Hello There - {SSSC262}

It's time for this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.
For my card I used the Papertrey Ink stamp sets Rosie Posie, Rosie Posie Step Two and the new Noted along with the coordinating Hello die.  For the roses, I used the ink color Royal Velvet and stamped off for the solid roses and then went full color for the step two.  I wanted a darker colored roses so that my Hello would pop.  I stamped the chevron in Limeade Ice and the leaves in Simply Chartreuse. I wanted to be able to see the stamped chevron within my circle so instead of a solid die cut circle, I used my circle dies to create just a frame.  For the Hello, I die cut four of them in raspberry fizz and glued them together to give them a thickness and make the word stand out and the There underneath the Hello was stamped in Royal Velvet to coordinate with the roses.
Thanks for stopping by and be sure to pop over to the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge blog to see what the other designers have created and to play along.

Think Spring - {C4C279}

 Hello there!  Anja has another fun challenge for us this week over at the Crazy-4-Challenges site, it's Think SPRING!  We hope you'll take the time to play along with us.

For my card I used the Papertrey Ink stamp sets Garden Grace for the flowers and Mini Blooms for the sentiment.  I went with cheerful colors and used summer sun for the polka dot embossed background and summer sun and only orange for the flowers.  To add a little sparkle, I added some yellow Stickles to the flowers and some yellow gems around them.

Make a Wish - {TYIC#18}

Hi there!  It's time for the Tag You're It! Challenge #18 and our inspiration is the gorgeous card with tag below by design team member Nancy Penir.
The inspiration I took from Nancy's card where her pretty colors and kraft colored tag.  I used the Papertrey Ink stamp set Cupcake Collection to create a birthday tag.  I stamped and heat embossed the Make a Wish in white, then stamped the lower portion of my tag with polka dots using Ombre Builders.  After that I die cut and stamped the layers for my cupcake popping up the top raspberry fizz layer and adding a die cut flower with button.
Be sure to head on over to the Tag You're It! blog to find out how to play along and to see what the rest of the design team has created.

Happy Birthday - {SSSC261}

 Hi there!  I'm jumping in late with my card for this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.  Sorry I've been missing lately, I've been busy working and have had things in my life that needed my attention.
For my card I used the Papertrey Ink stamp sets Beautiful Butterflies, Beautiful Butterflies Layers and Think Big Favorites to create a birthday card.  I used a bunch of bright colors from Limeade Ice, Raspberry Fizz, Hawaiian Shores and an SU color Lavender Lace and stamped most of the butterflies from with in the stamp set.  I chose to die cut and pop the largest center butterfly for some dimension and scattered a few sequins for a touch of sparkle.
Thank you for your visit!

Bring on the Bling - {C4C277}

Hello there!  Anja has a fun challenge for us this week over at the Crazy-4-Challenges site, it's Bring on the BLING!  We hope you'll take the time to play along with us.

I need a birthday card for my niece and thought this challenge would give me an opportunity to create something "blingy" that a teenager would like.  I used the Papertrey Ink stamp sets Wet Paint for my sentiment which I stamped in hawaiian shores onto a PTI die cute bookmark.  Once I stamped my sentiment, I used the PTI set Ombre Builders and stamped the top half of the bookmark using limeade Ice and hawaiian shore.  After that I attached my layered Beautiful Butterfly that I die cut, added three rhinestones on the body and to really bling it up, I added sequins the color of each stamped ombre.  I embossed the background with a PTI impressions plate, ran a line of double sided tape about a half inch down from the top and added glitter.  This card really looks so much better in person, it sparkles with all of the rhinestones, sequins and glitter.

Hello Friend - {SSSC259}

Hello friends!  Have you heard the news?  The Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge has a new home! We hope you'll pop over to take a look at our new site and play along with this week's challenge.

This week's challenge is to create a card using a past Sweet Sunday Sketch.  Once you've created your card, be sure to link it up to our new site.
For my card, I used last week's sketch #258 which I loved (something about the large middle circle gives so many possibilities).  I also used another new Papertrey Ink stamp set, Bitty Bouquets.  The font for the sentiments in this set along with the different flowers makes it a must have, so pretty.  I started out with a white card base, then an embossed panel of raspberry fizz, a strip of white cardstock and white banners and a square of bright yellow gingham designer paper.  I stamped my sentiment and added my die cut roses with a little bit of yellow stickles in their centers and tied on some yellow bakers twine to finish it off.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Hugs - {Virginia's View #13}

Hello there!  Today I've got a card that I created for the Virginia's View Challenge #13 which is All Things Embossed.
I started out with a white card base and then used a piece of watercolor paper and the Papertrey Ink stamp set Beautiful Butterflies to heat emboss with white embossing powder.  Once the butterflies were embossed I used the Beautiful Butterflies Layers and stamped and embossed on top of the white with iridescent embossing powder (this looks so much better in real life).  After all the embossing was done I watercolored my panel then added my layered die cut Hugs, banner and sequins.

Spring - {SSSC258}

Happy first day of March!  I'm ready for spring, how about you?  Today I'm sharing a card that I created using this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge, some new Papertrey Ink goodies and a spring inspired theme.
For my card I used the new PTI Make-it-Market Mini: Lovely Laurels set.  I couldn't wait to get my hands on this set, its a beautiful combination of stamps, dies and papers with a small envelope of the sweetest little flowers and leaves you can use as accents.  The die is unique in that it doesn't die cut the laurel completely out, just enough to add a few small pieces of foam tape underneath to add dimension. To me this set called to my traditional romantic victorian heart and I knew I needed to have it.  I found inspiration for my colors in the photo below with the yellows and the cool greens.  I used ocean tides (PTI) and daffodil delight (SU).
 Be sure to check out what each of the Sweet Sunday Stampers has created using this week's sketch:

Have a wonderful day!
