CTD#216 - Chair-ished Friendship

Happy Halloween!!!  This month has come and gone so fast I can hardly believe it, before you know it it'll be Christmas (55 days, but who's counting right?).  Today is Wednesday and you know what that means, it's time for the Color Throwdown Challenge!  Our hostess for this week's challenge is the talented Kerri who has chosen a bold color combo for us to create with along with a fantastic inspiration photo.
After looking at the inspiration photo with its cool zebra rug, navy paint and trim and high backed chairs I decided to go with the Papertrey Ink stamp set On My Couch.  I started out with a crumb cake card base, added a vertical strip of base black and then two banners of designer paper.  I die-cut a PTI tag and ran it through my Big Shot with the Simple Stripes Impressions plate, then stamped my sentiment and added my paper pieced chairs which I colored with Copic markers to give some depth.  For finishing touches I added some orange ribbon, button and twine along with three black rhinestones in the lower right corner.
Be sure to check out what the other design team members have come up with for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge!

PTI October Blog Hop

Hello and welcome!  Today is the Papertrey Ink October Blog Hop.  This month's blog hop challenge has to do with using non-traditional colors to create a holiday card or project.  Several color combinations and inspiration photos were given but I chose the photo and colors below to create my card.
I kept my card CAS and after looking at the inspiration photo above I knew I wanted to try and do something with circles. I searched through my PTI sets and found two sets that had circles I could stamp along with a snowflake image from the Tremendous Treats Christmas set.  I stamped my circles, then the snowflakes and added glitter to them then used a marker to create a frame around my white panel.  Next I stamped my sentiment and added my die-cut "holiday" and then tied on some bakers twine.  The white and turquoise panels where then popped up using foam tape and attached to the pink card base.
Supplies: Wonderful Words Holiday + dies, Hello Sunshine (large stamped circle), Daydreamer (small stamped circle), Tremendous Treats Christmas (snowflake), Glitter, Bakers twine, Marker, Foam tape.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the hop!

CTD215/DS74 - Ghostly Greetings

Hello and welcome!  It's time for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge!  Our hostess this week is Lori who chose some fun colors for us to create with along with an adorable inspiration photo.
For my card I used the Papertrey Ink stamp set Happy Haunting with the coordinating ghost die and for my layout I used the Deconstructed Sketch Challenge #74.  I ended up turning my oval length wise which is different from the sketch challenge but it worked better for my ghost.  If you look at the close up photo below, you can see how I added some shadow and colored the eyes on the ghost using Copic markers and then added some glossy accent to make the eyes pop.
Supplies: Happy Haunting + die, PTI Halloween dp, Nestie oval dies, Copic markers, Glossy Accent, Ribbon, Embossing folder, Button, Bakers twine, Chevron border die, Foam tape.

SSSC170 - Hey Girlie!

It's time for the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #170.  Karen has another great sketch for all of us to create with and we hope you'll play along.
I haven't stamped with a Stamping Bella stamp in quite a while but after seeing my fellow team mate Dana and the cute cards she's created using the Stamping Bella Uptown Girls line I couldn't resist.  This image is so fun and whimsical and gave me an excuse to color with my Copic markers and add a little glitter.  In order for me to stick with the sketch, I die cut only a section of this image (their long legs with high heels are too cute but wouldn't fit) and instead of two banner flags like on the sketch I opted for one banner and a leaf ;)
Supplies: Uptown Girls Pattie & Dottie Friends Forever - Stamping Bella, Copic markers, My Mind's Eye dp, Nestie dies, Prima flower, Button, Glitter, Bakers twine, Banner die & leaf die - PTI, Foam tape.

CTD214/MOJO263 - Sunshine

Hello there!  Hope you're doing well.  The Color Throwdown team has got another challenge today and we hope you'll play along!  Our hostess for this week's challenge is Joan who chose some cheerful colors for us to create with.
For my card I used the Papertrey Ink stamp sets Hello Sunshine and Little Bitty Bird and for my layout I used the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge #263.  As you can see by my card I only used a splash of the brilliant blue color from the challenge, I knew I wanted to use the hello sunshine set and use yellow as one of my main colors then I wondered how I'd add the blue...little bitty bird to the rescue.
Supplies: Hello Sunshine, Little Bitty Bird + die, Mat Stack die, Cloud die, Scallop border die, Circle punch, Circle Nestie die, MME designer paper, Button, Aqua brush, Foam tape.

Be sure to check out what the other design team members have come up with for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge!

CTD213/SSC80 - Birthday Butterfly

It's time for the Color Throwdown Challenge #213 (CTD213).  Our hostess for this week is the talented Broni and she's chosen some fabulous colors along with a beautiful inspiration photo.

For my card there's not a whole lot of stamping going on, I used the Papertrey Ink stamp set Think Big Favorites #12 for my sentiment and layered two PTI butterfly die cuts with a button for my focal image.  I used the Sketchbook Saturday Challenge #80 for my layout.  I wasn't sure whether I would like my sentiment on the top portion of my card because I'm used to stamping it toward the bottom or within a shape with my image but I actually really like it.
Supplies: Beautiful Butterflies dies, Think Big Favorites #12, Simple Stripes Impressions Plate, Scallop border die, Circle Nesties, Ribbon, Button, Rhinestones, Foam tape.

So honored

Hi there friends!  I'm not trying to toot my own horn by this post, but when I woke up this morning and saw that I was chosen as the Featured Stamper for this week over at the Splitcoast Stampers site I couldn't believe it.  Being the Featured Stamper means that members of Splitcoast Stampers can choose a card from your gallery as inspiration for a card that they create.  It's such an honor to be chosen by your peers and to have your gallery with all of your work highlighted, it truly means a lot to me.  The thought of any of my cards inspiring someone to create is so flattering.  I'll be smiling all week long and I look forward to seeing the cards that are created.

Thank you!

SSSC168/SSSC169 - Christmas Snowman

Hello there!  It's time for the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge and since I missed the challenge from two week's ago I've got a card for that as well.
For this first card I used the SSSC from two week's ago and kept it clean and simple with a little bit of detail on the snowman with his scarf and hat.  Both the cards I have for today use most of the same supplies. I used the Papertrey Ink Shape Up Snowman die & stamp set, Wonderful Words Holiday & word dies and My Mind's Eye 12 Days of Christmas designer paper.

CTD212 - Wonderful Friend/With Sympathy

Hello there!  It's time for another Color Throwdown Challenge!  Our hostess for this week is the talented Barbara who has chosen some really pretty rich colors which are perfect for this time of year.
I created two cards for this challenge since I haven't been posting here on my blog a lot lately.  I've been busy getting some things done around the house now that my kids are in school all day and I've been job searching.  For my first card I used the Papertrey Ink stamp sets Wreath for all Seasons, Bitty Bird and Think Big Favorites #12.  This is a clean looking card (not too much detail) but I wish you could see the wreath in person because I took a red glitter pen and glaze pen and dotted over almost all of the stamped berries on the wreath to give a little sparkle and shine.

For my next card I needed another sympathy card for a customer so I thought the rich colors for the challenge would work nicely.  It's fun how you can get such a different look by using all the same colors as my first card, but using one color more, like the "more" mustard on this second card.  On this card I used the PTI stamp sets Think Big Favorite #12 for the sentiment and the Houndstooth Basic Background set for the bottom portion.
Be sure to check out what the other design team members have come up with for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge!
