the rectangle focal piece on the both cards, I stamped the corn stalk from the set in so saffron and sponged the sky with tumbled glass distress ink.  On all the cards, I created a plaid shirt on the scarecrows using various shades of Copic marker to add some extra detail.
On this bottom card, I added a panel of embossed chocolate chip cardstock which I sponged with ink to highlight the embossing.  I used a piece of hawaiian shores cardstock to stamp my sentiment and used the Stitched Hillside Borders die again to create my ground floor.

I also used a white gel pen to add highlights to the cheeks of the scarecrow and crows and a glaze pen for the eyes and buttons on the overalls.
Below is a shot of all three cards in the collection.

Thanks for stopping by and have a happy day!

Hello there

Hi there, crafty friends!  I'm popping in today to share a clean and simple card that I created last week using the Papertrey Ink stamp sets Morning by Morning and Scripted.
I used a white card base, then added a panel of royal velvet cardstock, on top of that is my stamped panel with sentiment and stamped, die cut and popped up morning glories.  I used the colors royal velvet and lavender lace for the flowers and simply chartreuse for the stems.

Have a wonderful day!

Sending Hugs from home

Hello!  Today was my youngest son's first day back to school and although I missed him and hoped he was having a great first day back, it was nice to get my errands run without worrying about him.

I was inspired by two challenges for the card I have today, the first is the Retro Sketches Challenge #180  and the second is the Just Add Ink Challenge #278.

For my card, I used the Papertrey Ink stamp sets Big Hugs, Bloomers and Delightful Dahlia Additions for the leaves.  I die cut the "Hugs" in royal velvet three times and glued them together for some added dimension to the word and stamped the sending and from home in the same color ink.  I started out with a white card base and stamped the largest flower in pumpkin ink with the centers in only orange and real rust.  Then I stamped the two side flowers

You're A-MAIZE-ING

Hi there!  It's time for this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge!
The card I have for today totally puts me in the mood for fall.  I love fall with the crisp cool sweater weather, trips to the cider mill, pumpkin patch and so much more.  It's my favorite season!

For my card, I used the fun new Lawn Fawn stamp set, Happy Harvest along with the coordinating dies.  I used my Copic markers to color the die cut and stamped scarecrow, pumpkins and crows and you'll notice I gave my scarecrow a plaid shirt by first coloring in a light beige (E30) and letting it dry and then using three different color Copic markers (R29, R05, YR16) to create the plaid and adding shading with (E34).  I stamped the die cut two cornstalks with so saffron and for the cornstalks in the background, I did a little rock in roll technique with so saffron and more mustard.  The kraft colored hill was die cut using the Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Borders die and the sky was sponged using tumbled glass distress ink.  The scarecrow and flying crow were popped up using foam tape and I added white highlights to the cheeks and a Glaze pen on all the eyes.  The card base is enchanted evening and the designer paper is from a fall Doodlebug Designs pack.  This was such a fun card to create, I can't wait to make more.

Thanks for popping in!
