Strawberry Patch

Happy Saturday Peeps!  I'm off today to do a little stamping with some friends and let me tell ya I've been really looking forward to it.  Linda is hosting our get together today and she thought it would be fun if each of us would come up with a card that all of us could make.  Since I recently received the new PTI Strawberry Patch and Strawberry Patch Sentiments stamp set I thought I'd use those to create my card.  These are really "sweet" stamp sets that I could see using quite a bit.
Supplies: Strawberry Patch & Dies, Strawberry Patch Sentiments, October Afternoon dp, Doily, Rick-rack, Button, Scallop border punch, Foam tape.

Have a great weekend!

PTI April Blog Hop

Hello friends, thanks for stopping by!
This is my second post for today, so if you're looking for my Color Throwdown post please scan down.  The card I'm sharing today is for the Papertrey Ink April Blog Hop, the inspiration for this month's hop is the photo below.  The fabrics in the inspiration photo are beautiful and even though they look new, I ended up thinking vintage for my card.  I needed a Mother's Day card for one of the card orders I'm working on and so the PTI blog hop gave me the inspiration I needed.
Supplies: Tea for Two, Teapot die, Doily Details die, Mat Stack die, Banner die, Ribbon, MFT Rolled Rose die, Scallop border die, Pearl, Foam tape.

Enjoy hopping along and seeing all of the pretty cards!

CTD189 - Sending You

Today's Wednesday and time for the Color Throwdown Challenge.
Kristin is our hostess this week and she's chosen some bold colors for us to create with.
For some reason as much as I really like this color combo I was struggling to create a card using it.  I searched my whole stash of designer papers looking for a print with at least three of the colors in it and finally settled on the one you see here.  I'm not sure whether I'm loving it or not, but it is what it is.  I used the Papertrey Ink stamp set Sending You along with a PTI flower die.
Supplies: Sending You, Sending You dies, Beautiful Blooms flower die, This & That Echo Park designer paper, TE scallop border die, Ribbon, Button.
Be sure to check out what the other design team members have come up with for this week's Color Throwdown challenge!

SSSC157 - Sunflower Birthday

It's time for the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge!
Karen has another great sketch for all of us to create with for the next two weeks, she knows exactly how much all of us Sweet Sunday Stampers love a good tilted panel when it comes to making cards, lol.  All kidding aside, even though a tilted panel is a bit of a struggle, that's what a challenge is all about...trying something you might not normally do.  So even though I fought to straighten out my main panel and tape it down, I didn't!  I did however find myself tilting my camera while taking pictures for some reason lol.
For my card I used the Papertrey Ink stamp sets Simple Sunflower and Think Big Favorites #12.  I started out with a chocolate chip card base, added a white panel and then an embossed panel of designer paper.  I stamped my happy birthday sentiment and sunflowers and added the single die cut sunflower using foam tape.  My card felt a little off balanced so I added the large brown button on the left above the banners to off set it a bit.

DS47 - A Little Bird Told Me...

Hello peeps and happy Thursday!
Today I'm sharing a birthday card that I created for a card order I've been working on.
I love a good sketch to give me a starting point when it comes to creating a card so I used the Deconstructed Sketch #47 for my layout and turned it on it's side.  Another great source of inspiration for me other than surfing the many talented bloggers out there on the web is Pinterest (a virtual cork board for things you like).  One of pin boards I have on Pinterest is a board just for things that give me ideas for stamping things like photos, posters, ad work, different print work and more.  When I saw THIS fun print created by Suzanne Carpenter, I knew just which stamps I could use to try and recreate this cute scene.
For my card I used the Papertrey Ink stamp sets Tea for Two Additions plus the teacup die, Little Bitty Bird and die and Little Bitty Bird Additions.  I die cut and stamped all three of the teacups and the bird (like how he covers the hole in the top of the tag?) and added foam tape to just the bottom two teacups as I stacked them together.  I added a little detail to each of the teacups with punched pieces and buttons to add some fun, I think this card has a bit of a folkart-sy look to it with the colors and layout.
Usually I don't photograph the insides of my cards because to be honest even though I always end up stamping the inside and the envelope there's usually not that much to look at.  But today I thought why not (yes that's a roll of sewing pins holding my card in place, lol).
Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day!

