SSSC151 - Valentine Hearts

Hello friends, happy Sunday!  It's time for the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge!  Karen has a great sketch for all of us to create with and we hope you'll play along.

For my card I used the Papertrey Ink stamp sets Friendship Jar & Friendship Jar Spring Fillers as well as the set Simple Sentiments.  I'm usually not one for pastel colors unless it's for creating a baby card, but once I started coloring the candy hearts inside the jar image I decided to go with it.
To play along create a card using Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch, then go to Karen’s blog The Sweetest Thing and link your card so we can all see your creation!

Be sure to visit each of the Sweet Sunday Stampers below for more samples using this week’s sketch!

TSG Day 3 - Scootin' By Blog Hop Challenge

Welcome to Day 3 of the There She Goes Sneak Peeks Blog Hop Challenge!
Today is the final day of sneak peeks from the TSG Trendsetter before all of the fun new sets are released this weekend.  The stamp sets featured today are Scootin' By & Scootin' By Accessories.
Cruising on a Sunday afternoon, scootin’ by to say hi! Melyssa Connolly has brought Leah back and she’s ‚born to be wild!. She already comes with lots of fun, but if this isn’t enough she has a kit to accessorize to her hearts content! Whether she’s moving, heading off to school, or enjoying a ride she’ll surely make tracks into your heart.

Scootin’ By is a 4x8 set that includes a total of 15 stamps and will sell for $18.00.
Scootin’ By – Accessories is a 4x4 set that includes a total of 14 stamps and will sell for $10.00.
Well I really had fun with these adorable new stamp sets, I dove in and went with a very girly girl card with purples, pinks and flowers.  Let's face it, what girl wouldn't want to scoot around in a pink Vespa with a basket of flowers on the back.  I started out by stamping the little girl image from the Scootin' By stamp set, then masking her and stamping the scooter.  Then keeping the girl mask in place I stamped the flowers from the Scootin' By Accessories set.  After that I created a mask for the flowers and stamped the basket so that they would look to be sitting inside the basket and behind the little girl.  I colored all of the images using Copic markers and paper pieced the little girls dress (click on close up below for more detail).
Supplies: Scootin' By, Scootin' By Accessories - TSG, Copics, My Mind's Eye dp, Scallop border die, Ribbon, MFT Flower die, Buttons, Twine, Foam tape.

Would you like to win the new Scootin’ by and Scootin’ by Accessories stamp sets? Here is what you need to do- visit the Trendsetter’s blogs that are participating in each of the blog hop challenges below and comment on their creations as you go. One of the Trendsetter’s blogs (from each hop day) will be randomly chosen as the ‘it’ blog and a winner will be picked using a random number generator from the comments left on that Trendsetter’s Blog Hop Challenge post. You will not know which blog has been chosen so the more you comment on the better your chances are of winning new stamps! The Blog Hop Challenges will be open until 5 PM Eastern Time Saturday January 28th with the winner being announced during the release party chat.

CTD#176 - Birthday Wishes

Hello friends!  Before I get to my CTD card today I wanted to apologize for the fact that over the last few days I've been having a problem with my blog.  For some reason when you visit my blog all that shows up right away is my header and left sidebar, the contents of my blog seem to take forever to load and finally appear but they are there.  I've gone over my blog and can't find anything wrong other than the fact that my counter that counts the number of visitor is now missing.  So if you could please bear with me while I try and figure out a way to fix what's going on I would appreciate it, thank you.

On to my card...It's time for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge
Joan is our hostess for this week and she has some pretty colors and a vintage looking photo to inspire all of us.  We hope you'll take the time to play along!
For my card I used the Papertrey Ink stamp set Happy Day along with the coordinating die.  I also used two other PTI dies, the banner die and doily details as well as the MFT rolled rose die.  For the designer paper I used some Fine & Dandy My Mind's Eye.  After putting this card layout together I actually think I like it (I can't always say that).  I wasn't so sure as I was making my card but now that I look at the layout I think I'll use it again.  I've had a thing for banners lately as you can see by a few of my cards this week.
Be sure to check out what the other design team members have come up with for this week's Color Throwdown challenge!

TSG Day 1 - Nursebot Blog Hop Challenge

Hello and welcome to Day 1 of the There She Goes Sneak Peek Blog Hop Challenge!  Today the Trendsetters on the design team are featuring the new stamp set Nursebot.

No ‚bots‛ set would be complete without Nursebot! Torico has done it again. She warmed your heart last month with Lovebots and this month she’s going to make you feel all better with Nursebot. What a great way to send well wishes then a visit from the Nursebot.

Nursebot is a 4x4 set that includes a total of 11 stamps and will sell for $10.00.

Using the fun new Nursebot stamp set I created two cards both 4 1/4"x 4 1/4".  For the first card I chose the cute ambulance image and coordinating sentiment.
Supplies: Nursebot - TSG, My Mind's Eye dp, Nesties, Copics, Twill, Buttons, Foam tape.
For my second card I used the medicine bottle and funny "Need a chill pill?" sentiment.  This would be a good card to send to someone who's been stressed out or in need of a vacation where you could include a note inside to let them know that you're there for them.
Supplies: Nursebot - TSG, My Mind's Eye dp, Nesties, Copics, Square punch (to create banner ends),Buttons, Twill, Foam tape.

Would you like to win the new Nursebot stamp set? Here is what you need to do- visit the Trendsetter’s blogs that are participating in each of the blog hop challenges below and comment on their creations as you go. CTD174 - Have a sweet day.

It's Wednesday and time for another Color Throwdown Challenge
Broni is our hostess for this week's challenge and she's chosen some pretty colors to snap us out of our after holiday winter dull drum.

For my card I used the Papertrey Ink stamp set Garden Variety with coordinating die along with the PTI picket fence die and wood grain impressions plate.  I started out with a soft suede card base, added a white cardstock panel then my soft sky embossed cardstock and October Afternoon designer paper along with a scallop border.  For the main image I stamped the watering can onto the die cut and added a MFT die cut flower and button as an accent.

TSG - Lovebots

Hello friends!  Today I have a card that I created using the There She Goes stamp set Lovebots.  This is such a sweet set and so much fun to color.  I used tones of greys and pinks for my card and colored the image using Copic markers and then added some Spica glitter pen to all of the hearts for a bit of sparkle.  For the layout I kept it simple with a basic grey card base and strips of pink heart designer paper from my stash.  I added some pink gingham ribbon, a banner for my sentiment and a heart button as an embellishment.
Tomorrow my children finally go back to school after having about a week and a half off for Christmas break.  I'm hoping to get back into my craft studio and get some cards created this week.

CTD#173 - Happy Valentine's Day

Hello and welcome to the first Color Throwdown Challenge of 2012!  The team is starting off this year with a fresh new look to our CTD weekly badge to give even more inspiration in using the challenge colors for each week.  Our hostess for this week is Bar who picked these dramatic colors to start us off for the year.

For my card using this week's colors I used the Papertrey Ink stamp sets Happy Day with the coordinating die and Background Basics Hounds Tooth and kept my card clean and simple.  I started out with a black card base, then added a basic grey panel and a real red panel on top that I had stamped along the bottom using the hounds tooth and embossed along the top using a polka dot embossing folder.  I stamped the Happy Day stamp in real red and stamped the Valentine's in black onto a small banner die and both pieces were added to a oval cut piece of black cardstock using foam tape.  To finish off my card I used the My Favorite Things rose die to create two roses and added pearl centers and added black leaves.

Be sure to check out what the other design team members have come up with for this week's Color Throwdown challenge!
