You may want to close your eyes cause there's naked buttons involved! Its crazy because some times after I finish a card and take a picture, add my water mark and load it onto my blog I look at it and can immediately see what I should have done to make it better! Like this card, I don't like the ticket punch on the main image (wish I didn't do it but too late) should have pierced around the edge of the Always Artichoke, should have dressed those naked buttons with some cute threads and put that Happy Holidays in some sort of punch. So close your eyes and image that's the way my card looks, lol! This card is completely SU other than the stickles I used on the light bulbs.

Today's card is for Jen's Sketch for You To Try Challenge and since I told myself that I would not be waiting until the last minute to get my Christmas cards done that's what I'm going to be focusing on for the next week. I'm usually someone that likes things straight and all lined up and even so when I first looked at Jen's sketch I wasn't so sure how my card would come out, but boy I really like this layout!

Birthday Cards

These beautiful cards are from two of my sweet friends. The first one up top is from Bonnie, she knows I love Stella and Bonnie's card is fabulous with all the fun ribbon and bling! The next two cards are from Dawn (aren't I lucky to get two cards from her!) the glittery cupcake one is so pretty it shimmers in the light and I love it! The bottom card is right up my ally because I'm such a fall person and Dawn used the perfect fall images and colors.

Along with these cards both Dawn and Bonnie gave me wonderful presents for my birthday!

A few weeks ago I made up these Breast Cancer Awareness Bella cards and 2,4,6,8 boxes, along with a few other goodies to give to my mom and two sister-in-laws since October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. The 2,4,6,8 boxes are filled with pink M&M's and are stamped with the Polka Dot BG stamp. I also used the Cute & Curly stamp set and matching SU punch for the front labels. The Bella cards here are smaller versions of this previous card and uses most of the same supplies.

SFYTT - U ROCK

Today's card is for Jen's Sketch for You to Try on her blog i{heart}2stamp. I loved Jen's Rockin' Card for the sketch so I kept the same theme going for my card and used Rockabella and brought out the heavy metal, lol (well metal letters, that counts right). I used Basic Grey designer paper along with Riding Hood Red and Basic Black card stock. I colored this Bella with my Copics then added some sparkle to her hair and guitar with a gelly pen, then cut and embossed the image with a Nestabilities die (see picture below).

Birthday RAKs!

She's Back!!!

Happy Sweetest Day Everyone! Yep Stella's back, I used her for two challenges on this card, the first being Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #38 (awesome sketch) and the second for the Bellaholicsanonymous Color Challenge. Christi who is our Bellaholics Color Challenge Queen gave us the challenge to use the colors Black, Purple and Cream, well I wasn't able to use the cream because I wanted to use this Doodlebug paper but at least I got the Black & Purple. Please take a moment to visit Christi's blog and give your condolences as her grandmother passed away this last week and the colors she chose for the color challenge were her grandmas favorites.

Next Friday I'll be in the hot seat as the Anything Goes Challenge Queen for the Bellaholics Yahoo group and I'm excited and hope you'll all play along! Its going to be a fun day as Friday is also my birthday (the big 40) and because its my birthday and my blog counter is merging closer to the 100,000 mark I'll be giving away some birthday blog candy!

WSC62 - Pink Snowflake

I'm back and feeling much better, thanks for the well wishes that some of you left, luckily I was not feeling well for only a few days. This card is for Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge #62, my card measures 4"x 8" (this fits inside a standard business envelope) and I used the stamp set Best Wishes & More along with Elegant Cheer for the saying. The large pink snowflake is a die which was cut out using my Big Shot with the center snowflake stamped in Pretty in Pink and glittered with dazzling diamonds and a rhinestone brad added, then the whole piece was pop dotted. The top portion was embossed with the Swiss Dot Cuttlebug folder and the bottom of the card was stamped with the Polka Dot back ground stamp. I have a hard time working with pastel colors because I usually work with earth tone or bright colors, so this was a change for me.

Bellaholics Sketch Challenge

Here's my Bellaholicsanonymous sketch challenge card, this is the first sketch challenge that the Bellaholics Yahoo group has posted and this last Friday our Sketch Challenge Queen Sarah gave us this sketch to create a Bella card with. This was a fun sketch to play with and I got to use one of my new Bellas from my last order and I just love her. Its hard to see but I used a Spica glitter pen on the spokes and metal parts of her bike. This challenge isn't just for Bellaholic members its for anyone who wants to play, so come on give it a try!

What a FUN Day!

