CTD#181 - Blooming Button Bits Hello Friend

Hello and good morning to you!  It's Wednesday and time for the Color Throwdown Challenge #181
It's my turn to play hostess over at the Color Throwdown blog and I've chosen some soft colors and romantic flowers for our inspiration this week.  The inspiration photo below makes me think of spring weddings and the smell of fresh cut roses.  I hope it inspires you to create a card or project using these colors and to join in on our challenge this week.
For my card I used the Papertrey Ink stamp sets Blooming Button Bits and Think Big Favorites #3 to create a clean and simple card.  I used white cardstock for my card base with a woodgrain embossed panel of blushing bride on top.  I stamped my sentiment on a PTI die cut tag and added ribbon, then stamped the three flowers and leaves from the Blooming Button Bits set, cut them out, popped two of the flowers up with foam tape and added buttons with twine.
Be sure to check out what the other design team members have come up with for this week's Color Throwdown challenge!

SSSC#153 - Sweet as Honey

It's time for the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #153!
Yesterday I thought I was doing good by having my card all created, pre-posted and ready to go...until late last night when I realized I had done the wrong sketch.  The card that I had created was for the March 11th sketch, soooo I'm ahead and behind.  I needed to whip up another card for today and since I had the Papertrey Ink stamp set Honey Bees still out on my desk that's what I used.

I took a little liberty with Karen's wonderful sketch and instead of the circle shape I die cut the small jar from the Friendship Jar Summer Fillers.  I'm also entering this card in for this last week's Papertrey Ink Make-it-Monday Challenge #54 which was to create and use glitter buttons which was very fun (love buttons).
Supplies: Honey Bees, Friendship Jar Summer Fillers + die, Tiny Tags, Doily Details die, October Afternoon dp, Ribbon, Tag punch, Scallop border punch, Buttons, Stickles, Foam tape.

To play along create a card using Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch, then go to Karen’s blog The Sweetest Thing and link your card so we can all see your creation!

Papertrey Ink February Blog Hop - Honey Bees

Hello friends!  PTI's February Blog Hop is all about interactive cards and the first type of interactive card that popped into my head was the tried and true waterfall card.  I've done so many of these waterfall cards in the past and they're always fun to create.  When you pull the ribbon, each stamped panel waterfalls or flips up revealing the next in line (see photos below).

For my card I used the Papertrey Ink stamp set Honey Bees along with some October Afternoon designer paper, brads and a few glitter buttons from this last weeks Make-it-Monday tutorial from PTI design team member Ashley Newell.
I'll be back tomorrow to share my Sweet Sunday Sketch card!
Thanks for stopping by!

TSG - I Miss Your MUG

TGIF everyone!  Today I'm sadden to say that I'm posting my last official card as a There She Goes design team member.  I've enjoyed being part of the There She Goes team for the last six months, but recently my kids have taken on more activities through school and sports and as a mom I need to be there for them.  I'd like to say thank you to Jessica for giving me the opportunity to work with her fantastic rubber stamp company, wonderful products and talented design team.

The card I created uses the There She Goes stamp set Perk Up! along with some My Mind's Eye designer paper. For the coffee mug I stamped one of the cute faces from the stamp set and added some fun googlie eyes.
Supplies: Perk Up! - TSG, MME dp, Ribbon, Twine, Circle punch, Brads, Foam tape, Googlie eyes.

CTD#180 - Happy Birthday

Hi there!  It's time for the Color Throwdown Challenge #180!
Lori is our hostess this week and she's chosen some great colors and a cool inspiration photo for all of us to create with.

For my card I went with a CAS (clean and simple) look to create a more masculine card using the Papertrey Ink stamp set Think Big Favorites #12 and Background Basics Houndstooth.  I started out with a basic grey card base, then a panel of white cardstock.  After that I stamped a row of the houndstooth border along the bottom of a piece of bashful blue cardstock and added a strip of barley banana through the center.  I used the Stampin' Up Top Note die to stamp my sentiment on and trimmed it down so only a portion of it would show and added that to the center of my card.  I die cut some My Mind's Eye designer paper using the PTI banner dies and added those along the top and to finish off my card I added some ribbon, punched out stars and buttons with twine.
Be sure to check out what the other design team members have come up with for this week's Color Throwdown challenge!

TSG - Scootin' By to say Hi!

Hi folks, hope all of you are doing well!  Our house is on the mend for the most part since my kids are feeling better and back to school but now the husbands got a bad cold.
Over this last weekend I had a chance to do a little stamping and pulled out the fun There She Goes stamp set Scootin' By to create a card.  I started out by stamping this cute little girl image, then masked the image and stamped the scooter.  Before I started coloring my images with Copic markers I chose some My Mind's Eye designer papers and assembled my card.  I used one of the patterns from the designer paper pack to piece the little girls dress (tip: adding Copic coloring on your paper piecing adds dimension, see close up photo below) and colored the remainder of the image.  To finish off my card I added a sentiment flag off the back of her scooter, some ribbon and a die cut flower with button and thread.
Have a great day!

On a personal note, I haven't been able to post or create all that much lately because over the past several weeks my kids have been sick.  Add a new puppy (pictures to come) to the mix of three sick kids being sick with mono and the flu and me waiting on them and cleaning, there just hasn't been time.
I can't wait for spring!

It's Wednesday and time for the Color Throwdown!
This week our hostess is Keva who chose some wonderful rich colors along with a beautiful inspiration photo to inspire all of us.
For my card I used the new Papertrey Ink stamp set Simply Jane with the coordinating die.  As soon as I saw this stamp set from Papertrey I knew I had to have it, I'm an avid reader and lover of historical fiction, the Regency and Victorian era as well as Jane Austen books.  I absolutely love anything from the 1700 to the early 1900, the clothing, jewelry and hats were all so beautiful.  I'm also enjoying watching the Masterpiece Theater - Downton Abbey program that's on every Sunday evening.
Supplies: Simply Jane + coordinating dies, Limitless Layers Oval dies, Dearest Jane dp - PTI, Nestie die, Embossing folder, Ribbon, Buttons, Twine, Foam tape.