CTD188 - Birthday Flowers

Hello and Happy Wednesday!  It's time for the Color Throwdown Challenge.  Our hostess for this week is Kerri who chose these pretty colors and floral inspiration photo.
For my card I used the Papertrey Ink stamp sets Flower Fusion #1 with the flower die and Tremendous Treats Birthday for the sentiment.  I've also used the PTI picket fence die and wood grain impressions plate along with some SU designer paper, scallop border punch and ribbon.

CTD187 - Little Bitty Bird

It's time for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge!
Joan is our hostess for this week and she's chosen some lovely colors and a great inspiration photo to get our creative mojo going.
For my card I used the Papertrey Ink stamp set Little Bitty Bird Additions along with the coordinating bird dies.  I started out with a chocolate chip card base, then for the top portion of my card I used a piece of lavender lace that I embossed using the perfect polka dots embossing folder.  For the bottom half of my card I used some SU designer paper and for the center I die cut a piece of white cardstock using the SU Top Note die and cut it in half and trimmed it down so that I could use it as a border for my image.  After stamping and coloring my image I added some small rhinestones to the centers of all the flowers along the bottom of the picket fence and popped up my bird images using foam tape.

SSSC156 - Happy Birthday Day

Hello there and Happy Easter!
It's time for the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.
A few weeks ago I created this card using the layout below and Karen had emailed me after to ask if we could use it as today's Sweet Sunday Sketch.  So I hope you like the sketch and I hope you'll join in and create a card or project using it.  I can't wait to see what everyone creates!
For my card today I used the Papertrey Ink stamp set Happy Day along with the coordinating die, banner die, Taylor Expressions scallop border die and My Favorite Things rolled roses die.  The designer paper is My Mind's Eye and the colors I used are basic gray, crumb cake, taken with teal, cherry cobbler and daffodil delight.  The vertical banners on my card measure an inch wide and four and a quarter long.
To play along create a card using Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch, then go to Karen’s blog The Sweetest Thing and link your card so we can all see your creation!

Boston Terrier Love

Hello friends!  Today I've got a card and some pictures to share.  The card that I have is a thank you card that I created and sent last week for my friend Wanda Guess who is an extremely talented card maker, photographer and blogger.  A few weeks ago I received a package in the mail and inside was the pretty card you see below and a cute Boston Terrier rubber stamp.  I was smiling from ear to ear when I saw what was inside, Wanda's surprise made my day!  Wanda knows that this last January, as my Christmas gift from my husband I received a Boston Terrier puppy and named her Molly.
Below is a picture of Molly the day after she was born.
This next picture was taken on the day I brought her home.  Every time she took a drink from her water dish her back legs would tip off the ground and she'd go head first into her dish.
This is the most resent picture of Molly, she loves to sunbath in front of the windows.  She's a really sweet dog, very loving, playful and wants to be near you all the time.  She's one of the best Christmas gifts I've ever received.

Thanks for popping in!

EDIT:  I've had several people ask where the Boston Terrier stamp came from that Wanda purchased, so here is the link: http://www.paper-source.com/cgi-bin/paper/item/Archie-the-Dog-Rubber-Stamp/2901.010/871510.html

CTD186 - Hello There

It's Wednesday and time for the Color Throwdown Challenge.
Danielle is our hostess this week and she's chosen some great colors for us to create with.
For my card I went with a clean and simple look and used the Papertrey Ink stamp sets Framed Out #2 and Background Basics: Chevron Stripes.  I've used the My Mind's Eye designer paper from the inspiration photo so many times and love it but I wanted to use the colors for this week's challenge in a bold way.  I decided to use the Chevron Stripes stamp set to create some fun background pattern and a horizontal strip of tempting turquoise with score lines and rhinestones drawing attention to the Framed Out #2 set as my focal point.
