Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween!  Today's card is a shaker card I made for my little guy to go along with a special treat I bought him.  I used the fun Lawn Fawn stamp set Spooktacular along with the coordinating dies.  For the inside of the shaker I stamped my sentiment, candy and some stars, then added three die cut and colored candy corn and some sequins for the loose shakers bits.  Once I had my shaker put together, I added my die cut and colored pumpkin on top of the acetate and added some yellow stickles to the eyes and mouth.  Some punched out stars and some black rhinestones helped to add a little bit of detail around the frame of the shaker and help to finish it off.  I'm entering this card over at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge which is Anything Goes.
 Below are three of the thirty Halloween treat bags I put together for my son's class party today.  I used the same Lawn Fawn stamp set Spooktacular and tried to keep them simple since I was stamping so many.

Hope you have a fun and safe Halloween!

Cups and Succulents

Hi there!  I'm popping in today with a trio of cards that I created using the fun Simon Says Stamp set Cups and Succulents.  I've loved succulent pants ever since I was a kid and saw how my grandma would grow chicks and hens in her garden.  I not only have different types of succulent plants growing outside in my own garden but also inside my house in McCoy pottery that I collect.  Succulents are easy to grow and have such wonderful texture and colors.  If you're interested in taking a look, I've created a succulent Pinterest board which you can see here.
I used the Retro Sketches Challenge #138 for each card, but rotated the layout for each one.  I colored each image using Copic markers and used sentiments from the Hero Arts stamp set Everyday Sayings.  This was also a good way to use up some of my scraps of designer paper and card stock since I used smaller pieces on each card.  I'm entering these cards over at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge which is to use the color kraft on your card or project.
This is just one of the many succulent planters I have in my home.

 Have a great day!

Painted Flowers - {SSSC242}

Good morning, hope you're having a nice weekend!  It's Sunday which means it's time for this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.
I used this week's sketch to create two clean and simple birthday cards using a new stamp set I recently purchased, Painted Flowers from Altenew.  I've seen so many card makers using this set to create beautiful card and since I'm such a flower lover, I knew I had to have it.  I'm also entering these cards in the Simon Says Stamps Wednesday Challenge which is to incorporate the color kraft into your project.
Supplies: Painted Flower Altenew, Wet Paint PTI, Buttons, twine, Foam tape.  Colors: New Leaf, Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores, kraft (top card). Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze, Simply Chartreuse, Old Olive, kraft (bottom card).

Sparkle & Shine: Holiday Additions - {PTIBlog Hop}

Hello everyone!  Today is the Papertrey Ink October Blog Hop.  The challenge for this month was to choose one or more of the PTI Color Recipes provided by Papertrey Ink and create a card or project using those colors.
I decided to break out the new PTI Sparkle & Shine: Holiday Additions stamp set and coordinating dies to create a shaker Christmas card using the color recipe below.  This is a fun stamp set that offers so many possibilities of mixing and matching.
For my card I started out with a new leaf card base, then added a panel of pure poppy with a piece of striped designer paper from the PTI Sparkle & Shine collection.  I stamped the inside of my shaker with a combo of all the colors from the recipe, added a mix of sequins and then die cut and layered the Sparkle in pure poppy and raspberry fizz to give a pop.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the hop!

Thanks You're the Best - {TYIC#9}

Hello friends!  Today is my birthday and I'm here to share a fun little tag for the Tag You're It Challenge #9.  Our inspiration for today comes from fellow team member Leigh and her pretty pair of thank you tags.
I loved the way Leigh used her die cut thanks on a diagonal across her tags with one half solid color and the other patterned.  I decided to use the Lawn Fawn thanks die cut and attempt to do the same on my tag.  I die cut two tags, one in summer sun and another in white, then die cut my thanks in a rust color.  I used the Lawn Fawn stamp set Argyle Backdrops for the bottom half of my tag and stamped two birds from the Chit Chat stamp set and a few clouds from the Hello Sunshine set.

Thanks for popping in and I hope you'll take the time to play along with the Tag You're It Challenge!

Halloweenies - {The Challenge #17}

 Hi there crafty friends!  Today I'm sharing the card I created for The Challenge #17.  Lesley's got a fun color combo and sketch to create with and we hope you'll give one or both a try.
For my card, I used the sketch and most of the colors from The Challenge along with the fun Paper Smooches stamp set Halloweenies.  I started out with a black card base, then added an embossed lovely lilac panel with a strip of Doodlebug designer paper down the middle.  I stamped and colored the witch with Copic markers and paper pieced her dress and hat, then fussy cut the image out and popped her up with foam tape.  To add some fun I used Glossy Accents and added some to the witches eyes, a little bit of liquid glue and glitter to her lips and a few black rhinestones around the image.

Autumn Blessings - {TYIC#8}

Hi there friends!  It's time for the Tag You're It! Challenge #8.  Our inspiration for today's challenge is the talented Lisa Arana's beautiful card.
The inspiration I drew from Lisa's card, was her pretty fall acorns and leaves that pop against the subtle background of her tag and card.  For my card I used the Papertrey Ink stamp set Autumn Acorns along with a PTI tag die and used it to dress up a simple brown paper bag with goodies inside.
Thank you so much for your visit and I hope you'll take the time to play along with the Tag You're It! Challenge.

With Sympathy - {The Challenge #16}

Hello everyone!  I've got some exciting news to share today.  I was asked by the talented Lesley Croghan to join The Challenge design team and happily excepted.  I'm looking forward to working with Lesley and the rest of The Challenge team.  I really like the concept of The Challenge, because you can design a card using just the sketch or challenge colors or both.
 For my card, I used both the sketch and colors from The Challenge #16 to create a sympathy card.  I used the Papertrey Ink stamp set Rosie Posie along with Think Big Favorites #3 for my sentiment.  I started out with a black card base, added a panel of white and an embossed panel of Going Gray.  To add a little softness around my sentiment circle I used the PTI Rustic Wreath die with velum.

Autumn Acorns - {SSSC#239/CQC#261}

Good morning!  It's time for this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.  Karen has another excellent sketch for all of us to create with and we hope you'll find the time to play along.
For my card I used not only this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch but, the colors from this week's Colour Queen Challenge #261.  I used the Papertrey Ink stamp set Autumn Acorns to create a fall thinking of you card.  I started with a card base of chocolate chip cardstock, then added a woodgrain embossed panel of taken with teal.  On top of that I added my main panel which has some leaves stamped directly onto the cream cardstock and others die cut and stamped with two leaves popped up with foam tape.  After stamping the acorns with chocolate chip and taken with teal ink, I decided to add glitter to the bottom portions of the acorns to give them a pop (no I've never seen teal acorns but what the heck).
