SSSC74 - Thank U

It's time for this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge SSSC74.  This week's sketch was created by our very own Sweet Sunday Stamper Vicki Burdick and I have to tell you that I love this layout!  The large square in the center of the sketch is great, I could think of so many stamp sets that would work for this layout.  I used the New hostess set Cute by the Inch that will be in the up coming 2010-2011 Stampin' Up Idea Book & Catalog to create this clean and simple card.

Supplies: Cute by the Inch (hostess), Melon Mambo DSP, Square punch, Perfect Polka Dot Impressions Folder, Ribbon, Pinking Hearts border punch, Trio Flower punch, Rhinestone brad.  Colors: Elegant Eggplant, Melon Mambo, Old Olive.

SSSC73 - Because I Care

Good morning!  Today's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge is posted on Karen's blog and the Sweet Sunday Stampers team have put together some fantastic looking card samples for you to see.  The card I created using the sketch uses a new hostess level 1 stamp set from the 2010-2011 Stampin' Up Idea Book & Catalog Because I Care.  It may be difficult to see from this photo but I trimmed the right edge of the card base and added a white Scallop Trim border piece along the edge.  I also added some Dazzling Diamonds to the tips of the hydrangia flower and stamped the border design that comes with this set along the right edge of the card.

Supplies: Because I Care, Vintage Wallpaper Impressions Folder, Ribbon, Nestie, Large Oval punch, Scallop Oval punch, Scallop Trim border punch, Dazzling Diamonds, Aqua brush, Pop dots.  Colors: Elegant Eggplant, Perfect Plum, Pale Plum, Old Olive.

SSSC72 - Artistic Etchings

It's Sunday which means it's time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge!  Today I have two cards that I've created using Karen's fantastic sketch, both of them using the sneak peek stamp set Artistic Etchings from the up coming 2010-2011 Stampin' Up Idea Book & Catalog.  The crown for this card was stamped separate, cut out and pop dotted and I added three gems to the top of it.  The medallion directly under the crown was stamped in Riding Hood Red ink with the other medallions in the row stamped off to appear a lighter shade of Riding Hood Red.

Supplies: Artistic Etchings, Perfect Punches, Vintage Wallpaper Impressions Folder, Ribbon, Pinking Hearts border punch, Wide Oval punch, Small Oval punch, Scallop Oval punch, Gems, Pop dots.  Colors: Basic Black, Riding Hood Red, Kraft, Vanilla.

For this second card I turned the sketch and used the Eiffel Tower stamp from the Artistic Etchings set along with a different color palette and some distressing.

Supplies: Artistic Etchings, Wide Oval punch, Scallop Trim border punch, Scallop Oval punch, Small circle punch, Pearls, Ribbon, Vintage Wallpaper Impressions Folder, Boho Blossoms punch, Brad, Pop dots.  Colors: Elegant Eggplant, Rich Razzleberry, Pale Plum.

Masculine Birthday Card

Good morning!  Today's card was pretty much cased from a card I found in the gallery on Splitcoast Stampers from Claudia, you can see her card here.  I was looking for a masculine card that I could use for my stamp camp last month and I loved the colors and layout Claudia used (thank you Claudia).
Instead of using the wolf from this set I used the deer and created the moon by cutting a Post-it Note circle and brayered color on top of glossy white paper.  Then after removing the circle I stamped the silhouette of the tree and deer, heated to set the black ink and cut it to size.  When brayering on the ink I started with the lightest color ink to the darkest using three colors altogether, So Saffron, More Mustard and Pumpkin Pie.

Supplies: Nature Silhouette, Warmest Regards, Weathered BG, Ribbon, Brads, Glossy Paper, Heat Gun, Brayer, Post-It note, Square Nestie die, Pop dots, Sponge.  Colors: Basic Black, Really Rust, More Mustard, So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie.