Yesterday my friend Dawn and I went to the Michigan Mini Mingle here in Lansing which was a get together planned by a few women through Splitcoast Stampers and boy did we have fun! It was so nice to meet the wonderful women who live here in Michigan and are members of Splitcoast. At the get together there were door prizes, swapping, food, a name tag contest (mine is below, look familiar? I tried to make it look like my blog header), creating, chatting, a whole lot of laughing and fun! It was so great to be able to put Splitcoast member names (and avatars) with faces and to be able to get to know some of the truly talented ladies that are on the SCS site.

For my door prize I made a collection of items using the SU Maine Blueberry designer paper and wrapped it all in a clear cellophane bag with a ribbon. The items that were included were a card, a post-it note holder with pen, a card holder and a box with wrapped chocolate nuggets inside. I made the mini pizza box from the tutorial on Splitcoast using the directions I found here. I would defiantly recommend trying one of these little boxes, it was fun and easy to make.

Two More Stamp-A-Stack Cards

Happy Thursday everyone! Thursday is my favorite day of the week, maybe because it means that were more than half way through the week and that the weekend is only a few days away. Anyhoo, these cards are the two other cards that we made at my Stamp-a-Stack class the other night. On the card up top I using the stamp set Big on Christmas, stamped it in Basic Black then colored in the image and letters and then added dazzling diamonds. The large snowflake on this card is a Big Shot die and I'm so glad I got it because I love snowmen (I have a big collection and put them all out at Christmas) and the snowflake goes so well with the different snowman stamp sets I have.
The card below is a semi cased card, which was found on Splitcoast Stampers and switched up a bit. I used the snowman from the Merry & Bright stamp set instead of the deer, but I really liked hairchicks (SCS member) cute card and thought it would work great for my Stamp-a-Stack class.

Someone needs to come up with a blog just on blogging tips and etiquette, lol. I think its important if your casing a card and posting it on your blog to always link back to the person who inspired your card. I usually don't case too many cards but if I do I give credit to the person who helped me create it. OK I'll get off my soap box now, lol.

SC197 Fall Friendship Card

For today's card I used the sketch challenge from Splitcoast Stampers and flipped it upside down. This is the first card I've made using Pocket Silhouettes, after seeing several cards I liked using this set I knew I needed to get it and since it was on special last month who could resist! This card is very simple and clean but I'm happy with how it turned out.

Supplies: Pocket Silhouette, Wonderful Words, Canvas BG, Ribbon, Scalloped square punch. Colors: Really Rust, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, Ruby Red, Naturals Ivory.

Christmas Stamp-A-Stack

Tonight I'm having a Christmas Stamp-A-Stack class and these are just two of the cards were going to be making. A Stamp-A-Stack class in my case, is when you make a total of 12 cards using four designs, its a great way to get started making your Christmas cards because you leave at the end of the night with a dozen cards done. The card up top is a card I created, but the card below using the Snow Swirled stamp set is a total case from eliotstamps a member on Splitcoast Stampers. I loved her card and figured why recreate the wheel, this card is so much more sparkly IRL with the clear gems glued on the front of the tree, that and I really liked how she embossed just a section of the back panel with the Swiss dots.

Its also hard to see on the card up top but the sleigh scene has dazzling diamonds on it and is very glittery. I like the old fashion feel that this card has with the darker colors and striped grosgrain ribbon.

Bella Challenge

Happy World Card Making Day Everyone! I hope all of you out there have had a chance to make a card and be creative today!

Well the first Bella Challenge has been given on the Bellaholicsanonymous group by LeAnne who is the Embellishment Challenge Queen and her challenge was to add buttons and bows to your Bella cards. So after looking through my Bellas I thought what better Bella to use buttons & bows with than fashionistabella! Then I needed a great sketch to create my card with, so I skipped on over to Jen's blog at I {heart}2 stamp and found just the one. I turned her Sketch For You to Try on its side so it would work for the Bella I was using and since my Bella was so large, my card turned out to be 5 1/2"x5 1/2". This card was fun to create! I'm not sure it shows up that well in the picture, but I embossed the green panel with my paisley embossing folder and used the SU Top Note die for matting this Bella after coloring her with my Copics. Once I had the card layed out I couldn't figure out a place for the saying I wanted to use so I took one of my DD's sewing pins and tacked it on and I think I like it!

SC196 - Snowbunnybella

Yes more Snowbunnybella, but today I used this Bella for yesterdays sketch challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers except I turned the sketch so I could use this image. I stamped and colored a bunch of these Bellas when I got together with some friends this last weekend to scrapbook. Even though I hardly finish one double page layout at our get together, I still had fun and got a chance to play with my Bellas.
On the two Pink Pirouette panels on my card, one was stamped using the polka dot background stamp and the other was embossed using a Cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder. Even though its hard to see in the picture, all of Bella's fur trim has a ton of dazzling diamonds on it and I used clear gems in the centers of the punched out snowflakes and under the main image.
